1 ReplyLet me give you some information. Ya know how Bungie signed a contract with Activision? Ya well that contract is still in place and will be for another couple years or so, and if you did any research, you would know that if a company signs with a Publisher, whatever that Publisher says goes and the company can't question it as per what has been stated in the contract. 1, this is not Bungies fault, blame Activision, and 2, you may be right about how we've been disappointed countless times before, but some of us like the changes. I for one loved house of wolves and rise of iron and I still play them. I agree with you when you say that they have let us down, but you need to see that this is all an opinionated topic no matter what anyone says. Bungie isn't the one calling the shots, it's Activision because they want more money, so don't blame Bungie, and let us have our hype, I personally am excited for Forsaken because I like the Awoken and have been waiting do dive more into the lore. The previews also show us footage of the Prince, and I'm hoping we'll finally get to know why he was such a dick to us in Destiny 1. My main point is that while I agree with you, you should do some research first and then blame the publisher responsible, meaning leave Bungie out of this and blame Activision, and let people get hyped, it looks awesome and if we wanna preorder it let us, we will be the ones suffering, not you. I get your point, and I once more, agree with you on some things, but this isn't a topic to get heated over.

2 RepliesEdited by Lunyarch: 6/9/2018 3:22:37 AM
The Destiny community seems to have the attention span and memory of a goldfish. How many times must you go through being disappointed by Bungie before you realize that this isnt going to save the game? Bungie says they're finally fixing the game. They say THIS time is finally the time the game will be good. Are you people so blinded by hype that you'll believe anything Bungie says? Did you forget Destiny 2 vanilla? Or how about Curse of Osiris? Warmind? Or how about Destiny 1? The Dark Below? House of Wolves? The Taken King? Rise of Iron? All of these were supposed to "fix" Destiny. And they all failed. Yet, here we are again on the cusp of another DLC. ONE THAT IS $70 NO LESS. Have you learned nothing? Did you forget about Eververse? Shaders? Bland stories? Awful writing? Lazy game design? Last week Bungie sold an emote for $10. After seeing that you honestly believe in Bungie that much? For shame. Anyone that preorders Forsaken and is fine with dishing out $70 blindly without knowing anything about what is in the new DLC or beyond is a fool. Wait for the DLC to come out. I know it is hard to wait a couple weeks to get your drug fix, but wait a couple weeks after the DLC launches, then make the commitment. You people see some Fallen and some fixes to the game and lose it. Bungie has done this before. You've all been disappointed before. You'll all be disappointed again. DO NOT PREORDER FORSAKEN Edit: It is amusing to me the utter toxic fanboyism that plagues this site. What happened to #Remove Eververse? Did we all forget that Bungie has consistently implemented anti consumer practices into this franchise? What about the XP scandal a few months back? Or what about all the cut content both in D1 and D2? $10 emote? You are all blind sheep REWARDING Bungie for these practices. You are ENCOURAGING them to continue to screw us over. You are poisoning the gaming industry by paying for products you know nothing about. Blind consumerism. How about, before you go and give $70 for DLC to a company that has consistently underperformed, disappointed, and been anti consumer you hold off and WAIT? I fail to see why you people have such trouble waiting to see if this stuff is even worth the price. Is it all gonna be Eververse focused? We dont know. Yet you'll give them the money upfront anyways. Pure lunacy. Here's a nice analogy: Had I pre ordered a car from a company that promised an amazing car with great mpg that will last a long time, and then finally get the car only to have it come in pieces that I have to build over years while the end product is a mediocre car that has average gas mileage and breaks down after 4 years, I'D STOP BUYING CARS FROM THAT COMPANY.
One: How dare you insult Taken King! That DLC was probably one of the best time periods in Destiny's History! Not just for a certain time, then something better came along, no. It's history. Also, Taken King actually DID solve some of the problems plaguing Destiny 1. Two: I'd rather have a bland story than an incoherent and useless story. Plus, we finally got in-game lore, which might include D1 grimoire, if we're lucky, and we've been asking for that since D1. Three: I never supported the #Remove Eververse, nor have I purchased any bright engrams. I had no worries or aggravation against XP throttling. Why? Two reasons. One, I didn't care. I play Destiny for gameplay, not cosmetics. Two, my life didn't revolve around said cosmetics. Were they cool? Yeah. Were they worth money? Hell. No. Were they in the wrong? Yes, but I'm not going to get myself wrapped up in the stupidity surrounding it. Four: Calling someone a fool for pre-ordering something that THEY want, and purchase with their own money, is not the best way to convert them to your cause. Five: Scorn are something that I have to decide upon when the DLC arrives. They are Elinski, but unlike the Fallen, they are far more villainous based off of appearances, and do not require ether to survive. Six: Claiming we are going to be disapointed again, with utmost confidence, is not the best statement to say. Has Bungie released very lack luster DLCs and stories? Yes, and you can see that in both games with the first two DLCs. However, if Bungie decides to go the route of Taken King, then they will pull off an amazing DLC. Gameplay, story, grinding, and, for once, a dedicated Endgame area. As even you said, wait for the reviews, then speak. Seven: If you genuinely hate Bungie, and you never plan on trusting them again, why not go back to their older games? Or, better yet, move on? I understand if you want the game to get better, but you have to have at least some hope, some small, shining, beam of hope, that things can get better. And if you move on, then I wish you the best of luck. My only desire is that you stop posting on these forums if you no longer plan on playing. Eight: We all know that they dare not push a full blown Eververse scandal again. If they do, any players who remain would be driven away. Yes, I understand about the whole ten dollar emote. Was it frustrating? Yeah, but we complained. We all know they're going to change it before the end of this season, or risk losing more players. Nine: Nice analogy! It actually gets your point across well. However, your own toxicity against the people who want to pre-order started to come out a little before and during it. Ten: Please, next time, calmly, and gently explain your reason as to why, before shouting blind consumerism and sheeple. People tend to listen better when they don't have people shouting insults. Other than that, you wrote it fairly well, and I'd actually recommend you actually re-post it, but in a gentler manner. That way, more people will listen. However, I'd recommend going all out in the comments. Truth in Action, with Peace for all, -POLTiger

