Remember....
...going to Arcite to check the crucible weapon rolls? Can't do that now. Theres only 1 new gun with a fixed set of rolls.
...going to the Vanguard frame to check the vanguard weapons? Can't do that now. Theres only 1 new gun with a fixed set of rolls.
...going to Factions each week? Now they don't even exist.
...Banshee having arms day? Now he still only sells year 2 stuff and we are on year 3.
...when Iron Banner actually got new weapons? Yeah not anymore.
...when vendors in the tower were actually useful? They haven't been in a long time.
I get Eververse being an important vendor because Bungie is a company. Companies need money. Duh. But now on reset day everyone goes to the tower and sees what updated in the microtransaction vendor rather than real vendors. It's an embarrassment that eververse is the top priority for Bungie.
Edit: As of 7:16 P.M. EST on 11/6 bungie replies to a topic right under mine with hella less upvotes. Goes to show their bias and not wanting to address criticism
Edit 2: Bungie we are at 1189 upvotes. If you won't respond to me, are you really going to ignore 1189 other people? That's a sizable amount for the forums.

37 RepliesNo, I don't ever remember it being about vendors. I remember it being about activities resetting their drops. Exactly how it is now. I remember 90 percent of vendor rolls being completely useless. I remember vendor armor never having anything close to getting a tier 12 stat roll. I remember trading in rep and scrapping 99% of the drops I would get. Furthermore, in d2, I never remember a reset day where I said to myself... I wonder what Eververse has today? Imagine getting excited over cosmetics that have no effect whatsoever on gameplay. I also remember year long content droughts. But hey, atleast we got to stand in front of a vendor and get useless drops. That's why d1 was so much fun.... Vendors.

1 ReplyKeeping this thread relevant so new players understand what we had and no longer have for the sake of prioritizing eververse over everything else.

17 RepliesFull disclosure: I'm a New Light player, so I don't have the history or the built up frustrations that many of you do. -- I appreciate that you don't like the current system, but what in a perfect world would be the system that you would enjoy the most? Without a consistent revenue stream there is no game. I think we all understand that. So, how can we all support Bungie so this great game keeps going while still having fun and feeling like we got a great value? I don't have an answer or at least not a good one yet. I purchased Forsaken and Shadowkeep straight away once I knew I loved the game. That's not a permanent solution though. Has anyone come up with one? I know I'd support this game regularly if there was a way to do it. Just my New Light 2 cents. Probably worth about half of that.

7 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 11/7/2019 8:39:31 PMEconomics 101 If you want them to change, don't buy anything. Don't buy it with silver or dust. Ignore it. If it really is that important to them they will change it when it no longer generates the revenue they want/need it to. Making 100's of complaint posts won't matter, especially when there are a good chunk of players who still buy stuff from Eververse regardless of all the negative posts. If those who are willing to buy outnumber those who are complaining, you are literally fighting an uphill battle and essentially do not matter. You can have 400+ people yelling that Eververse is BS and that you will not buy anything from it, but if the other 50k people don't care and buy stuff, you're fighting a losing battle.

5 RepliesI think it's really funny how my post is at 1189 upvotes and has nothing from bungie. This is definitive proof they respond only to positive feedback

19 RepliesI'm gonna play devils advocate. Eververse prices are the same if not cheaper than Fortnite and Apex Legends. Just saying. And in those games buying stuff is really the only way to get cosmetics. In D2 there's almost endless amounts of gear for you to choose from for free. On top of that, you get a free chance at things from the store every time you level up. Most of the "big" games don't give you that option. Sorry, but I don't get the issue. I do agree with the part about vendors and factions. I really wish there were some rotating weapon rolls for us every week like in D1. That was the best part about reset. Hit up all the vendors and see if RNG blessed with some god rolls.

Yeah! We all waiting to see what new rolls and gear they would bring to the game. I still remember buying that Hung Jury SR4 with that PERFECT GOD ROLL from Dead Orbit. It was the only time it was available with that roll.

4 RepliesCareful Beast, the mods might lock and report this post.

4 RepliesI remember when reset day was actually about doing stuff in the game. Not vendors at all.

This season at least has the extra content from shadowkeep. Next season will be even more everworse content in comparison to other seasonal content.
-
Bungie already adressed it.
-
They are too greedy to worry with vendors other than Eververse and it has shown time and time again. They may make some changes in the future and say they have heard our complaints but then they will inch back to where the store is now or worse yet still not have any of the other vendors refreshed. Don't forget content is hard to make. That is a comment I would never expect to hear from a developer trying to get more players and sell their game yet I did.

To be honest, I really miss the Banshee's test weapons, it was a test of sorts, especially in pvp mode, and brought its own flavor to the game. And now, what did we end up with in return, just a bunch of boring errands...

This falls on the leadership of bungie. I always give credit to the art team though, amazing vistas and excellent visuals always. Not to be confused with the hideous armor design team though.

Edited by Demonic Velocity: 11/7/2019 6:59:48 PMThey haven't updated the vendors in ages but yet constantly update eververse And with random rolls back the vendors could easily have a few guns with random rolls for shards each week. Hell I remember each dlc bungie would revamp the vendors and even add new gun models the game is lacking in that aspect D1 had so many weapon and armour models Iron banner weapons and until recently the armor as well looked very uninspired and the weapons were reskins with a iron banner logo how cool...

Pepperidge Farm remembers. But seriously, I'm a D1 vet and do remember the excitement and anticipation of finding out what kind of rolls where available. I remember two such occurrences: The first occured during a KF raid, a few of the players were using this god roll Hung Jury and I saw how great it was. I asked them where they got it, and one said it was on sale from Dead Orbit (a faction I was pledged to at the time) that particular week. As soon as we finished I went straight to the tower, straight to the vendor and bought one for each of characters. Another instance occurred in the same fashion. I was told of that the vanguard vendor was a god roll 1000 Yard Stare which was (next to Blackhammer) perfect for the knight and ogre encounters. I did the same thing as the Scout, went after the raid over and bought three. Used it and the Hung Jury all my KF runs (except sisters and oryx encounter) from then on.

I still haven’t purchased shadowkeep. It just doesn’t seem worth the cash. It honestly was just a big sandbox update that was “laying the foundation of destiny” -Bungie 2015 to present For the record if it takes 5 years to lay a foundation, then you normally hire a new contractor. But that’s besides the point. There are some key concepts that seems to have thrown the game into an identity crisis (by no means is this game an MMO, or looter shooter. Honestly it feels so much more like a live service fornite....ugh). Makes me wonder if Bungie just wants to see how much money they can make before the ship goes completely underwater. There has been numerous things requested for years and it’s never happened. Some things for 5 years. Simple things (vendors, changing character appearance, pre set load outs) But that’s why i will only buy expansions when things are super cheap

Edited by MrCayde006: 11/7/2019 4:32:04 PMIt's sad to see Bungie made in-game armors or ornaments ugly so players are forced to buy Eververse items. Sure you can use your bright dust but a full set will cost you 6000 bright dust and you have to complete 600 daily bounties earn these bright dust back. The new event reward in a reskinned braytech weapon and all the new items are locked behind Eververse.
