EDIT: I'm laughing at all the screaming pissbabies in the comments.
"YOU JUST ARENT GOOD AT GAMBIT!!!!!!!!" And I don't care to GET good at it because it's a boring ass mode that nobody plays properly.
"JUST GO PLAY OTHER GAMES!!!!!!" Why should I have to? I bought Destiny 2 because they promised it would expand on and take feedback on Destiny 1 into consideration during development and I loved Destiny 1. Why should I say "lmao okay bungie have my money for free and don't give me the game you sold to me, it's okay"? I want Destiny 2 to be the best it can be and it objectively is not.
"IT TAKES TIME TO DEVELOP NEW CONTENT AND THE ANNUAL PASS WAS UNDER ACTIVISION!!!!!" And they could have released a community announcement stating that they will release what was already done under Activision because it's already been paid for but there will be a big new update that will be essentially a new expansion coming later on. Instead, with everybody watching and waiting to see what would happen, they release more Gambit and go back to radio silence as usual.
You kids are junkies. You're addicted to Destiny's grind because you've already put so much time in to it that you can't bare to admit you weren't having fun, and so you're letting Bungie continue to exploit you for more cash instead of doing what sane people would do and demand to be treated like an actual customer instead of a crack whore to a pimp.
Look around, the community is in uproar, even with your vote bombing any negative threads like mine, they still come out with hundreds if not thousands of up votes because the community is sick of this shit. We want things to improve, and if you want to continue being spoonfed garbage every few months, you're part of the problem.
Instead of letting Bungie step all over you, imagine how much fun you'd be having if every update was a Taken King or a Rise of Iron or vanilla Forsaken. That's what Destiny 1 was, not this "annual pass" shit. And if Bungie isn't going to make it clear they intend to change for the better, they have not once given us any reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.
So go ahead, keep screaming and whining at me for saying what you think deep down but are too addicted to admit it.
I paid for the pass, I'll play it off and on until I feel like I did enough with it to not feel like I got completely scammed, and then if Bungie doesn't end the year on a high note I'll abandon it to the trash that deserves it.
------------------------------------------
What the actual F*ck were you thinking, Bungie?
No. Seriously. What the actual F*CK???
This is it? This is your triumphant post-Activision update? This is what you have to show everybody who has ever given you the benefit of the doubt and believed it was Activision's greed that made Destiny 2 such a slogfest of pointless tasks and meandering chores as opposed to feeling like we're participating in an actual world with stuff going on in it?
Gambit. Yet another re-hashed exotic from D1. And a horde mode. That you have to play gambit to access.
How about instead of wasting your development time and budget on match-based modes NOBODY asked for, continuously adding more and more versions of those modes NOBODY asked for, and then forcing people who don't want to do them to play them for quests and exotics, you actually work on providing us with new zones to explore, new enemies to fight, a new threat to fight against, and then focus on the modes you ALREADY HAVE and balance them, improve them, make them BETTER so people actually don't mind playing them for quests every now and then?
Forsaken was such a promising start. New big threat, new zone, new story, new enemies...and then it crashed and burned the moment you hit endgame, and instead of working on fixing that and expanding on the huge foundation you just laid for yourselves you decided "you know what would be great? If we ignored EVERYTHING we just did and made people play gambit more."
What the f*ck is wrong with you people?
This isn't the company that made Halo, this isn't the company that made Taken King and Rise of Iron. This is a company that doesn't know what the hell to do with itself, a company that spent too much time under Activision's thumb and ended up thinking like their executives instead of game developers.
You people are an indie studio with legions of people ready to throw money at you for something, ANYTHING worth playing. The sky is the limit for you guys...and you make more gambit.
Bungie, you need to make changes and you need to make them fast. From what I can tell you are fast losing the good will you garnered by leaving Activision and once that's gone you'll have nothing left. I love Destiny, but the game you currently have available to play is objectively not Destiny. It has the same name and setting, but it is not Destiny. Whatever is at the end of this "annual pass" (stop using that -blam!-ing term, you shouldn't be making "annual passes", you should be making expansions) better be incredible. It better introduce a new zone, with new enemies, an engaging story, a slew of balance changes and QoL improvements, content that builds on the foundations Forsaken left, a solid end game loop that people want to keep coming back to instead of endlessly grinding piece by piece to hit max power level only for there to be nothing to do with it, because that's not an end game.
Because if not, you won't have a playerbase anymore. You'll have a few die-hard fanatics who are so brainwashed by your grind machine that they'll do anything and say anything to protect their precious addiction, a game that people won't even be able to talk about the good times without feeling a taste of bile in their mouth, and a looming bankruptcy filing.
But hey...at least you got people to play more gambit, right?

