Solo player here. Love the game and everything in it that allows me to solo. Matchmaking activities are great. However, I absolutely hate the idea of and will never be getting a "fire team" together to run certain non match making activities. This excludes me from many activities that lead to pinnacle and exotic weapons and I am ok with that for now. I also fully understand the psychological and other aspects of why Bungie pushes and promotes fire teams. As a solo player I have my limits on how much content I am excluded from because I choose to play solo. If content exclusion get's to the point that I personally feel the game is just not worth the money for me, then I will begrudgingly spend it somewhere else. I bought the first Destiny on day one and have bought every single expansion from D1 and D2 since then. Love the game but in the end, if Bungie doesn't want my money that's ok. Also just wondering how many other solo's are in the community. Solo...signing out.

I've been primarily a solo player for a long time. I don't know. I don't feel like anything in this game is impossible or anything. Difficult at times, yes, but if I want to do something bad enough, I'll find a way.

Solo player here. The one piece of good news from Bungie (amongst a lot of bad news) is that there'll be more crucible options for solo players. I pretty much only play Rumble but after shadowkeep there'll be a solo queue 3v3 Survival playlist that rewards Glory. Over the weekend I joined an LFG post to run Menagerie with other people using Rose to advance the Lumina Quest step. Toxic, elitist and lacking any social decorum are the words I'd use to describe some of the people in the party chat. One guy challenged me to a 1v1 and then told me that after the 1v1 they were going to "fry my router" lol. It's all good though because life sorts out people like that. Generally with a few jabs and an overhand cross they don't see coming :). I get a couple clan invites each month but I think I'm better off playing solo. This new solo queue survival playlist will be fun!

Everyone is a solo player up to a point. Mine was VoG. Once I hit the level cap little old me with his shitty connection managed to hop into a raid group and clear a couple checkpoints. They’ve been my favourite pieces of content since. Though I do enjoy solo challenges, such as Shattered Throne. Still salty about the solo flawless awarding literally nothing. All in all, if you choose to not participate in that content, that’s your prerogative. But let’s stop it with the ‘excluded’ stuff. You’re choosing not to partake in the content and group experience.

It comes down to choice. I solo when I want and lfg or clan up when I want. There's no need to paint oneself into a corner.

Edited by LocoToopa: 9/8/2019 10:19:05 PMI play solo and dont feel excluded from anything in the slightest. The only reason I don't raid is because of lack of incentive. (Mediocre loot and other channels to max light) If I need a team, I'll pop on lfg and grab one....it's not rocket science... I used to raid all the time in D1 and would use lfg without too much faffing around.

Nightfalls and raids are trash now in D2. I managed to get to 750 without doing one of them. I put a group together for running shattered throne twice to get the bow. Honestly, it wasn't that fun, but at least it was quick and I could get the armour and weapons elsewhere that still gave a bufff in there. The best PvE weapons come from PvP pinacle quests. What a joke Guided Games are far from GG. What a borked experiment they were. Back in D1 raids weapons used to be th best on PvE and the armour helped you run the raids quicker, with raid specific perks VoG was the best raid IMHo Crota was more like a dungeon, and at least that was quick PoE was just running it for RNG exotic drops. I did Skolas once and it sure as shit wasn't fun. Oryx was good and at least above average with the 1st exotic you could quest for, and it was worth it! The thing that irled the shit out of me was the legnth of time to get to the first enocunter WotM was the start of a downward spiral where raids only see the 1-3% of the entire population of the game doing them. I've watched guides for all the raids, both proper guides and cheese guides, and they have become this clunky mechanical thing where 2 team members have to make a pot of soup, while another 2 team members have to collect the spoon and plate and yet another 2 team members have to stir it and plate it. No room for errors Must have Mt or Reculse of 50 clears to get onto a group. The armour isn't worth and the guns aren;t worth the ballache to grind for. Menagerie and dungeons looks to be the future with way more people playing that content than raiding I'd see raids as taking up too much dev time for too few players doing them. The future is solo queue with match making and dungeons. If there were more dungeons I wouldn't even mind putting a team together, as long as it was fun and quick and you can work towards getting anything exotic

This guy realizes it's his fault he's "excluded" from activities right?

Edited by michael: 9/8/2019 9:35:40 PMi have a tight clan of close personal friends that i play with every day now but i used to be a solo player before i moved to pc and had no problem with it. i had no problem getting to max light, doing forges, reckoning, nightfalls, gambit prime, or crucible both quickplay and comp by myself. i LFGed raids when i needed to once in a while which was rare. i never once had the feeling of “man i wish i had friends so that i could do this activity that im locked out of for not having a team”.
-
2 RepliesAlright, if you feel excluded from something for being a solo player, that your own fault.
-
2 RepliesIf shadowkeep doesnt have lobbying for Nightfalls or Raids, then I see no point to buy it. Its already been depressing to buy a game, its addons, and a season pass, to be excluded from raids because of a lack of focus when it comes to adding simple already existing features from just about every other MMO ever.
-
22 RepliesThere should be none. There should be a match made version of every activity..including raids where every player has a chance to complete the content, share in the experience and a get a version of the rewards. Anything else is servicing a small...very small subset of players.
-
153 RepliesSo you're excluded from activities because you make the choice to NOT gather a team? Lmao I wish you people would leave sooner
-
You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

2 RepliesI’m mostly a solo player, though I have completed a few raids before. I still need to do crown of sorrow.
-
I’m mostly a solo player myself, as it seems like my clan and friends even barely message me, but even with the pain gambit insurers, I enjoy it even with the problems they’ve left untouched for some god forsaken reason

I also fully understand the psychological and other aspects of why Bungie pushes and promotes fire teams. That’s exactly right, you choose to play the way you want.
