Hello all,
Starting tomorrow, 2/07, some Bungie.net forums will be updated with new post requirements. These changes are planned between 10 AM and 12 PM PST.
• Destiny2, Feedback, Gaming, and OffTopic: Players must have reached the Farm in Destiny 2
• Destiny, Clans, Recruitment, Community: Must have a Destiny account
• Help: No game requirements necessary
As always, Private Groups are open to all for whatever experience you want to share with your friends, so long as it not violate our code of conduct. We are open to any and all feedback concerning Destiny and Destiny 2, but players who wish to contribute to the conversation will be required to have spent time in the game. Players who do not meet specified requirements will not be able to post or interact with threads on the forums in question. If threads are posted in the wrong forums in an attempt to circumvent these requirements, accounts will be subject to moderation by the Bungie.net Ninjas.

From the Code of Conduct:
Bungie reserves the right to moderate this website and everything on it. You are here to contribute to the conversation, not to derail it. Any attempts to interfere with the discussion here will be removed. These guidelines require your best judgment, so please play nice. If you're not sure if the stuff you're about to share is appropriate for Bungie.net, don’t post it. That'll help you stay clear of the Banhammer's blast radius.
Cheers,

I have to say that this is somewhat indicative of what the wider community has feared and has felt to be true for a while - their concerns are not being addressed. This implementation aside, because honestly, it's not that severe. It's what this shows that's the real problem and something that you should consider: heads are being buried in the sand. So there's been a whole bunch of backlash, that's no secret. We've all seen it, even those of us that don't really frequent the forums all that much. It's been pretty hard to miss, honestly. This change, as minor or as severe as people will make it out to be, (let's be fair, there's a lot of melodrama on the Internet) shows that you are willing to clam up and hide away from this reality rather than fighting it head-on. It's a middle finger to the community. Actually, the OP is tinged with a little bit of sass that could stand to be reworked. There's a community out there who want to love the game. Honestly, there are. It's just hard when it appears - from an external perspective - that this is a fool's hope. At this point, I don't think anything short of A Realm Reborn will make any progress in resolving the issues that the community has with the game or the mechanics/systems... and I'm not even talking about the alternative revenue streams from ol' Tess. The Destiny community needs its very own Yoshi P to spearhead a change and, as I say, enact its own A Realm Reborn on this thing. Sure, I know it's insanely expensive. I've worked in the industry for the past 7 years and am aware that a decision like that is risky and will probably get push-back from publishers, but that's a worthier and easier fight than having a project that fails to retain a community in its first year and acts as a huge black mark on the entire franchise. Applying duct tape and small changes over a long period of time isn't going to satiate the community, it needs to be a massive triage to the fundamental areas of the game. Still, that decision is obviously yours. Just adding some thoughts from what I've observed and have been thinking about for the past couple of months. Your community is important to you... you're trying to maintain a perpetual game and you can't do that without people invested in it... and the community will have to just accept that alternative revenue streams will exist, though ideally not a dice roll! Making a move to stifle angry voices will only serve to exacerbate the issue, not resolve it. Now they'll just continue to do the same, except they'll do it somewhere you have no influence instead. Do what you will on the forums, but consider how this looks from the outside.

I guess this means I'll no longer see those annoying troll posts from lethal viper. Good riddance, i muted that asshole so long ago and yet his posts still dominated the feed. If all you have to do is bitch about the game, you've got much bigger problems than D2 ever did, you miserable -blam!-s

2 RepliesThis is a great move by bungie.
-
5 RepliesIt’s about time. Bye bye babies!
-
Activision: Did anyone else make it? Bungie: Scanning... Just dust and echoes. We're the only ones left. We... did what we had to do, for Destiny 2. An entire forum armada, obliterated, and #Feedback, #Gaming... we had no choice... #Offtopic. It's finished. Activision: No, I think we're just getting started.

