It's a tough debate because Destiny does have so much potential to be a good game/franchise. I think the issue the OP is trying to discuss are the god awful business practices Bungie is displaying that will lead to severe repercussions through the gaming industry. It's like when companies figured out they could make a lot of money of loot boxes. Even though some people were mad about it they became more prevalent with each triple A release. Despite public back lash companies still continued the practice because it supported their bottom line. The reason I bring this up is because the same pattern has the potential to occur with what Bungie is doing now. The vanilla game is like an extended preview used to hook fans with the promise of more to come. You didn't buy a game you bought a platform for Bungie to continue selling you "DLC's". This is a practice that if not fought by the community could spread through the gaming industry and would be a terrible thing. Imagine if instead of buying a $60+ game and maybe spending a little more on DLC, every game you bought was instead purchased in pieces. You don't want that to become the standard. Please don't get the wrong impression I love Destiny 2. It has so much potential which is what further saddens me to see what's going on. After all the money and support I have already given we are repaid in this manor. If Bungie wants to "fix" things with their fan base they shouldn't be charging us to do so. It's a tough debate but in all honesty I hate what Bungie is doing because I do like the game a lot and feel like I shouldn't buy/get to play the newest expansion because I can't be supporting these awful business practices. This is a whole different issue but take a look at the pricing of the "packages" for Forsaken. The worst value by a long margin is the $40 just forsaken deal. It's almost as if they are punishing people who have been loyal fan and only trying to entice new players with the $60 complete package. I want to support the game and I even more so want to play forsaken but given the amount of money I have already poured into it, and given the past disappointment I have concluded Bungie doesn't really care nor will they change. The higher ups are laughing at how stupid and naïve everyone is for falling into the same trap I have. I really want to play forsaken but I can't because something needs to change and Bungie wont so I must.

Forsaken isn't that bad actually dude. There's plenty of content, new enemies and areas, new pvp mode, new raid, extra story missions after the fairly decent campaign. I get where you are coming from though, I've been playing since the beginning, and took a break after D2. After a while I found myself missing the gameplay, the shooting mechanics, and fun pve/pvp, so i ended up getting forsaken. No regrets. You can still sit on your hate train though, and miss out on the actual cool stuff they have added to the game, but stop trying to force people to hate something that you do. Or you just dont have the extra money to spend so you sit back and lie to yourself about hating the game just to be a part of a group.

It's amazing that Destiny's biggest critics are by far the most active on their postings. If you're so disappointed and enraged at Bungie why do you keep coming back to talk shit? You know goddamn well you're going to grind more than the rest of us so just shut the -blam!- up, have a coke and a smile, and Happy Forsaken Day.

Lets be honest here. Pre-ordering any game nowadays is saying 'I trust you' to untrustworthy game devs. It's pitiful how they try to get you with incentives you can obtain anyway by playing the game. Selling anythng before it is due for release is bad business practice and I'd like to see a game dev company (im looking at you, cd project red) say, 'we wont have our stuff out for pre-order. check out the reviews and decide for yourself'. Of course, no one has the balls to do this. Remember the abominations; Warmind and Curse of Osiris. They were shameless cash grabs and if you disagree you are probably the target of this game's mediocrity. But for the ones defending this game; good for you. Knowing that you'll enjoy the experience regardless of how the efforts of its development was, is a trait I wish I had. I learned my lesson when I pre-ordered Metal Gear Solid V. There's no doubt its gameplay, it was amazing. But half the game's life force, its story, was gutted. Had I known this, i would have waited for the price drop. The only thing I enjoyed more than a metal gear's gameplay was its story. This had none. I was thoroughly disappointed.

I have nearly every emote etc in the game and ive never spent a single cent on eververse. I don't know why anyone would ever have a problem with this game. It's a bunch of endless fun. My only gripe was never being able to use power weapons much.

I agree personally. However as the release date gets closer my willpower grows weaker. This was a good reminder to stay the course. They haven't earned back my trust at this point so why should I take the risk when waiting won't cost me anything and could send them a message they might actually hear. I know, fat chance, but it's better than risking feeling like a dupe once again. It really is an egregiously long list of betrayals to the community.

But by preordering that might be trash you throw away your ability to complain and expect result cause they already have your money. But if you dont pre order, then see it's not worth the money and then dont buy it, bungie get that message more clearly. But yeah do what you want.
