Okay, I'll give a better reason then: the gun belongs to a guy who hunts down the people that try to use the Darkness's power, people like the Drifter and his old crew. Why would they make us play a mode that conflicts with the owner's morals?

The same reason we'd use a banned weapon in the Crucible: It doesn't matter.

Except that we have to be given TLW by its previous owner, and why would he ask us to partcipate in an activity that opposes his goals?

Edited by Rokon: 1/30/2019 2:32:12 AMWhy isn't the questline given to us by its previous owner, but instead from the Drifter?

Because the Drifter believed it to be a quest for Thorn, or something similar. Go watch a lore video on it or something.

It should have been given by Amanda. I agree that part is odd.

Edited by HytekzOG: 1/29/2019 10:30:48 PMWe're not surprised, people are angry because of the impeding progress when defeated in Crucible which honestly is something Bungie needs to refrain doing as it makes things even harder for players who haven't been around long enough to achieve specific exotics or legendary weapons that perform as well as most people, cant take a legendary you got from a prime engram and expect it to be as good as something from a raid, black armory or an exotic quest based in content some players don't mean the requirements for. There is a lot of players in that boat and it makes this quest next to impossible since you're not on an even playing field and you won't climb in progress as fast as you'll lose it. There is also a lot of players who haven't been able to complete those exotic quests for guns that are top tier in PvP. I personally just use Trust and Ace of Spades, as my preferred hand cannons in Crucible which are fairly easy to get so seeing a exotic quest like this where I can lose progress I refrain from doing it as you can be doing good then suddenly get bad games with randoms and lose all your progress which to me is like playing the lottery and I don't want that in a video game it's why I hate loot boxes in games, I don't want to play with chance(s) of acquiring something especially when time is a valuable resource everyone has in life till we pass and I don't want to waste it when I can play the game and have fun during my time instead of migraines and not winning the lottery.

Edited by ravenvelvet: 1/29/2019 10:26:08 PMIt's an endgame expansion though. New players are not, by definition , either geared up or experienced enough to tackle end game content. That said, light levels don't count here so anyone good enough with their blues should be ok. I'm sorry but I don't think the "new player" argument holds water. Edit: spelling

so why you care what PvE players wish and wants. For example finished collection. Annual pass is extra paid content, but it brings very small amount of content and even that quest is not for most casuals and strictly pve players. same as izanagi was mostly impossible for solo players.
-
I care because I'm really into the lore of the game. Despite what Bungie have done with it, Joe Staten and his team's original creation is a magnificent piece of sci fi. As a result, I get irked when pve players ask bungie to piss all over the lore in order to make the game easier for them. And your example might not be the best. I'm an old fart but I still solo'd izanagi's burden (aside from the bits you have to matchmake for). If an old fart can solo shatteted throne and brakion, it's a long way short of "mostly impossible" surely?
