It’s clear that the nerf to the mask did nothing to make other exotics viable as Titans still use it religiously in QP and Comp
The perk gives you many benefits just for simply killing your target and the fact that it activates just by getting hit just makes it a passive honestly
The perk is dumb as it is, nerfing it will probably make it worthless so why not rework it into a usable exotic but not one where it’s mandatory to use
I’m open for ideas and suggestions as well
Edit: It seems most think the best way Bungie can resolve this is by buffing other titan exotics so they aren’t as mediocre compared to OEM and honestly feel dumb for not thinking that

Edited by DiZ: 5/29/2019 4:45:16 AMAt this point, I'd rather just have a playlist(ideally Comp.) where Exotic armor's just either banned or "disabled"(Exotic perk doesn't work, but you can still use it for the great roll and/or appearance). I know that seems pretty controversial and extreme, but I personally think the game plays better/smarter when we don't have any arguably "insane" or "broken" Exotic armor(not even necessarily referring to OEM) that gets introduced and causes everybody to either bandwagon it or cry and rage about it(either because they're playing against it, or can't get it to drop for them). And then none of them have to get toned down or ruined in PvE because of PvP where losses matter(i.e. the first nerf to Shards). Since losses don't matter outside of Comp. aside from certain Triumphs and personal feelings/ego(you still get Valor for each match).
And Bungie's proven they can do something like this before with the Prestige Raid Lairs, where you could only choose certain weapon types every week, and everything that wasn't of the same type(i.e. Kinetic Pulse Rifle, Energy SMG) was locked out. Now that may not've exactly been a "fan-favorite" becuse of how it was executed, but I'm mainly pointing to how this isn't a foregin concept.

Would also like no Heavy ammo in that playlist, but that's not exactly relevant to the post.

It could also be a Crucible Labs or weekly playlist, so that people who don't want to go into Comp.(if it were to be only implemented there) can try it out and see how they feel about it.
2 RepliesEveryone this guy is actually a hunter main on his original account He’s just using he’s friends account because his friend likes titans.

2 Replies0 upvotes 😆👍🏿

1 ReplyIt doesn't need a nerf, titans just need better exotics for PVP. There just aren't any other ones to use that are good.
-
I dont really think it needs one. It's only useful if you play an aggressive close range style and personally I'd rather have skullfort for that.
-
I'm a Titan and Hunter and Warlock player, Boi they can nerf one eye when they nerf Spectral Blades tree. Specifically the BS invisibility and wall hacks. You complain about one eye doing the exact same lol but it's not a part of their super, we get good exotics bc our supers suuuuck.

9 RepliesEdited by michael: 5/28/2019 12:29:44 PMIt should have either wallhacks or regen on kill but definitely not both
-
4 RepliesTitans literally have 2 pieces of armor that work for us and everybody looses their mind. It’s not even that good lmao.

7 RepliesA titan main who wants OEM nerfed? I take it you never got it to drop?
-
2 RepliesFact: The reason OEM is the only exotic titans use, is because it is the only good pvp exotic, besides maybe synthoceps
-
The mask would be a little more balanced if the targeting part only activates when critical and have a slightly shorter tracking duration. It was a neat helmet for PvE until the Regen nerf. I refuse to use it in PvP just because it actually feels like cheating. Titan Main.
-
Never Seeing the complaints, it’s gonna get nerfed again sadly
-
1 ReplyThe problem is there isn’t any other exotic worth the slot.
-
OEM is a great example of an exotic not being OP but others just being bad. OEM is what exotics should feel like.
-
Or they could make other exotics useful for Titans in PvP. Why is it everyone automatically goes to "change this/ nerf that" whenever they see a useful exotic??? OEM is not broken now and other exotics for Titans are just not very useful in a PvP setting.
-
Edited by wes238: 5/28/2019 3:11:20 PMIt's fine because you have to take damage, survive, then kill whatever was attacking you, unlike other exotics that just buff damage for no reason(Foetracer) or return health for just double tapping B/O (Wormhusk Crown) and titans don't have rifts.

Rework? Bungo? Haha

See, this is a touchy subject. I've determined that the helmet isn't really overpowered per say. I've had a bit of time since coming back, to play a number of matches in PvP. Of all matches, every Titan is wearing the One-Eyed Mask. Now, I don't think that this is because it is overpowered, but instead it is more so, over saturated by the fact that there is nothing worthwhile for the Titan to use that is remotely "Good". It stands that the item is indeed good, but not broken, at first I was pissed, I'll admit, that every Titan I fought, killed a buddy and instead of me being able to defeat him, I basically had a Guardian and a Half to fight, all over again. I've since updated my strategies against Titans, in which I simply only engage them in a 3 versus 1 scenario, or a 1 versus 1 scenario, however I find they excel in a 2 versus 1 scenario exemplary well. Ultimately, the real fix for this would be to create more viable exotic armor for all classes, with unique capabilities and features. In my opinion, exotic armor should have some default states: 1 - Default Class Based Exotic 1a - Class Exotic Armor will not specialize in a Sub Class, instead opting to improve the generic play-ability of the class. I.E The armor will improve Super Regeneration, Class Ability Regeneration Etc. 2 - Sub Class Based Exotic 2a - An Example would be the Young Ahamkara's Spine, which improves Tripmines, but it would be better if it improved all Grenades for that Subclass. These are just a few examples.

Problem isn't oem, it's that no other exotic offers very much in PvP for titans, there's only 3 that are worth considering for anything other than novelty builds, oem, insurmountable skullfort, and armamentarium. And both of those are more niche than oem, mostly see skullfort on apes, and arma' on dual suppressor titans. Me personally I main peacekeepers, because I run antiope-fighting lion, and when I do it right, I never have to reload, have major speed bonuses to both skating and strafing while holding the smg, and generally do well and have fun, but that's my personal novelty build.

does the OEM work in PvE. I tried and nothing happened. Overall I see many people using it in PvE:/
-
6 RepliesIf you want oem to get nerfed again nerf spectral aids again 👍🏿
-
The last thing Titans need is one less option when they don't have many to begin with. Besides, OEM isn't even that good. It works better in the PvE side of Gambit than it does in PvP.
-
According to Bungies philosophy of nerfing overused stuff to make terrible stuff more viable it's only a matter of time before this, Stompees and the warlock boots get nerfed.
-
9 RepliesYou seem mad because of the spectral aids nerf and next week the Luna nerf 😂 there goes 2 of the most used crutches

Give us back Twilight Garrison then we’ll talk. And buff our other mediocre to bad Exotics and we’ll talk.

no need a rework
