Like this if you want the menagerie chest exploit back

I think that the chest exploit made the menagerie more fun since it allowed for easier grinding, and I’m pretty sure most people agree with me when I say that the chest exploit at the end of the menagerie made it much more fun. I would like to see this return, and I think it, or something like it (maybe limiting it to 3) would be beneficial for the menagerie. Edit: The comments did a great job of highlighting that there would be no way that they would keep something like this in the game. They also highlighted that the passage above was more of a butthurt rant whining about the chest patch, which is 100% true. I think that the idea to give extra chests for flawless encounters is a good idea. To add on to this idea I would say that each chest after the first one should double in the amount of runes required per slot. This would help players spend all of the runes that they have been accumulating since the patch.

  • I think rewarding is the word you are looking for. I don't see how running back and forth to get multiple chests makes the menagerie more fun.

  • I run it three times just for my powerful drops. The activity is fun but unrewarding. I hope Bungie learns from this.

  • I think they should just have enough chests at the end to represent how many encounters were cleared before time runs out. Challenge completions after the initial triumphs in the Menagerie should give a chance for even more chests for the team but shouldn’t be a guarantee bc some of the challenge are really easy.

    I really miss that exploit. This was the most rewarding activity that I ever experienced in Destiny. I understand why it had to be patched though. Getting 5-6 drops like that is excessive. However, it really highlights the rest of the activities in the game and how loot scarce they are. Take the Crucible, for instance. Outside of quests and a few bounties, why would you even bother playing it? All it gives you is blue items and crappy tokens. Shaxx's stuff is above average at best. I've got well over 900 tokens just sitting there. All it does is create busy work for me for shard material that I don't even need or want. Do I need another Fate Cries Foul or Last Perdition? Nope.

    • I've ran it once since they patched it, and that was to get my last flawless boss clear on heroic, which also happened to drop my third and final sword. I don't have any intentions of running it unless they somehow revert to making the chest farmable again. That's a shame because i'm still missing a god-rolled shotgun...Maybe Bungie will look at the numbers and realize they effed up

    • Bungie needs to meet us in the middle to some capacity because I loved the Menagerie, it’s fun and the rewards actually felt rewarding. Now it just feels like a weekly chore, like everything else. Either put several chests at the end or reverse the fix. This whole ordeal is a shining example of just how unrewarding this game truly is. Everyone LOVED that chest farm. Your chances of actually getting the rolls you want on gear are so low that opening the chest 5-7 times per run was the only way to realistically get anything you wanted. Now we’re all screwed. Bungie, do you think anything through before trashing the player experience?? Maybe it’s time you let a few cheeses go untouched. We don’t need your help, we’re fine.

    • I mean i dont want it back in full force because it was a bit excessive but going from an easy 5+ drops to 1 maybe 2 is pretty lackluster, i dont feel very motivated to play because after 50 gauntlets i never once got enhanced hand cannon loader so the prospect of doing 50 runs and not getting what i wanted can get stuffed. Im just going to play another game for a while i think, love a good break from d2 to make me miss it all over again.

      One chest guaranteed, and an extra for every 100% completed encounter. max of 3 chests. Extra 2 on heroic for a max of 5.

        • While you may be correct in that a majority would agree with you, that’s only because they’d want Menagerie loot being easier to grind, not better rewards. Therein lies the problem with such a mentality and it’s never going to work either because A: It was a bug, and B: It significantly reduced overall time spent playing Menagerie. Which is funny because now less people would actually want to play Menagerie without the glitch. I do, however, agree that Bungie should cave in and simply put in three reward chests at the end since that basically was the amount that people were getting out of it from the glitch.

        • I think the thing with the exploit was that it was stil grinding, in fact if anything the exploit was [u]enabeling [/u]that grind. You would still have to find whatever rolls you wanted and that would still take effort and time. As it is, I'm max light so have no incentive to play the mode anymore. The effort - output ratio just isn't worth it now.

I think it funny that people think Its better to get loot without any effort then actually play the game... stop crying about it and start play the game the way Its suppose to be played.

            • I'm a returning player who's just recently bought the annual pass and am in the process of levelling up and have only run the Menagerie once at Light level 696. I'd simply ask to have the same opportunities that all the other players have had to date.

              I haven’t don’t menagerie since they patched it. I was lucky enough to get nearly every god roll I could get with very little grinding at all Is it still 5 mins after a chest opens? If so , what’s the point lol

            • Unfortunately this exploit may have been too much of a good thing. People were grinding for god rolls by going afk in rumble using macro controllers, which is clearly not ok. Now maybe this silliness will stop. I’ll take my god roll sniper, and a few other goodies, and move on.
