snipers are better than shotguns in a good players hands.
the problem is no one knows how to use a sniper and people think they should be able to drop 50s with one. Sniping just takes more practice to learn the basics which make it useable in crucible. shotguns can be picked up and be usable in crucible even for people who haven't used them before.
sniping is extremely good in the hands of someone who can use them and hit their shots.
flinch doesn't need a huge reduction however a small reduction would be nice. if you react after than the person shooting you flinch isn't a problem

I like using a sniper for sure in crucible, until recently all I use to use was a Crimson and Widow’s Bite sniper in pvp for the most part. Shotgun users can be a bit tricky to deal with but I try my best to keep my distance, make use of grenades etc. But I do have to say I would like to see more map variety as I find quite a few maps favour shotguns.

I think the maps aren't too bad. its just snipers takes more practice and skill to use than shotgunning which is why everyone complains.
