If I'm defending why does it take me longer to spawn up to defend? The enemy team already spawns closer with a quicker res? Da fuq? Heavy spawn should be once a game in a game mode like this. AND STOP GIVING ME THE SAME GAME MODE ON THE SAME MAP UMPTEEN TIMES IN A ROW!

I mean, if you’re willing to listen.... All I used to play was Halo, I’ve played CoD (though I prefer halo, and still do) I’ve played CSGO, PUBG, Fortnite... I love PVP and shitting on kids. I don’t play PVP in destiny (unless you force me to, Thorn for example) I didn’t touch it in D1 and I had 2500 hours in that game and I sure don’t play it in D2. You have no identity around PVP in destiny and the fundamental flaw in your ignorance is trying to fuse the PVE experience into it. Supers, weapons, abilities, all make the game too dynamic to balance. Is PVP supposed to be a place where we bring our stuff from PVE and can kill each other with it? Cool! Then why also try to make it competitive? And if fusing PVE and PVP is your goal, then own it and stick to it. You have lore that talks about the crucible being a training thing, right? (I don’t claim to be a lore master here so don’t fact check me) if that’s the case then why not have a dedicated weapon pool to PVP that you can actually tune accurately? Why does everyone deserve to get a super? That should be kill quantity based. Why do you get nades that regen? That should be kill based. Stop trying so hard, it doesn’t have to be so “artsy” we are perfectly fine with “Capture the flag” and “king of the hill” it doesn’t matter what it’s called, we don’t need to run and slam a rift. Give us a balanced, rewarding experience that is fun. We won’t ask why, or complain. We’ll just play.

7 RepliesPlayed nothing but gambit today and cashed in all my bounties on one guy and leveled up 2-3 times... all armor pieces. I have reached fabled 3 and still don’t have a trust or a bygones. I did however get black talons on my second game of gambit. And somehow managed to get the ursine gauntlets in my first week. But since then, I have yet to get any other new exotic. It feels like the game suckered me in. And now I know how dismal it is to grind for anything. I bet I freak’n bet that when I do get a trust or bygones, it will be a worthless roll.

Not even D1 was this bad and this is 14 months in D2. Edit: I'm begging to think Bungie pulled another D1 lie, like saying the shotguns were nerfed in crucible and later admitting that they lied about it.

A friend and I have recently gotten back into Comp. We personally really enjoy the Breakthrough game mode. That being said ,the game mode has many issues, I feel like maybe increasing the respawn timer for attackers may help out with some issues for spawn camping.

2 Replieson the broadsword quest last part (reset valor 5 times) and had 4/5 yesterday morning. did in the evening my last reset but the quest did not trigger and it still says 4/5 in the triumph..... WTF????? took me forever to do the whole questline for the broadsword and now I don't get it ???

6 RepliesIt's not the mode so much as other mechanics involved. Breakthrough is a good idea. It (would) make players have to deviate from what they normally do. It let's solo choice making shine over the group decision(which is also important). But with heavy spawning in every 30 seconds, it's not about controlling the breaker, it's about controlling heavy. And sadly breakthrough isn't the only one that this is the case for. It's the same with control and clash. Countdown and survival aren't hit as bad by this cause you are lucky to see heavy 2 times per round. But the other 3 modes... It's not really objectivly competative. Not in the way it should be.

7 RepliesI would ask that Heavy is drastically reduced. To be fair in all gamemodes it should be spawned in the middle of the current fighting zone where both teams have the chance of fighting over it. D1 did this really well. I like the longer spawn timer HOWEVER. As you have based this mode around the CP game mode in Overwatch, I would consider some of their rules like multi hero stacking restrictions. Without the rules in place, the mode would never work. Thats why it was changed so early on in OW lifecycle. I dont even know if you have the capability to do that but it certainly needs reconsidering. Four Nova locks or (heaven forbid) even two blade barrages with Shards of G, mean you are NEVER touching that point due to super recharge and orb gen.

If no one captures the stage 2 vault in the round by time up then the decider is sudden death instead of the team trying to push automatically losing the point. Sudden death wipes all supers + heavy clear from the round in real time (or load to a fresh round with no super or heavy), then the point goes back to the middle. - Capture the point or defeat all opponents. - This would make it more competitive and less campy. Also one heavy per round in a central location. (Just my opinion)

If you had a timer of say 45 secs to hack the vault and the hacking sequence only took maybe 10 secs to complete you would speed up the gameplay a lot more. If after this 40 second window is up and you dont hack the other teams vault then the breaker resets. This gives the defending team a chance to push back out of their spawn and go on offense. You need to give the sense that the game can be flipped and go back and forth if your team gets their shit together. Without any incentive to push back you have lesser skilled or passive teams that just sit back hoping that they can hang on for a defensive win. But that should not be the case. You should never be rewarded for being pushed back into your spawn. The other thing is your team should earn points every time they capture a breaker and or hack the other teams vault. Scoring system should be 1 pt for defending your vault, 2pts for a breaker capture and 2 or 3 pts for vault capture. First team to 10 pts wins. That would make the gameplay more intense when one team has 9 pts and the other team has say 7. The team with 7 is still in it as long as they can push back, capture a breaker and then get the other teams vault. Hopefully you can fix this game mode to make it playable as you are so close to having something really fun here. But you have to stop rewarding passive gameplay in the mode. Encourage teams to go out and capture shit. If they can't do that then they shouldn't be able to win just by sitting back and defending.
