They literally have to remove some old content. The game is getting way too large in terms of file sizes. That's partly why loading takes so long...especially on consoles.
They didn't have the resources for a full on sequal...so this is the compromise.
Also, the planets aren't going away forever from my understanding. The content vault will allow them to shelve things and rotate them back in later.

They dont have the resources because of themselves...if they would of stayed with Activision and released D3 with all this "new content"...then they'd still have those resources

Also I love the fact that you've glossed over the fact that the content will return later on. And the fact they they have done this before...observe the entire season pass model. Content being added and removed every 3 months.

How can it return later on without doing what they need to do now...the file size will go down only temporarily and back to the same problem we have now.

No...because other things will rotate out while they rotate in Example...after next season Nessus rotates out and Titan rotates back in.

Bungie cant fix their problems so their going to hide them...alot of people still play the content that their removing and it sux that we have to suffer because of a few testers and very few options from ALL of their players and customers

This is fixing a problem The problem? Game size is getting way too large. Do you want Destiny to be the only game on your disk drive?
