Capture Zones: You see those flags labeled “A,” “B,” and “C?” Those are Zones that you need to capture. Walk into that white circle around the flags and make sure they turn blue. DONT HAVE ONLY ONE PERSON CAPTURE A ZONE
Hold and keep an advantage: Hold onto a minimum of 2 Zones and keep it that way. That’s how you win this thing.
Protect your zones: If you capture a Zone, you better be prepared to defend it. If you see red starting to build around a Zone, GO TO IT AND GET THE ENEMY OFF OF IT. If you are at your zone and see some red on the radar, DON’T RUN AWAY WITH YOUR TAIL BETWEEN YOUR LEGS. AND PLEASE DONT EXPECT ONE PERSON TO DO ALL THE DEFENDING
Play like you have a brain: There are moments where you want to take all three Zones. But jfc that moment isn’t every moment. You do it too much and you’ll screw yourself and your whole team over.
TL;DR: Ptfo like you have a brain
Rant over. Ty
Update: The “but the bounty says...” excuse is just old, worn out, and a bad excuse overall. You can complete the bounties by playing the objective. Heck, some of them would be finished quicker if you were playing the objective.
Then let’s move onto the “but get a fireteam” excuse. That’s also a crap excuse. People shouldn’t have to or be forced to constantly spend searching for groups to play something. And it most certainly shouldn’t be the case when it comes to playing an objective. Solo or with a premise team, people should know that they should play the objective, especially when it’s an objective so basic that a toddler could understand what to do.

2 RepliesThe objective is to complete those bounties as fast as possible and get the hell out of IB.
-
I play however the Bounty dictates, couldn't care less about the objective, even if I'm on the winning team & the bounties done, its time to jump out of the crucible shit show
-
I'm only in there to get the bounties done
-
Add to this lost stop other side from constantly getting heavy ammo. I was on team where they kept letting other side get heavy, and of course they won. One moron on my team ran right past it twice.

1 ReplyEdited by Call_Me_DaddyDon: 11/30/2019 8:55:21 PMSo stupid to get mad at a system that isn't working well at all. PvP has no hope in this game. I actually highly doubt that there is someone @Bungie working on PvP at all. Nobody is playing I.B. for fun, its literally the only source to get high power rewards for a solo player. I still don't get why they would put rewards behind this garbage pvp system.
-
Instead of blaming idiots we need to lay the blame on the developers. Because this isn't the only game that has players that does not play the objective. They need to make it where you do not earn points unless you capture the point.
-
The press W faction. Run! That way... Straight past the closest objective.
-
RNG Giveth RNG Taketh. Sometimes you will get those who play the objective, while most of the time you get those who are in this for themselves. You want to win then you need to remove that RNG factor. The best way to do that is to get some friends, or like minded people and form a fireteam. That or just have fun... or let your veins pop out of sheer rage... :p

Problem is that Bungie has so many quests and bounties that revolve around anything but actually winning. All the quests and bounties for Iron Banner and Crucible just want you to use certain abilities, supers, or weapons. Yeah, it’s great to win the extra tokens, but everyone just wants pinnacle gear and weapons at the moment. And the guy sitting at the back of the map on your team just stealing your kills with a Jade Rabbit scout rifle is either trying to get Randy’s Throwing Knife done before the end of the season or doing the Jade Rabbit catalyst.
-
1 ReplyI did my bounties and got out trying to work on randy but the medals in IB don't seem to count. Don't know if it's just me but try to get cold fusion or regent in there see how you go and let me know.
-
4 RepliesNO! As long as Bungie keeps making us fulfill stupid bounties by forcing us into content we don't want to play, I will just work on whatever weapon bounty I need to work on and who cares if we win or lose. Apparently every other person in D2 feels the same way, so why should I bother?! Crucible, especially IB is a complete sh!t-show, so why bother.
-
2 RepliesGet your bounties done and save your crying for your momma. Nobody cares about the objective or winning. All that matters is completing the bounties for the pinnacle gear. IB has absolutely nothing to play for except pinnacle bounty completion. The end.

