Why has hunter dodge not been addressed?

It’s head and shoulders more effective than rift or barricade, and cools down 3x as fast. If it’s going to have the same cooldown going forward, which I think it should, it can’t also be a get out of jail free card. I’m fine with it being very visually evasive and breaking AA, but it should NEVER be immune to damage of any kind (yes, hunter mains, it’s immune to several things) or break tracking on grenades. Rift needs a buff to animation speed as well. EDIT: Hilarious seeing all the Hunter mains who are willfully ignorant on the topic suddenly change their argument after watching the video testing I did. I'm not sure it's possible to be any less credible than someone who outright denies the existence of something in order to support their opinion.   • Mainly I think barricade might be a little weak, but rift would be hard to combat if its animation was faster. I think a nice way to indirectly buff these would be to buff their exotics such as crest of alpha lupi and sanguine alchemy.

      • Rifts could allow the user to take more damage I believe. Barricades can secure the heavy. And dodges allow hunter to get out of disadvantageous gun fights, I think it is fair

          • Beware my fellow Guardian... We hunters are defensive and we make up the majority. (and I believe our Luke Smith played Hunter but I could easily be wrong) The way I was told is that you have three classes and three spots. Hunter for Pvp, Warlock for Pve, and you shouldn't play Titan(yet my brother still does). Not saying that is a good reason but it seems rather accurate. Personally imo, I think rift and barricade need buffs. Barricade should be slightly bigger and have more health. Rift should last longer, be wider, and heal just slightly faster. Then ALL exotics that effect/affect(?) barricade and rift should have full reworks so they are more useful. Hunter dodges are good because of all the great exotics you can pair and that is far less often with Titans and Warlocks.

            • I’d say it’s more that barricade and rift just aren’t geared for PvP at all, more so than there really being anything wrong with dodge.

                Because its not an issue. Yes it breaks assist but it doesn't mean you can't hit them. I almost never have a problem hitting hunters mid dodge. And no it doesn't make them immune. Lightning reflexes gives you some extra armor but it was just nerfed. The only other thing you can be talking about is bolt grenades not connecting and breaking tracking on nades but that's a mechanic of dodge.

                • It wasn't nerfed but Bungie wanted to nerf PvE reload speed. The hunter dodge only reloads the hunter's equipped weapon. And they are not immune during this. If they were we wouldn't have any Dodge This medals.

                    • Dodging doesn’t make you immune to anything. And why wouldn’t it disable tracking Grenades? Kinda defeats the purpose of a dodge if you can’t, well... dodge.

                        It’s definitely not as good as you’re making it out to be. Especially with the new Titan exotic. If it’s regen too fast then up your own rift stats . You problem

                            Rift needs to be placed faster, for sure. Hunter dodges have long been rid of I-frames, but they shouldn’t break tracking on grenades. What are some of the things you think the dodge gives immunity to?

                            • Indeed, I think healing rift should heal a little bit faster and when you leave it if you have any overshield it should stick with you for a few seconds. Also they should make it so you can pick up and move barricade. But when you pick it up it shrinks and can't block anything until you put it back down again. That would balance out how over powered dodge is. Plus Titan and warlock both need some kind of synergy with their subclasses when they use their unique abilities. Dodge auto reloads with certain trees and brakes any kind of aim assist/ target acquisition or tracking. So barricade and rift should also auto reload on certain trees.

                              • They need to add in a class ability stat and not have our class abilities depend on our Mobility, Resilience, or Recovery stats.

                                  Anyone believing Rift every 42 seconds at it's max - highly situational - or Barricade - again highly situational - has the utility of Dodge, every 9 seconds, useful and available in almost every engagement, simply isn't paying attention or doesn't play all 3 classes. It's reflected in the majority use of Hunter and the top Efficiency of Hunter (Guardian.gg). Oh and yes, even on this little forum, you'll be down-voted and snubbed because the very ease of use has created the popularity, and the popularity maintains or heavily influences the ease of use. It's a monster, an upward spiral, that Bungie has created and I would say needs to get it's hands dirty and fix. Aaaaaand that is unlikely to be done right now, if ever, given the unpopularity of current Trials AND season 10 content, even if numbers are artificially buoyed by the extra numbers of people logging on right now.
