Ace of spades Invader kills is stupid
So first off, I’m not thinking about winning or motes, I need these 5 kills of invaders with a hand cannon so as soon as I hear we are invaded, that’s all I care about.
Secondly, a lot of invaders just hang back with sleeper or whisper. Also you can’t see them unless they are in plain site and they can see me at all times. I’m meant to close the gap with a hand cannon how?
Thirdly, they also get an overshield.
Stupid. Quest. Requirement.
It just isn’t fun and I’m not worried at all about helping my team win, I just want these 5 kills.

*edit* After a couple hours I had one kill. Problem was most invaders were using sleeper which is an easy one hit kill. That along with having an over shield and using other more powerful weapons or my team mates getting the kill instead with sleeper or finishing off my work, it was really dragging.
Then in one game I just spawn camped one invasion spot (and didn’t bother with our prime evil) and lucky for me they kept spawning there with me behind them. The invaders were obviously even worse than me. I’d grenade their overshield and crimson them. Ended up getting 4 in one game to finish it off.
It’s made me horribly bored of Gambit. Is that really how they want people to play to do these quests? Just like I kept leaving crucible over solstice if there wasn’t enough time for another super when I needed super kills or when I needed my 5 wins, if my team was doing really badly, again, I’d just leave.
I’ll get my 25 head shots in crucible ok, but yuck, hated that Gambit bit.

Sturm, overcharge it with drang. If a warlock, use a rift. It's PvE, not even remotely hard to overcharge the Sturm a few shots. Stop thinking narrowly. Narrow thinking isn't ever going to help you with anything PvP

Use sturm and drang. Overcharge your shots and two tap the invader with an overshield.

Play it smart, stock up 15 notes and bait the invader to target you.

And another shit post of someone bitching about how long it’s gonna take them to do something! Place is getting beyond ridiculous! People moan lack of content blah blah blah and now its all aww this is gonna take forever blah blah blah Its the quest step,deal with it. Oh i got to kill 5 invaders so instantly think i have to kill 5 out of 5 an its done in 1 match! Shit like this isn’t designed to be done in a day,barely been out 48 hours ffs. The quest step doesnt make you camp and ignore the objective,thats just how you choose to go about it. There are more than one way to kill an invader without curling one out in a corner waiting for them.

Got all 5 in my 1st game using the blue hc Allegro. I just sat behind cover until I saw were they were and went after them.

This was shocking for me too, took me nearly 3 hours. At least I gain ranks though. The crucible step only took 3-4 games.

It's amusing that people get all uppity over something like this, but then I have to remember I almost never solo que. And if my group is running something like this, we work together for the objective, so kill stealing isn't an issue. Not sure if they changed things since the preview, or if people are just having worse luck than me, but back during the preview I would routinely take down invaders solo with my Living Memory with a fairly high success rate. If they're using the Wardcliff or Sleeper, they're only deadly at range. And often times I found that simply closing the distance through cover helped imensely, since they focus on the mote holders and not the guy with 2 motes that just banked. I get that the PVP requirements are getting old, but this isn't a quest that is meant to be completed in a few hours. Of course grinding it out over the course of an afternoon would kill your desire for the gamemode. All I can say is there is a ton of other stuff added, no need to focus down this one tiny portion of it. So do what you can when you can.

11 RepliesHere I was just playing gambit for the hell of it and got it completed without really thinking too hard about it. Try to relax on things like this because stressing over it only makes you play worse. I had fun not everybody has the same experience as you and most people won’t struggle as much as you either. Plus if you think five kills is bad just wait till you get to the step that requires you to get 25 headshots in the crucible lol

Ok as amazing and spectacular of a gun ace of spades is it's first step isn't that bad. I mean yes it's troubling and takes time but just stop your crying and go do the damn quest. This isn't a problem that Bungie needs to fix. It's just an issue with you not wanting to work super hard for your exotics. Get. Over. Yourself.

The dumbest thing about it in my opinion is the wording. Should "kills on invaders." But other than that it's fine. Least it isn't Void kills with Atheon's Epilogue.

Tactics win here. Being a spotter and peaking at the 3 load in zones is critical. When an invader enters. You know what sleeper and snipes suck at? Close range, I would hit them with a sticky nade then just pop a few shots in them. Took about 5 matches but it wasnt bad. Same with the 25 HC headshot kills.

Honestly, I could have just gotten lucky but I got it done super easy. Like 2 matches and I was good. I didn't ignore my Primeval or my team either, I just kinda kept watch for the Invaders when I got the alarm. Like I said, I could've gotten lucky, but I really don't see it as difficult
