Dear Bungie - A letter from your fans regarding Niobe Labs
We want to play your game. Not watch streamers play it for us. This kind of secret puzzle is great as a hidden element inside a release, but terrible as the only content of a release. Even as a "micro-release" this is a waste of everyones time. Your twitch viewership does not actually influence how we play this game. This is beyond disapointing. Your drip feed of season pass content is proving to be a terrible experience. Please stop telling us how you want us to play your game and let us experience it for ourselves.
Edit #1 - A divided response. Thats great, and expected, it keeps the conversation moving forward. Please keep it civil, we're all here because we love this game and expect big things from it.
Edit #2 - As of 5pm PST yesterday Bungie has decoupled the puzzle completion from the final forge access based on community feedback. Thanks to your support, they heard us, and responded by allowing everyone access to the content. I think this is a win for the community and fingers crossed, this debacle will influence how they roll out future content.

i think what is the best solution bungies idea lets make a quest for 1% of our gamers and streamers casuals and the the other i guess 90% hmm i can t play thes e activity i only can the old same stuff what could we do just dont play for 2-5 days show em who in community is on longer lever let us be the yellow jackets like the guys from france in gaming just let the game rest for a few days i do already there a old fun games out there like mass affekt i know the poit u paid for it but they wont change it let the streamers play they will run in a few problems in short time when enough people stop not enough in pvp not enough for random in matchmarking this game has so many issues the only thing bungie say s we are investigating we know it is our first time yeah right

I dont understand whats going on with the community in destiny, you got upset when there was no grind, now your getting upset because there is too much of a grind, i really dont understand some people. You people that got upset wanted this stuff in the game, now your spitting your dummies out because its too hard to do, you people asked for this now deal with it. Sometimes saying nothing is the best course of action. This is what happens when you cry wolf too much lol.

How did the streamers dictate anything here? No one was forced to sit back unless you just didn't have the time. That I understand. But a lot of people were having fun trying to solve it even if the input was way off lol. Do I think the puzzle gating off the content was right? Nah not really. I also REALLY enjoyed hearing the researched solutions and thinking about the puzzle. Still though, I would love to understand why streamers dictated anything. Seemed like they spent 24+ hours trying their best to unlock this content for everyone.

3 RepliesTbh it was the first time I even bothered to watch Twitch, kinda enjoyed them trying to work it out. Datto’s stream was in my phone while I was playing just so I could be in the loop on what was going on. I’m not someone who cares if we can’t access content right away, they could release the new forge in a month for all I care.

This is no compelling end game content and definitely not content accessible at a commitememt by social casual fans and players...and worse for a solo grinder. Bungie gave us a fun shooter/looter you could play with your friends. Now its is a grindy snore fest of time gates, lame puzzles, and quests!!! Anyway. I know better. Bungie dropped the ball. Point. Blank. I stooooopidly purchased the season pass as a pre order...but thats it. Wont be back next year. Wont be back for any destiny future release. So this guardian that has 5000 hours plus easy im destiny. Ran a clan. Sherpa`d and was a cheerleader for this game is out next year and not coming back. I advise you all do the same.

People use the excuse for Bungie that we'd all just beat the content and complain that there's no content. That's the minority who complain about lack of content. Most people move on to another game or continue the grind for whatever they're after in destiny. Either is perfectly fine, as long as we aren't being dragged through at whatever pace that Bungie decide to set for us. It's a game, you're ruining the immersion by forcing us to stop for no reason aside from you wanting to stretch content out because you can't be -blam!-ed doing story and shit like that anymore, no excuse. Here's my thoughts on the matter. Why can't we play through at our own pace? If you're gonna complain that you've beaten everything the game has to offer in 3 days, that's your problem isn't it? That being said, if BA weren't stretched out there'd be complaints about the length but they'd be justified as hell. "expanding the end game"? No. This is not expanding the end game, and expanding the end game would work best if there were story to explain just why these things are all happening and would have actual character development for Ada-1 rather than, "I hate you, now I kinda trust you, you're my best friend now", which is absolutely terrible. BA is short as hell, the actual end game we have from this "expansion" is shorter and almost doesn't exist when you see that when you take out the reused old content for unlocking forges all you have is 3 forges that literally function the same with a different boss at the end. 1 forge is new, the others are reused content from the first forge. The symbols could have been cool if anyone knew what the deal was with them or if the game explained anything about them and the labs that Bungie hyped up and seemingly forgot to mention that there's been literally no preparation for. It's not a dungeon not is it a raid, so anyone defending it as if it's either of those can leave now. It's clearly meant to be solved by the few who can. "But any average player could solve it, stop complaining", how bout you think about that for a second. The 99% of us who have no idea what's going on could solve a puzzle that these guys who run raids blind for world's first can't solve? Sure.

1 ReplyWell, let's think about it. I'm at the point where I have to do all the stupid puzzles for Labia Labs. No. I have all the weapons. Let's face it. They suck. Other than maybe Hammerhead, any of the Lack Forge weapons can be compared to any other random roll legendaries out there. So far, I've yet to see anything better than my God roll Bygones that Rain Man gave me in Gambit. I was one of the suckers who paid for the season pass. So, instead of playing Tomb Raider in Labia Labs, I'll just wait until the next update and bypass the crappy weapons anyways. I'm at level 650. I get sweet F-A for exotics. So why worry. Does the Labia Labs sniper rifle in all the YouTube posts really look that great? Will it outperform Whisper or Sleeper? Bungie will likely even the playing field with it anyways, as they do everything else. Why bother? Let them have their puzzles - I grew out of that when I was 2. I'll wait until the next update, and the legendaries then will out-level any of the Labia Labs garbage, anyways.

3 Repliesi just cant believe how f*%$ing dumb bungie really are. for the most part i enjoy playing solo when my clan is away and i was really looking forward to the quest to the fourth forge (at last something too do i thought) loaded up after reset all ready to grind out what needed doing only to be told we cant do F all till someone completes the code my clan has all but vanished (cant blame them) so no chance of opening the forge what a HUGE F'in let down i want to play not sit around waiting for a streamer to do all the work i honestly cant wait for anthem to drop im so so so sick to death of bungie and there stupid F'in idea's that are ruining the game for all solo players

puzzles and things like that need to be used only in raids. outside of raids content like shattered throne and whisper quest need to be more of a thing. I mean, I would like to see 3 man dungeons that have a chance of dropping dungeon specific loot akin to the strike specific loot in d1. they don't need to be tied to dlc either, just release them for the community to find say one every couple of months. this is what the community would be interested in I would imagine. have them be leveled as end game and let players grind away.

I think the main problem with this puzzle is that even with the monitors giving a hint, it was too much trial and error. That coupled with the fact that you had to start from Level 1 everytime you failed a puzzle. I guarantee you, if the groups got reset to the wave they failed, Niobe would've been solved long before the 24 hour mark.
