2 RepliesI found a perfect way around the terrible progression system in this game. Just play on one character. If I ever return to destiny I'll delete two of my least favourite characters and stick with only one.

Kinda lame when we get to wear our best gear only for a few weeks at top level before going back through the process of "wear blues and shitty purples, or burn through cores on the way up". That's almost all it is anymore.

Gear leveling is an artificial time filler. Not to mention leveling up is horrendous in its current state.

It’s only an extra 50 light lvl though if you’re at 700. I have 700 Hunter 687 Warlock 665 Titan I’m not to phased at that higher gear will drop. Bungee know they are losing players and without a level increase would send more fleeing from a sinking ship. Personally I’d like to chill at 700 for a while , I said it at 650 too. 😔

dreading it. mostly because THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO POINT IN POWER INCREASE. none. the only reason it's there is to get their player numbers up. there is no reason that the light level should have increased to 700 in the first place. the only time it should increase is full DLC's. not these stupid little updates we have been getting.

It's the singular worst part of every release. I mean I get why they do it, it's an artificial way to extend the release by making you grind all the old content for powerful rewards. Honestly though it won't be that bad as long as the powerful rewards don't drop at +1 like they did last time before Bungie fixed it. That +1 nonsense is what demoralized players and sapped them of their motivation to grind out another 50 levels. As long as that stays fixed, I'll suck it up and do it again. There are SOOOOO many sources of powerful rewards now so it's not that bad.

6 RepliesI have played all destiny content until now and for the first time ever I actually wont bother with the next dlc. Destiny is too predictable, same meta, same classes, same enemies, same weapons, pve content is a but dry and dragged out. It just feels like destiny is being milked at this point. I love destiny but man Im not feeling it anymore, I occasionally get on the forums to see what people have to say and I’m happy I’m not the only one feeling this way

The power increase may bring some folk back albeit temporarily and then they'll pop back to The Division 2 or Borderlands or something that isn't Destiny. Think I may take up cross-stitching 😂

2 RepliesNope. Since the devs refuse to remove cores, I basically refuse to play their way. I gave up on worrying about leveling up, which used to be one of the most fulfilling parts of the game before Forsaken. Honestly, I haven't really played much since I got the Arbalest and it will likely stay that way unless some other interesting event or quest is introduced. They've won, they've worn me out, they've turned a game that I used to adore into something I'm beginning to talk about through gritted teeth. Tired of spending my free time on the Vance/Spider farm because they're unwilling to give up their boring time sink so I can use gear I like and have rightfully earned.

1 ReplyNot dreading it, because I stopped playing this game as an RPG (IOW, intentionally trying to level up) three months ago. This game's progression is broken. I believe the mindset behind its creation was manipulative and predatory....and its a dealbreaker for me. I will not play this game as an RPG, nor will I give Bungie any more money until there is a REAL fix for cores. By a REAL fix, I mean they are either removed from the cost of infusion.....or they are made FREELY farmable like all the other currencies used for infusion.

In destiny 2 the power level increase feels like nothing more than a fight to get rid of a constant debuff, and a door between you and new and interesting content, a door that takes far to long to finally kick open. In destiny 1 the power leveling actually felt like you were getting stronger, because you were. Being a higher level meant that older content that had a lower level was noticeably easier. This meant that you could go back to older content and help people out who had been having troubles, and you felt like you were the big and powerful player coming in to help. You were the iron man to their spiderman, you had been there, done it, and yes you had the knowledge, but you also had far more strength due to building yourself up over all that time. Getting a higher level wasn't just about getting rid of a debuff, but also gaining a kind of buff. It wasn't just a door in the way of new content, but also a way of making older content far more doable and easier to help people with.

Dang it!! I wasn't and now I am!! Just got my second toon pretty darn close. Feeling pretty good about it. Was even going to start on my warlock. But what's the point? I have to get to 750!? For no good reason. That does suck.

1 ReplyNope. It's fine. I quit playing March 9th, so it doesn't matter to me at all. I hope everyone enjoys inching your level up each week running around in the Bungie hamster ball doing 9+ month old content (i.e. Strikes, Patrols, Bounties, Crucible modes, Crucible maps and Adventures) over and over and over.
