EDIT: I'm laughing at all the screaming pissbabies in the comments.
"YOU JUST ARENT GOOD AT GAMBIT!!!!!!!!" And I don't care to GET good at it because it's a boring ass mode that nobody plays properly.
"JUST GO PLAY OTHER GAMES!!!!!!" Why should I have to? I bought Destiny 2 because they promised it would expand on and take feedback on Destiny 1 into consideration during development and I loved Destiny 1. Why should I say "lmao okay bungie have my money for free and don't give me the game you sold to me, it's okay"? I want Destiny 2 to be the best it can be and it objectively is not.
"IT TAKES TIME TO DEVELOP NEW CONTENT AND THE ANNUAL PASS WAS UNDER ACTIVISION!!!!!" And they could have released a community announcement stating that they will release what was already done under Activision because it's already been paid for but there will be a big new update that will be essentially a new expansion coming later on. Instead, with everybody watching and waiting to see what would happen, they release more Gambit and go back to radio silence as usual.
You kids are junkies. You're addicted to Destiny's grind because you've already put so much time in to it that you can't bare to admit you weren't having fun, and so you're letting Bungie continue to exploit you for more cash instead of doing what sane people would do and demand to be treated like an actual customer instead of a crack whore to a pimp.
Look around, the community is in uproar, even with your vote bombing any negative threads like mine, they still come out with hundreds if not thousands of up votes because the community is sick of this shit. We want things to improve, and if you want to continue being spoonfed garbage every few months, you're part of the problem.
Instead of letting Bungie step all over you, imagine how much fun you'd be having if every update was a Taken King or a Rise of Iron or vanilla Forsaken. That's what Destiny 1 was, not this "annual pass" shit. And if Bungie isn't going to make it clear they intend to change for the better, they have not once given us any reason to give them the benefit of the doubt.
So go ahead, keep screaming and whining at me for saying what you think deep down but are too addicted to admit it.
I paid for the pass, I'll play it off and on until I feel like I did enough with it to not feel like I got completely scammed, and then if Bungie doesn't end the year on a high note I'll abandon it to the trash that deserves it.
------------------------------------------
What the actual F*ck were you thinking, Bungie?
No. Seriously. What the actual F*CK???
This is it? This is your triumphant post-Activision update? This is what you have to show everybody who has ever given you the benefit of the doubt and believed it was Activision's greed that made Destiny 2 such a slogfest of pointless tasks and meandering chores as opposed to feeling like we're participating in an actual world with stuff going on in it?
Gambit. Yet another re-hashed exotic from D1. And a horde mode. That you have to play gambit to access.
How about instead of wasting your development time and budget on match-based modes NOBODY asked for, continuously adding more and more versions of those modes NOBODY asked for, and then forcing people who don't want to do them to play them for quests and exotics, you actually work on providing us with new zones to explore, new enemies to fight, a new threat to fight against, and then focus on the modes you ALREADY HAVE and balance them, improve them, make them BETTER so people actually don't mind playing them for quests every now and then?
Forsaken was such a promising start. New big threat, new zone, new story, new enemies...and then it crashed and burned the moment you hit endgame, and instead of working on fixing that and expanding on the huge foundation you just laid for yourselves you decided "you know what would be great? If we ignored EVERYTHING we just did and made people play gambit more."
What the f*ck is wrong with you people?
This isn't the company that made Halo, this isn't the company that made Taken King and Rise of Iron. This is a company that doesn't know what the hell to do with itself, a company that spent too much time under Activision's thumb and ended up thinking like their executives instead of game developers.
You people are an indie studio with legions of people ready to throw money at you for something, ANYTHING worth playing. The sky is the limit for you guys...and you make more gambit.
Bungie, you need to make changes and you need to make them fast. From what I can tell you are fast losing the good will you garnered by leaving Activision and once that's gone you'll have nothing left. I love Destiny, but the game you currently have available to play is objectively not Destiny. It has the same name and setting, but it is not Destiny. Whatever is at the end of this "annual pass" (stop using that -blam!-ing term, you shouldn't be making "annual passes", you should be making expansions) better be incredible. It better introduce a new zone, with new enemies, an engaging story, a slew of balance changes and QoL improvements, content that builds on the foundations Forsaken left, a solid end game loop that people want to keep coming back to instead of endlessly grinding piece by piece to hit max power level only for there to be nothing to do with it, because that's not an end game.
Because if not, you won't have a playerbase anymore. You'll have a few die-hard fanatics who are so brainwashed by your grind machine that they'll do anything and say anything to protect their precious addiction, a game that people won't even be able to talk about the good times without feeling a taste of bile in their mouth, and a looming bankruptcy filing.
But hey...at least you got people to play more gambit, right?

yes, i agree totally

Yep.🤣

Upvote for truth!

1 ReplyYeah regrind the same content for a month for the FIFTH time since launch. 5 DLC cycles and the only way to progress, the entire point of a looter shooter, is to do the same thing for a month straight you just did 3 months ago. Oh and also without any new crucible maps or strikes. You know excluding the Court of Oryx rehashes they throw in every now and then to satisfy the hardcore addicts who will never quit no matter what blunders Bungie makes.

Yeah, I agree with all of this. My Destiny break continues.

3 RepliesEdited by GalaxySpider: 3/11/2019 3:56:22 PMForsaken had a full year, if not more, of development. The fact that is is even bigger than TKK showed how much time and passion they invested in. In literally the same time btw. Yet I can imagine they pulled a lot of manpower from their other projects for that. Before you insult the devs or even players liking this game, learn how game development works or at least what it takes to make videogames. The Kingsfall Raid in D1 alone(!) took them one year. And I don't even wana know how long they were sitting on The Last Wish Raid. And you sound as if you expect a Rise of Iron sized DLC every, what, 3 months or so? Even huge MMOs like WoW only gets one bigDLC a year. So you better have a content drought for several months(!!) going on (post Taken King) rather than having something to do/play via the annual pass drops? People like you are out of their mind. You get nothing: you complain. You get something: you complain. So what? Get your **** together.

