When you win the Heir Apparent heavy machine gun you get an Eververse notification
Aaaaaand you guessed it! you can BUY for REAL CASH the ornament for the Heir Apparent!!! yay!!!!
after grinding 10 hours a day for 8 days I finally get The Heir Apparent and now #BUNGIE sends you an IN GAME NOTIFICATION that you can spend real money on the ornament for this weapon.
Just when we thought it couldnt get worse, they are now interrupting your game to tell you that you can throw cash at the screen RIGHT NOW for a sweet sweet ornament for the weapon you grinded for over the last 80 hours.
It made me realize how STUPID I am for wasting that much time on an imaginary weapon that i can spend REAL MONEY to make look prettier!

I think eververse being in the game is okay, if its used properly... unfortunately players will buy eververse when bungie makes bad decisions instead of increasing money flow when they make a good one. And you know... bungie having less gameplay chased cosmetics overall. Sure there's a sparrow, a ship, and a ghost shell every raid... but what about ornaments? Even d1 had revamped armor in Rise of Iron for OLD raids. There's no reason for me to play old raids anymore

2 RepliesI guess that’s the thing. Enough people must be buying eververse items for it to be profitable, or a few people are spending exorbitant sums. New light players coming in are probably dropping a couple bucks here and there on eververse and paying for the season pass, while the players who have put 200+ dollars into this game since launch get a middle finger and and an advertisement to spend more money.

1 ReplyThey did that with Bastion too, didn't take them long to provide a 4th Horseman ornament after it was available. No new nightfall specific loot for the new nightfalls but hey, look at the lineup in Eververse.

2 RepliesI’m kinda split on the topic of Eververse cuz on one hand, too much stuff is locked behind it. However, on the other hand, Bungie has no publisher to back them up with funding. Removing Eververse will weaken Bungie’s profit in the long run, just like making Destiny 2 FTP has and will. However, keeping Eververse in, will generate more profit long-term, but upset the player base. No matter what, it’s a lose-lose scenario.

9 RepliesSome people defend the Eververse as the way Bungie can make money to create more content... i paid around 60$ for season shadowkeep and season pass... thats how much most companies get for a game that takes 2-4 years to develop... i mean what did bungie do with that money? Isnt it enough to produce more content for 1 year and pay the bills?

I love how the notification is a blink and you miss it moment in the complete bottom of the screen which in no way blocks what we're trying to do in our menus. It's really nice to know that Bungie learned from the mistake of putting the crucible and gambit notification smack dead center in the screen!

Its funny I got the notification right after I got Beavered out of the tower after grabbing it. Then got the notification to buy the ornament. Lmao can't nerf special weapons in pvp, fix the launch bug or the error codes but nerf hardlight and you want me to buy an ornament for a gun ill never use.