1 ReplyEdited by Lyrro: 12/1/2019 4:27:47 PMThis problem would all but completely cease to exist if Bungie made IB bounties that rewarded winning, rather than encourage solo antics. Sure, you could get that ability kill bounty done just by playing, but you'd have to play fifteen plus matches. Or, you could just say "screw objectives" and just focus on getting those kills and get it done in five. You could play a dozen or so matches of IB to get those kills and/or assists, or you could just focus on kills and knock out the bounties while your teammates worry about winning. It comes down to the simple fact that Bungie wants IB bounties to last all week, while most players don't want to grind IB all week (or can't) just to finish a few bounties. It becomes a race to get these bounties done as fast as possible, which very often means ignoring objectives and focusing on kills. Players are naturally going to migrate to whatever tactic gets their quests done the fastest. The sooner they get their quests done, the sooner they can get their rewards and the sooner they can "just play for fun" without having to play the way Bungie wants them to, or what Bungie wants them to. I can't say I blame them, given that there have been many times when Bungie has said "you will play the way we want you to if you want this" and it ends up being a way I do not enjoy in the slightest. Heck, I'm entirely convinced that momentum control was invented purely because of Randy's and the simple fact that the majority of players don't enjoy scout rifles in a game where metas like Recluse and Shotguns are highly encouraged/promoted over nearly everything else and the close quarters rushing tactics make scout rifles obsolete. The two main issues with IB bounties are the length of the bounties (especially ability kills) and the fact that most people don't want to or can't grind IB all week. Most players want to get these bounties done quickly because they're limited on time, they're not having fun playing the way Bungie wants them to, or they have too many other things to do and are worried about FOMO. Bounties like "get kills while controlling two zones" are good because they encourage players to actually play the objectives. "Win 5 matches" encourages players to try to win while still letting them play the way they want to play, and most players are not going to win five matches in a row so they'll still likely play more than five. Things like "get 100 kills" encourages players to ignore objectives and focus on kills because they want to hurry up and get the quest done as quickly as possible due to either time constraints or FOMO. "Get kills with a ____" often encourages players to skip objectives so they can hurry up and get their kills and then swap back to the toys they enjoy playing with, excluding those scenarios where the weapon is their favorite toy. While the objective of this bounty might be to "get players to try new things" the usual response is "focus mainly on getting the bounty done so I can get back to playing the way I want to play."

sure, when bungie stops forcing you to play the way they want you to in order to unlock the iron banner stuff. otherwise, no, I don't care. I'm just here for the armor.
-
3 RepliesI don’t understand how people are having such negative IB experiences. 90% of my games have been very enjoyable, very decent performance, and most have even been close, even matches. Sometimes the first game has a bad host but it usually gets better after that.
-
IB has always been Clash! What's this "capture zones" you speak of??
-
When you play with randoms, you play with teammates only out for themselves. Face it - Bungie destroyed the incentive to play the objective with their weekly IB bounties. There is no reason to win IB matches, only accomplish the objectives for the bounties. That's why people are playing in a manner that doesn't jive with how you think they should be playing. If you want to play the objective, collect some friends and go in as a fireteam.
-
Edited by Ghost Train2099: 12/2/2019 5:12:27 PMI don’t think most of the bounties have anything to do with capping zones.....or even winning....for that matter. One bounty maybe counts zones? After folks complete it they prob just don’t care. Therein lies the dilemma. Don’t have to like it, just have to realize it’s a thing. You’ll sleep better at night.
-
The competitive side of me always tries to play the objective, but to be honest with the only difference being 5 tokens compared to 3 I can't get too upset about winning versus losing.
-
2 RepliesMy brain says I need pinnacle rewards from IB. only 1/4 of those rewards include needing zones. YET, if I take a zone and or try and hold it, especially B, what happens? The enemy comes and boom I get my kills, ability kills, ect. So everyone whining that its about the bounties should realize, take the zone and take the kills that come to you. Having said this right now it's about the kills more then the zones so I may be slightly hypocritical.
-
I usually don't mind if someone has zero Captures as long as they're putting up some good numbers in the Defeats column and a killer Efficiency. If that's how it plays out, I'll let them torment the other team while I go around capturing zones with minimal resistance.
