I don't get this negative stigma towards the idea that Raids are too easy. Raids [i]are[/i] too easy now. Remember when killing a Raid boss took several damage cycles and near-flawless play from everyone in the team? Remember when doing a one-phase was a rarity and a testament to great play? Not this "use the best weapons available and the boss dies in 8 seconds". Gjallarhorn wasn't capable of that and it's regarded as the single best weapon in Destiny history; the same goes for every other weapon in D1. Using the best weapons and team composition would slim your encounter down from 3 phases to 2, not be a guaranteed 1 phase. I had my first attempt at a Petra's Run of Last Wish a couple of days ago; we failed right as Morgeth died on our furthest run. Last Wish, when bypassing Riven's mechanics entirely, isn't too complex but the pressure of not being able to die was exhilarating, and something I've not felt in a game for a long time. Raids just don't offer that tension or reward for knowledge of the encounters anymore. The closest D2 came to replicating that, in my opinion, was the first few times I made it the Phase 3 in The Vault, but even that has disappeared. Before anyone calls me an elitist, my preferred loadout now includes Izanagi's Burden and Oxygen as a Chaos Reach Warlock. I'll concede that I do use Swarm but it's hardly a full-meta setup. I willingly offer to Sherpa people through Raids and just this week took 5 people through LW for the first time. I've done the same with Scourge and will happily teach people to do Crown of Sorrow. You don't have to be a Datto fanboy to agree with the point he's making.

I un subbed datto, he became so preachy and elitist about everything, he doesn't speak for anyone but himself. There's already enough arrogance and e-peen elitism around here! lol

Bungie: We did not foresee people using the Well of Radiance to just boost the entire team’s DPS in boss encounters to end the fight more quickly. Me: WHAT?! ——- Bungie: We made a change to rally barricade so the fire team no longer needs to crouch to reload, just simply stand close enough to the barricade. Months later ... Bungie: The community we’re using it in a way we never intended to make encounters too easy by increasing DPS too much. Me: WHAT?! At a certain point I don’t think Bungie knows how we play the game, and in all their internal play testing they never get close to playing the game correctly.

I don’t watch any YTubers who play on PC. It is just way too easy for them. Console, you have to actually deal with recoil.

Bungie thru their statements and continued actions have proven that they think content creators interactions with this game are the norm. The fact that they market [b]watching[/b] the raid race and not running the raid with every content release reflects that. Content creators on the other hand, of course care more about their 100th clear than 1,000 players 1st clear. In the end, until Bungie directly express their sentiments (which I don’t see happening) on several aspects of this game, this cycle will continue.

Here's the thing. All Dattos commentary is on the PC port of the game. Which is only played by 17% of the community. He says nothing about console which is 83% of the community. A lot of his concerns and opinions are PC specific and should be disregarded

If anyone wants the game to be any tougher then go play dark souls. Its annoying enough having to form a group of random players to do raids, its even more annoying how long it takes for some players to adapt because of their skill level which is fine but not everyone has the patience. Making the game any harder is pointless