Okay, gambit isn’t even from -blam!-ing D1. Thorn yes. It is here for lore reasons. I would argue this season is mainly about the drifter. It happens that drifter is the vendor for gambit. So gambit is going to be involved. And you are judging an entire content drop only a few days after it’s released with not all the content out yet. Imho doesn’t make sense as you are essentially judging stuff you haven’t even done yet. Are there issues? Obviously, nothings perfect. But is it bad? Personally I think not. Some nerfs were a little surprising (whisper) but I’m not totally against it. I think 12 total shots would’ve been better but if it’s 9 that just stressed the importance of hitting crits. It has some drawback. They buffed a lot of stuff too (1k, BT, 2TF, Trace rifles, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, shotguns, etc.) And the gambit prime weapons, WHILE THEY ARE WAY TO HARD AND RARE TO GET, are really nice. Along with the new weapon perks. But still I think it is wrong to judge an entire content release by a few days of playing. Now tier 3 I could excuse because that is a continuation of tier 2 and tier 1. But allegiance quests, cutscenes and dialogue and lore, and I think a few other things are still unavailable that we haven’t done yet. -

Lighten up my man. I understand you don't like it but this update was more than likely locked in before they split from Activision.

14 RepliesEdited by Criewolf: 3/9/2019 2:35:13 PMThat was an overly intense critique, don’t you think? A little too dramatic in my opinion lol. I don’t think it’s nearly that serious. The annual pass was something Bungie cooked up when Activision was still their publisher, so it’s safe to say that whatever content you’re seeing is not a product of the “free” Bungie that we have now. Not saying that anything would be so drastically different but we haven’t given them enough time to see where their new creative freedom might take the game. And as always, it’s a choice to play the game. Nobody is holding a gun to your head. And as for the content in annual pass, I think you’re expecting it to be on a DLC level, where I think it was intended to be something to keep people on the hook who still enjoy the endless grind until they release an actual DLC. I’m not saying the game is without its issues but it’s nice to see that Bungie is constantly making efforts to improve and evolve the game, not me saying that every decision they make is perfect but the effort is there, and really I don’t think I’ve ever seen another looter shooter on the same level.

Wow you guys are dumb.

Edited by marcran75: 3/9/2019 6:03:08 PMI’m sorry but you’re a complete -blam!-ing moron if you thought we were actually going to get something tremendous with this update. They laid out exactly what to expect at the beginning of Y2. You seriously thought that in the mere month or so since the Activision split that we would get something incredible and different than what was laid out?! We won’t see anything that doesn’t have Activision’s fingerprints all over it until after Season of Opulence and once again you are a complete -blam!-ing moron for your extremely unrealistic expectations!!
-
7 RepliesSeason of the Drifter and likely Season of Opulence were designed, programmed, and finished long before Bungie left Activision. They did not totally rework the already finished DLC just because they left. The first non-Activision Destiny content is likely to be whatever comes after Season of Opulence.

Edited by W33DEDPLAGUE: 3/9/2019 6:00:57 PMFirst of all, the joke title is so bad. Secondly, this pass is still tied to Activision. It was part of the deal before they split and think what you want, but this dlc was obviously not developed only post-activision. Thirdly, why is it so hard for people to understand the season pass? Tired of trying to explain it but Forsaken is the game until the next big exoansion. This pass is extra content until then. So, no worlds, no story missions, no strikes. They couldn't kept up a pace of major content drops every three months. They explained this whole idea thoroughly but some chose to ignore it, most it seems. But sorry, sounds like it's over for you because the next season will not contain any of the stuff you say it should either. You talk about others and their "precious addiction" but you seem to be the one who is really bitter. Forsaken endgame is the best we've ever had so no idea what you are talking about there. It's just beyond hilarious that they explained how things were going to work this year, yet most players don't seem to understand it. BTW, to answer your question, no, this isn't it. There is still many things coming in this season, which people would know if they looked at the roadmap just one time.

This dlc hasn’t been out a week yet. If you are still unhappy after most if not all the content has been released then that’s valid but I really don’t see a reason to be complaining right now. I haven’t had any real issue with the dlc so far there isn’t real criticism it’s just people complaining. So to criticize the dlc so far... I would’ve personally added new strikes and crucible maps. Also a raid in the unknown space could’ve been so awesome to play in.

1 ReplyYou know that everything on D2 is still in cooperation with Activision? D3 is bungies solo thing.

2 RepliesReckoning is pretty fun. I'm excited to see what tier 3 brings and if more is to come as far as reckoning goes. Tier 2 was pretty fun but will get old quick if that's all the reckoning is.