That's half hour work for me so $70 bucks isn't an issue. I think everyone has lost perspective that it's just a game. I don't care one way or another I have over 4000 hours in D1 and D2 on 2 accounts because I find it fun...its a game

I have not pre ordered anything since destiny 1, likely nvr will again.

Also it’s ironic that the same people in here bitching about how they don’t want other people telling them how to spend their money are the very same people who would be ok with taxing the shit out of anyone making more than 500,000 dollars a year, the hypocrisy is ridiculous... get a -blam!-ing job you whiny imbeciles

You don't have to tell me. Bungie gave me such a cure on pre-orders that I will never pre-order anything again. After all I have always been able to pick up games on the day they come out. Preorders not necessary.

Too late, because you don't tell me how to spend my money/time.

the announcement was great. As thrilled as I was it kind of pissed me off because I was hoping I could finally say screw this. This coming from a Day 1 D1 player plus all DLC [always pre-ordered] and D2 Special Edition [pre-ordered] that came with the DLCs. Instead it was this awesome stream of promises & changes that shouldn't have to have been made in the first place. They absolutely butchered D2 and now they're trying to recover. Bringing back Rolls, the original weapon load out, etc. Best of all it seemed they finally realized that they needed to provide more content throughout the Season to keep players not only engaged but playing. That announcement was great and got me excited. I did hate the idea of a bow and the new supers look pretty lame. However, when I saw the pricing structure in an article today that might be the straw that broke the camels back. The DLC has always been minimal and small for the price. D2s DLC has been abysmal. A handful of missions, a couple strikes and not even a new Raid from either of them instead they give us these Raid Lairs which are something that should have come in conjunction with or been released between DLCs for free. Yeah, there's really no reason Bungie can't afford to offer some free DLC in between considering we're paying $40 annually to keep playing Destiny. Yet despite the addition of MTs in D1 and continued availability into D2 they provide no real content throughout the year aside from each DLC, Iron Banner and Faction Rally which is one thing that should have remained in the game 24/7; Factions. Even Iron Banner they butchered by removing the player level taking account while playing. I absolutely love Destiny and at it's core the game is absolutely solid. But D2 was a major step back. The locations and planets were awful. The butchering of Destiny from 1 to 2 inexcusable. Anyway, I just hope that enough games are releasing this Fall-Winter to where I don't feel it necessary to buy the Season Pass. If enough games are coming out to keep me busy it will be easier to resist being caught up and suckered in. I also wonder how much of this has to do with Anthem coming in the Spring and Bungie finally feeling the pressure to only bring content but retain their players. For all we know Anthem is going to make the same mistakes Bungie has with Destiny and end up being a let down with little content and player engagement faltering soon after release.

6 RepliesNah. It's a fun game. Haven't checked how many hours I've spent, but between my sons and myself, we've easily gotten our money's worth out of the game. Plus, I occasionally let them look at the forums over my shoulder so that they can see what entitled twats look like, to better avoid becoming one.