-
I have a decent time with it, but I only play twice a week. There's more than enough content for that kind of playtime.
-
Oh... God forbid people are aloud to like a game you don't. F*cking idiot!

Hence why you are seeing them now. But I do think they should innovate and be more creative with it and add other types of content like shattered throne dungeons. As for the story content and new locations. Curse of osiris and warmind did exactly that remember around this time last year?. Bungie did not deliver on those and they werent received well by the playerbase. Hence why they opted out of regular new story and location expansions. The whole point of the annual pass was just to add bits to the endgame. They did not mention new strikes, story, new eneimes etc. This is just obvious of course. Should they add new locations, story, strikes, enemies etc? Yes they definitely should. Why did they opt out from doing that for dlc? Again, look back at CoO and warmind. That and they likely lack the man power and resources for whatever reason by the looks of it. And cant keep up with regular good content updates. Also, this isnt "the triumphant post activision update". Bungie are still working with vicarious visions for penumbra. Anything after that is the post activision update.

Or ya know... people are just playing the game because it's fun? You do realize that just because you're enjoying it that others aren't. I'm personally having a great time. I enjoy everything, and am excited for future content. Yes, I've grinded this game to a pulp. Yes, sometimes it's boring. But, I've put 65 days into this game because it's -blam!-ing fun. Not because I'm too "addicted" to it to stop playing. I'm playing this game because I enjoy it. Bungie is trying something new. The Annual Pass is something new that Bungie is experimenting with. Were you required to buy the Annual Pass? No. And yet, you continue to complain and bitch because you're not getting what you want. Joker's Wild was being made before Forsaken released, so how would they know that some people may not like Gambit? And when they did find out, they wouldn't up and cancel all the work they've done. P.S. You don't get to decide what people enjoy P.P.S. Maybe you could make something better? (sarcasm)

Edited by Xienthius: 3/11/2019 10:03:21 PMAnnual pass wasn't meant to really bring in new enemies etc. Whereas, Forsaken is an EXPANSION. It expanded the story unlike what these annual pass DLC's release. I saw quite a few ask for changes in Gambit. because it was a breath of fresh air from the repetitive feeling of PvE, and the -blam!-ed up issues with crucible. And it actually brought PvE players and PvP players closer to playing with eachother a bit more. Everybody knew Season of the Drifter would involve mainly Gambit. So anybody who is surprised with this is on them. not Bungie.(Can already tell people will jump at this statement before even using their heads of what it means. But hey, go ahead! There's a challenge for ya. Can you think clearly enough to figure it out?) I do agree with you to an extent, however. Bungie aren't listening to us. They are making updates on what they THINK we want. But in the end, I didn't expect much from this Annual pass. Not like I would from a expansion like Forsaken. And I will never expect much until the next Expansion.

That's what Destiny 1 was, not this "annual pass" shit.[/quote] You conveniently ignored TDB and HoW, my dude with the rose-colored glasses. You're also ignoring that if Forsaken is Destiny 2's TTK, Annual Pass content is Destiny's April Update, not RoI. So I'm shocked that anyone is taking you seriously.

That's what Destiny 1 was, not this "annual pass" shit. [/i] Destiny 1 was most definitely not. Lol. Dark below? House of wolves? Those were practically annual passes. Stop looking at D1 through rose tinted glasses. As fun as it was, those DLCs took an entire year to create AND pretending D1 was absolutely perfect in year one is laughable. It was a fun mess but not perfect at all. Remember that dry spell of content between the April 2016 update and ROI? NOTHING HAPPENED! That’s why the annual pass is there. To provide content through those periods.

2 RepliesSeriously? You think the developers just wake up and go... hm, what will I develop today? I know, let's make a season of the drifter. Then, after lunch I'll make a cut scene, and nerf fusion rifles at 3.30 - 3.35pm. All on the post it note beside their bed. Development takes time. Years, even. That's why it's called "development," and not "production." It is a long, draw out process that needs to be micro-managed at every step. Put a comma instead of a full stop, and you have to go right back to square one. This entire annual pass was already in development maybe a year ago. If they scrapped it and focused only on post Activision stuff, there would be at least a year with no new content, maybe 1.5 years. You won't start seeing the post Activision Bungie until the backlog is cleared.

Edited by Hatter: 3/11/2019 11:57:48 AMPeople on this forum, maybe. Ok don't know if you know how development works.

I've Noticed an increase in people with sped up game clock mods and Aimbot. Wish Bungie made a console version that didn't make my eyes bleed.

This Season is the worst not because of the content but because of the joke of a community. They are some of the most garbage ass jokes I have had the pleasure of playing with in any game ever. I guess I found out why they called this Season Jokers Wild. Cause Bungie lets these fking jokes go wild in a game mode that requires a small amount of actual brain power to play.

9 RepliesI’m really confused by this post. Spend more time developing new enemies and places to explore... didn’t Bungie EXPLICITLY say that Annual Pass expansions were going to be much smaller, with little to no new areas or enemies? The content is mostly endgame grind, right? So an endgame version of Gambit and Gambit balances - which people have asked for for a while, despite what you seem to think? - paired with a hoard mode - which people have been asking for FOR A LONG TIME BTW - seems pretty good to me, especially just at the first week of launch? I’m just kinda confused at what the complaint here is. Bungie gave what they promised: small content updates and more endgame grind, plus some new content. If you don’t like Gambit, well and fine, but stop acting like the company is burning to the ground because you can’t bank your motes.
