Every time that political threads appear in numbers here in offtopic, I’ve thought about making this thread.
So many arguments make it seem like American Politics is one party trying to make the other party look like a bunch of fascists while calling themselves saints and screwing over all the little folks for the most money. I really -blam!-ing hope I’m wrong here, in more ways than one.
So let’s change up the political discussions a little bit. Say something you don’t like about your party, call them out on some of their bullshit. Speak about how your side of the debates could better themselves.

I am a Classical liberal. which means I am about minimizing government, maximizing personal freedom. and appeals to persons to be responsible with their lives rather than throwing it away. I hate that there is no current liberal party and both sides think that in order to be a liberal, you have to be a SJW. chances are classical liberals are going to hate SJW's because the are destroying and semblance of equality and are not promoting freedom.

Well I'm more of a moderate. Our votes generally won't mean shit, we almost have to vote for basically the lesser of the two evils. Or just not vote at all. End of the day we lose. Imo i also think allying with a political party is stupid. That's some mad drone type of shit, I'll let my mind tell me what to do before i ever let a party of people tell me.

1 ReplyThey exist.

I would love to see Eccho respond to this post, but I think he'll only mention how bad the Democrats are, like the conservative shill he is.

I would, but I don't know what party I am.

2 RepliesEdited by Catty_Wampus22: 8/20/2018 12:58:56 PMThe two party system is a scam. It's just a distraction to keep the populace bickering with each other while both parties sell us out and screw us over. It's fake like wrestling. For the majority of people who believe in partisan politics as soon as they realize the other person likes the other team they automatically stop listening, because only a -blam!-ing idiot would like that side!! So now they can dismiss everything they say (which a lot of times is just talking points they heard from Rachel Maddow, Stephen Colbert, Fox....) It's not about working together and advancing the country, it's about "I'm right about everything and if you disagree you're stupid!" A lot of people seem to vote more to keep the other party out rather than true support because if those other guys won they'll take your guns or overturn Roe v Wade or some other fearmongering shit. Don't worry about crumbling infrastructure, debt, the open theft of our tax dollars.....(unless it's the other party doing it, of course ) Are you right all the time? 100%? Of course not, no one is. You HAVE to have differing opinions, you have to be able to say 'I disagree with a lot of that but you have some valid points....' It shouldn't be about I'm the king of hill for 4-8 years so -blam!- you!

Well my party needs to admit the moon landing was fake

Edited by Liam_the_Censor: 8/19/2018 3:21:19 AMThe Republicans saying they’ll be deficit hawks yet consistently sign legislation that puts us in even deeper debt. Honestly, JUST CUT SPENDING YOU IDIOTS!!!

Both sides of politics have become way too reliant on donations from special interest groups and corporations. It’s basically legalised bribery. Campaign finance reform needs to happen. As far as my own side specifically - I think some on the left can be a little intolerant of free speech - especially on college campuses. I’m also not a big fan of identity politics. The left in an well meaning attempt to create a more inclusive society has ironically made us more divided and tribal.

8 RepliesEdited by deatheater200: 8/18/2018 8:13:02 PMMy party is pro-life and anti-abortion. I’m pro-choice. I believe a women should be allowed to choose what she wants to do with her body. I don’t however believe that women should be using abortion as birth control.

2 RepliesThe lack of political motivation. Moderates dominate both parties easily, but many are politically apathetic. They complain a lot about what's going on in the country, yet when they had a chance to cast their vote/opinion, many don't go to the voting booths, or even opt-in for the mail-in ballots so they don't have to go to their designated location. They're passionate in their ideals, but they lack the motivation to actually go out and vote.

All parties. The government. They’re all lying scumbags. Even though I agree with most of what my side believes, I think that the government as a whole has a lot of problems

1 ReplyI don't really have any problems with the core values of my party. My problems lie within outside groups trying to change or shift the values of my party, such as neo-cons, controlled opposition, fudds, etc.

2 RepliesThe major problem with my party, is that it does not exist......

4 RepliesPeople here see me as an evil Liberal, but this place has a very heavy right bias. There's another forum I hang out in with a very heavy left bias and they consider me an Alt Right troll because I'm pro gun, I don't trust the governement or media, and to be honest I snark around a lot and rarely take anything seriously... I hate the whole system. I hate Republicans, I hate Democrats, I hate Libertarians, I hate Communists, and I definitely hate both the insane far right and left. I wish we could just get rid of "Parties" in general and vote based on what people are actually saying. I feel like most people nowadays only care about the sides and not about the actual issues. Like 60 groups all playing tug-a-war, screaming at each other and pulling in every single direction at once... Nobody has all the answers, but they all believe they do and refuse to compromise. So I guess the biggest fault in my "group" whatever that is, is just apathy... Back in grade school I wanted to save the world, back in highschool I hated everything about it, and now as an adult (using that word very loosely) I just feel meh about the whole thing. Like no matter who wins, it's just going to end up with more of the same...so we just sit back and laugh at it all while offering nothing in return because 'why bother?' Sorry, that was a bit more of a rant than an answer...

Being a Brit I can't speak much about American politics but back here in the UK im forever groaning about the idiocy of the Labour party.. it's screw up after bloody screw up... What makes things worse is the fact that the party in government are even worse. RE the whole Brexit shambles for example... You'd think labour would be tearing chunks out of the conservative party but nope they are riven with their own internal struggles with the far left.... It's a big old cluster-blam!- as ya yanks would say 😔
