I don't understand the uproar about this. Bungie is just preventing people who don't even play the game leaving toxic comments and posts all over the forums, and diluting the actual feedback pool. If you try to leave a constructive criticism post on the feedback forum, you get bombarded with toxic trolls bashing you for giving feedback, playing the game, or suggesting that Bungie could possibly pull D2 out of the fire. If you hate Destiny, hate Bungie, and hate everyone who enjoys them Then why would you want them on your feedback forum? What possible advantage could Bungie get from these trolls??? A welcome criteria, IMO.

3 RepliesTwo classes of people have a problem with the move. 1. Haters and trolls. 2. People who set up shop in Gaming and OffTopic...and got used to those subforums being their private playhouse...on Bungie's dime. I have some sympathy for the second group. None whatsoever for the first group.

@Kildozer: I agree with everything you've said. I don't feel so much of this action as a censorship as it is a purge to detox. Sure, there's always gonna be toxic crap here, just like everywhere else, but I believe in a thing called balance. For all the vets from before Destiny, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm even more sorry that the once great Bungie has turned itself into something most wouldn't even call mediocre. It's sad, but it is the truth. What's also true is that nostalgia lives outside of a digital forum. Go outside and play with your fellow vets. Halo is over. Destiny is here. Let the topics be relevant and constructive. If there's a few things Bungie (the one we know today, not from the past) is doing right, it's actually getting shit done here in the community. Actions speak louder than words, and now that there's action, people are still bitching. (Can't make everyone happy, though) Misery loves company, and when this community gets too miserable, well, this is apparently what happens.

4 RepliesHave fun in your echo chamber. But wait, I am still inside! Not very effective that countermeasure. We "haters" played and bought that turd of a game and have a valid opinion. lmao

3 RepliesNo other forum does this.

5 RepliesThe restrictions of Gaming and Off Topic are the biggest issue. It sends a message that Bungie doesn't want anyone on this site who doesn't play D2. Old Bungie fans? Go home. People who remember The Flood before it became Off Topic? Not wanted. People who like the community but don't play Destiny or care about it? You are irrelevant. It's like Bungie forgot it's own history of development, game catalog, and the slightest possibility that there might be more than a few fans of those titles still around and still active here.

8 RepliesYou actually believe thus is a good move. So far i see mostly backlash and thisevwho remain will be more toxic. All they did wascadd fuel to the fire and more bad pr. But its obvious they do not care.

12 RepliesEdited by iDovahBear: 2/8/2018 10:26:13 PMI disagree, unless the point is to double down on D2's changes and -blam!- the people who preferred D1. In which case, this franchise is gonna go to Hell in a handbasket really quick. Not that it hasn't already. And what's sad is, after the betrayal that is D2, D3 could turn around and be more like D1 and still nobody would buy it. Nobody has a reason to trust Bungie's judgment anymore. I think it's safe to say Bungie is delusional and wants to bet that the new system is the more preferred system, probably not because it actually is, but because it's easier to deny the feedback and just keep what they've already got because it means less work for them. Because I seriously doubt the majority are behind D2's changes as much as everyone like to suggest, even when this game is obviously hemorrhaging worse than D1.

It was a smart move for the feedback and destiny forum's, but -blam!-ed up for the other forum's.

4 RepliesSo the decision to put this criteria falls under one or many categories. 1) They aren't willing to pay the wages to employee real forum moderators so this is an attempt to lessen the load. 2) This was brought on by the fact that in December and January many gaming information youtube channels provided screen shots of the scrolling "#removeeververse" posts which caused enough attention to get passing attention from mainstream news and Wallstreet media. Which is bad for investors to see that. 3) They really honestly think that the people complaining about the game don't own the game, which is a scary thought for what to expect moving forward. Either way this won't help lessen the Toxicity of the forums. It won't help them win back lost player base as now they've literally locked them out. It's not going to mitigate any of the negative attention. So I guess it helps prevent from having to pay forum moderators. It's a dumb idea that only helps convey guilt in regards to a bad product.

1 ReplySame thoughts here. Why criticise a game you don't play? The free trial means everyone would have access anyway. 😉

2 RepliesEdited by StinkySphynxStir: 2/8/2018 7:10:18 PMWhat is the new requirement? A link would be very much appreciated. :) I'll go look on the main page and see what I can find. Edit... LOL. ummm... yeah, that sticky at the top. :)

3 RepliesFair point, but OffTopic should not have been affected by this.

13 Repliesdid it not occur that those who "hate Destiny, hate Bungie and hate everyone who enjoys them" also paid for the game? there will always be trolls. bungie's censorship shows how desperate they are to control d2's image.

1 ReplyAll the people who have been here for a long time who don't even talk about Destiny 2 beg to differ. Oh, and Destiny 2 will still get bashed, because most of the people I see bashing the game still play. This change won't really do much, and it certainly won't stop Destiny 2 getting bashed all over the place. It is nothing but an act of desperation by Bungie because they can't handle even the slightest hint of negative feedback. Well deserved negative feedback.
-
Agreed.
-
1 ReplyIs absurd of you to think that people who haven't played Destiny 2 leave only negative/toxic comments on the forum. Utter nonsense.

6 RepliesFor feedback and destiny 2 threads yes, off-topic and gaming no.
