Playing Gambit this morning. First round we summoned our prime and killed it with no problems. Other team barely had 1/3 of their motes.
Second round was considerably more difficult, which isn't really a surprise. It's obvious the game is set up that way.
Third round. The third round was terrible. Waves kept spawning but we couldn't get our prime. I thought it was maybe the invasions. We finally hear that we can summon a prime evil. The other team's prime was half dead but it wasn't impossible to come back. Everyone banks and there's still someone out on the field. Look around and see a hunter jump onto the center platform , dance in front of the bank, wave and then....HE JUMPED OFF THE PLATFORM WITH 14 MOTES!
Round ends. Post match screen comes up and he lost 60 motes.
I'm speechless. It's been bothering me all morning. I may not be able to play Gambit anymore without being triggered.
EDIT: for everyone thinking that I'm literally experiencing PTSD over this, I was joking. Didn't think an over the top statement like that needed a sarcasm tag, my bad. 😁
Thanks for the responses everyone!

4 RepliesEdited by SmashvilleViking: 10/27/2018 12:41:47 AMYou were triggered? It's a videogame. That tells me that you're probably a teenager.

lolol

He probably got ground stomped 10 miles and fell into the abyss every time

2 RepliesYou see this, you see all this stuff OP wrote? You see all the responses? Yeah. Don’t even think about asking for raid matchmaking anymore. This is why we can’t have nice things, because relying on randoms can turn into a total shitshow.

Thats a griefer for you. Some people literally have no life, and thats what they do to make up for it. Just go back to orbit and reenter matchmaking after its over or move on to another activity. Dont let it bother you.

I got a better one for you. Played gambit last night before I went I bed. Planned on finishing a festival bounty you know that stupid one with wear a mask complete on match of gambit. Yea that one. Anyways started playing was doing quite well actually lost both times but doing well. After the first lost. One guy gets pissy shoots everyone in the ship then get on with the match and he does nothing at all. No help sits some where and does nothing. So as much you can hate someone for costing a match how about someone who gets pissed off for no reason then does nothing. So yea got you beat. At least I was trying while wearing a stupid mask.

Gotta love online experiences lol

1 ReplyDid you really just use the word triggered? There will always be jerks online. But you were trolled for one game. Perhaps that was your one chance to get on that day, or even that week. But it was only one game and honestly I wouldn't let one F*$k Head ruin a game for me. I imagine if you are playing a game that kills many things and take pride and fun in digitally killing things, that you are sooooo sensitive that getting trolled once online would "TRIGGER" you and keep you from having fun. I could be wrong killer, perhaps you are more sensitive. God knows there aren't enough sensitive people in today's age, but for your own sake. Get up, shake it off and go shoot some aliens or guardians in the face and keep it moving. Or go friend that prick and troll him. Not that I would encourage such a thing. They probably have feelings too.

That is so weak for someone to do something like that.
-
I’m assuming he wanted heavy or to invade every time... protesting like a child.

3 RepliesWhat sometimes happens is that you have a fireteam of 3 with one rando. Rando leaves so you invite one of your buddies. Because of the matchmaking he doesn’t spawn on your team. He joins the game but gets placed on the other team. He’s talking to your team the whole time the match is going on. My fireteam has had this happen 3x. All 3 times our buddy made sure to die with motes or invade and get zero kills. This scenario is most likely what you experienced.

See, there are sweaties, then there are sweaty D heads, you just happened to encounter a sweaty D head, they’re out there.

Herein lies the real problem, the trolls have relocated from these forums to the game. You know the Destiny is Dead bandwagon. They are systematicly (sp?) ruining all my favorite activities. I love hitting up strikes for leisure, now every strike is floating teammates with my heavy rear slogs thru every add. I wouldn't even care except for the Wanted enemies getting away (we'll just say i'm ocd). Now Gambit is being ruined by some of the worst fireteams i've ever encountered. My new favorite was my teammate shoving me of a pillar so he could grab one mote. Previously it was that mote hoard guy. You probably met him, sits around while we're at 74 and he has 13. For you less abrasive teams ty kindly twas fun.

1 ReplyGet good

I would only do that if my 3 teammates are fire team together and have toxic attitudes. Otherwise, I just go for the challenges/bounties. Don’t care much about the wins or loses.
-
Just a guess but maybe he had a bounty of banking 15 motes lol
-
I am the worst guardian ever and you have not met me yet.

Edited by MenTaL9R: 10/27/2018 12:17:29 AMI came to the forums to see if anyone else was experiencing this. Last night I was in a group with two guys that were in a fireteam together. Combined they died with over 100 motes, not a single deposit. The whole time I was wondering how the heck we were losing so bad... I only started playing Gambit this week because I want to get he Ace of Spades. Thankfully I'm done that part of the quest. Edit: premature post... I want to add that I'll probably still play it, here and there, for the most part I found it fun. That was just one game where these two guys were clearly trolling. I had a couple others where I think there were trolls, or maybe they were just really bad players because they did deposit some motes, it just that they died with triple their deposits.

7 RepliesIn a strike yesterday: 195 kills or something, both of the others combined not even half that. Gambit and solo queuing in PvP bring out the best in players. Never have I subscribed to this ‘cumunidee’ bollocks and whilst I love being team-shot to pieces round every corner and Sleeper-ed over and over for the faintest hope of a hand-cannon drop, I tend not to let the result or what my team-mates are doing bother me too much...

He was probably mad it went to round 3. A lot of people just want their three weekly matches and hate to see it go to the third round. I personally would rather lose two in a row and get a new team than go to a third round to lose again but I will still try to win no matter what.

3 RepliesEdited by Ghostly Q7: 10/27/2018 4:46:46 AMIndeed to be human is to err, sad really.
-
That player was trying to complete his Daily Gambit challenge... and that's just 1 more reason why this game sucks ass.
-
> Where'd you go, psycho boy? > I felt like destroying something beautiful.

Edited by zxionisus: 10/26/2018 10:14:35 PMActually, he lost 63 motes. What a tool. Ironically, he also killed 96 hostiles, which is good. But of course, you have to kill a lot to lose a lot.

Just see it as a random game where competition is more of an illusion than a reality and you won’t get bothered as much by things like this
-
Awful. Just awful. So sorry to hear this, and it would sure bother me too. I hope you can get back to it one day...please try not to let jack a$$e$ like that change your habits...I mean, I would miss the Drifter's ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT :-)