Edited by J117: 2/8/2018 6:08:44 PMSo this to me is just a veiled way for you to avoid constructive criticism/sometimes negative criticism. Bad move Bungie...

-
3 RepliesWell, at least Bungie aren’t asking us to buy silver from Eververse to use to post forum comments!
-
Are you guys for real?!
-
Censorship ftw lol
-
4 RepliesBungie, why couldn't you have made the requirements affect subforums like Destiny/feedback/help only ? Why does subforums that has nothing to do with your current game have to be affected by this ? I don't go to off-topic myself but it's shitty that you guys aren't even thinking this through and affecting people that don't need to be affected by this change. You guys keep making your name look worse and worse. Please stop making ignorant, pointless decisions like this.
-
Well since I bought your garbage game I can keep posting I'll gladly go away if you give me a refund

Edited by GMR-01: 2/8/2018 4:48:32 PMYou know why the req are so low? Because ninjas dont even play the game most of them just barely make the mark. Go figure
-
That’s pretty wimpy, even for Bungie.
-
This move really seems more out of frustration and spite from Bungie against the community for not liking D2 more than anything. This will solve nothing about the unbelievable anger and toxicity boiling over. Pretty much all the negative posts come from pissed off D2 players.

Fascist Ideals creeping in at Bungievision? Whoever thought this latest PR disaster up must be in line for employee of the month, great job guys. Just when you thought the "FAIL" could'nt get any bigger, Enter dmg04 with news that everyone over at Bungie HQ thought would "go down well"! Jackasses!
-
8 RepliesSo does that mean anyone who has feedback that they feel would make the game better if it is deemed not praising destiny 2 will get banned for using forums for their design of bringing like minded people together to discuss and brainstorm ideas to improve this game and many others. You would rather instead of listening to YOUR consumer YOUR community you would rather silence their voice!!!!?

2 RepliesEdited by ChiknStew29: 2/7/2018 3:05:46 AM^ this whose idea was this? was there a questionnaire that went out that i missed? why is Bungie trying SO HARD to push away everyone?! all the studio seems to do lately is to just pick, and pick, and pick away at the last of the strings that are holding players and the Destiny universe together... for what?! experience throttling, having no specific loot for events, rewarding players for not playing (clan engrams), the Dawning event, restricting Public Events, nerfing abilities and gear stats to name a few. and NOW locking players from the forums. so, hold on here... i get that if you haven't played Destiny and at least gotten to The Farm that you probably don't have any real game time to come to the forums and rant about anything conclusive that would greatly alter the end game experience for anyone. BUT HOLY UNDERWEAR! what if you've heard about Destiny, and know that to play the game is to join a clan so you have people to play with (or get free loot), so you come to the forums to find a clan to join but TOO LATE!! now you can't interact with the forums that could help you get INTO THE GAME!! you need to seriously take the controller away from Luke, sit him in the corner with a dunce cap and a carton of milk for a time out. this forum locking idea sounds exactly like something that only HE could dream up and get implemented. #dontbejerks #twotokensandablue

4 RepliesLook at you, creating your safespace how cute.
-
As if Bungie couldn't -blam!- this up even further. Really?
-
8 Repliescensorship won't save this game, sorry.
-
1 ReplySo, troll reddit then?
-
Once again, Bungie proves itself synonymous with "pathetic."
-
These days you are suppose to fix the game , not create more issues to alienate your playerbase. This is another extremely terrible and wrong decision by Bungie Management. The people who have made the decision , should be on Firing List together with John the Nerfmaster - Luke The Destroyer - Deej The unResponsive Community manager etc...

3 RepliesEdited by SackOfWine: 2/7/2018 6:12:13 PMAlready posted but I just figured it out. This is all a part of the "don't be jerks" ordeal. Funny thing is most of the people on here that are upset and raging have all finished endgame activitites and are on here telling you what you did wrong. Good lucky silencing everyone and what a desperate move.
