I am archiving data on the enemies of the Last City, and I was wondering if the Vex actually time-travel. Please comment your ideas/thoughts.

It's really really unclear.

Yes. Their simulations tell them where and when to go to get the outcome they want.
-
Time traveling murder bots for sure but to what extent they can remains to be seen.
-
Yes, the vex so time travel, that is why they are such a huge threat.

5 RepliesThey don't time.travel they originated out of time, so essentially shouldn't exist. They span multiple time lines changing the "mother" (main time line think of it as a spine) to there will go the best possible outcome for the vex themselves, it's unclear what time line we're on however, as they travel between these time lines through there network which is how they can have an infinite army and produce infinite vex gives thenillusion on time.travel they cannot change or adapt the past but influence the future by creating a butterfly effect with stopping events or making certain events occur. It's the unseen war

They missed some exclusive Eververse content a while ago and have to keep resetting time to try and find the timeline where they didnt erase it.

1 ReplyI'd say yeah because you end up fighting the descendants on mercury outside the forest, so you know they're definitely not a simulation. Add that to the fact that half a fireteam was erased completely from time in the vault of glass shows they can manipulate the past

1 ReplyNo it's really weird but they can't the CoO gear says so
-
There is a time warp emote that refers to the vex (lol jk it's a rocky horror reference but still)
-
no. humans are stupid and superstitious. they see what the vex are doing and come to the conclusion that the vex are time travelers.

1 ReplyLook up My Name is BYF on You Tube as he did a vid trying to reason out how the Vex use time.
-
1 ReplyI would think they do. It's annoying enough when they teleport around you when you're trying to kill them.

1 ReplyEdited by Haffoc: 12/20/2017 6:23:18 PMUnknown. Bungie are being deliberately obsure on whether they do or not. There is some evidence that they do and some evidence that they don't. They infer that something that physically exists is from an alternate history to our own in one breath, and in the next infer that something else is just a simulation. It's almost as if they have two writing teams who have different notes and don't talk to each other, but I think they just want to appear mysterious, not realising that it isn't really working or helping the story in any meaningful way.

Edited by AXI0M: 12/20/2017 5:20:50 PMMost likely, probably through the Vex network and gate system or through interdimensional travel.

We’re not entirely sure. D1 heavily implies they do but in D2 they down play it a lot.
