Dear Bungie - A letter from your fans regarding Niobe Labs
We want to play your game. Not watch streamers play it for us. This kind of secret puzzle is great as a hidden element inside a release, but terrible as the only content of a release. Even as a "micro-release" this is a waste of everyones time. Your twitch viewership does not actually influence how we play this game. This is beyond disapointing. Your drip feed of season pass content is proving to be a terrible experience. Please stop telling us how you want us to play your game and let us experience it for ourselves.

Edit #2 - As of 5pm PST yesterday Bungie has decoupled the puzzle completion from the final forge access based on community feedback. Thanks to your support, they heard us, and responded by allowing everyone access to the content. I think this is a win for the community and fingers crossed, this debacle will influence how they roll out future content.

4 RepliesBungie just going from bad to worse, as each consecutive release comes along, did they learn nothing from our comments concerning Black armory, it's a pathetically miniscule amount of content, and WTF shooting symbols and letters I certainly did NOT ASK OR PAY FOR THIS 💩. Anthem cannot arrive fast enough for me.

1 ReplyI think it would be fine if this thing unlocked some surprise activity/strike/gambit or crucible maps/etc that we didn't even know about, but it is kind of lame that no one can play the 4th forge until someone figures this out. Would have preferred Niobe Labs be something like Shattered Throne and be something at least 68% of the playerbase could reasonably tackle, but, it is what it is. I'll be waiting! Ain't nobody got time for dat.

Like maybe completely stuff out in the world unlocks hints for the people working on the puzzle? That way it's more of a community event instead of bungie just trying to boost their favorite streamers views

All hope has been obliterated by what seems to be over exaggerated fixes to player based concerns. Players say they want the content to last and to add secret content to figure out. Bungie's answer: to time gate an entire expansion and not let players complete the Non-storyline based activity unless they figure out a puzzle that hasn't even been explained. Guess we all have to watch out favorite streamer to figure it out, then spend another 10 minutes fathoming the fact that those streamers have been trained by the CIA to decrypt bamboo, pagoda, and butterfly symbols. From here on out if anyone asks me if they should purchase this game, I will just remind them of the donkey with the carrot dangling in front of him.."Don't be a "donkey""

It was literally made for people that do it for a living Why not make the progression similar to the whisper quest? Secretive, but still really fun and engaging (imo)

Personally, I just didn’t buy the pass, I will when I reach the endgame, soI will get all the content at once. But I do think that the puzzle is ok as long as it is not the only thing. Perhaps they just need the twitch views for investors. If so, I just hope that the actual player base gets something out of this.

I did not buy the Annual Pass and I am happy. You know what? When VOG was completed we were jumping inside to find secrets. These are the secrets and mystery we like. Have great fun in a great, mythic, epic raid, and solve puzzles later as easter eggs. Now the Easter Eggs are the content. I am in only for PVP

Bungie “we are listening” Us “no time gates or static rolled weapons” Bungie time gates everything and all pinnacle weapons have static rolls. I miss the days when I scheduled off work to actually play content cause it was accessible when it dropped. I have been in this abusive relationship with Bungie for years. I understand the company as whole has a leadership problem. I Understand they lie ! I’ve paid attention to gaming industry this last year and I saw a lot of gamers stand up to big companies Bethesda, EA and activision. I can’t wait for the revolution against Bungie. I see more an more destiny fans waking up.

I don’t understand the hate on streamers. They are not the only smart ones or ones with time on their hands. People just like you and I have been putting their heads together as a community to figure our raids and secrets like outbreak prime and destiny 1’s sleeper simulant. You guys give streamers too much credit. They’re human just like you. ;)

6 RepliesI find it funny that so many are pissed. Didn’t outbreak prime take like 2 weeks or more to figure out. Or the valkery that was planted in new York. These are all the same and take thousands to figure out. I don’t think it’s a streamers fault because there is no streamer alive that could figure this on there own. It’s a community puzzle the streams are just a good localized place to see what people are trying you can go to reddit twitter or what ever source to get caught up and try things your self. Then add to the list of what you have contributed. Just relax watch someone, read, or contribute. There are worse things to worry about than some exotic quest.

To be honest I really like it! I’m hoping it’s not solved by Friday so I can have a proper go at it. Got to level 3 with a mate but we needed a third and none of our clan were on. Love seeing the Reddit community get their teeth into something like this, wish I was on their level mentally 😂😂
