Forget banning guns, do this instead
Just ban murder outright. That way, nobody will commit murders anymore, as once they are banned it will be impossible to commit them.

3 RepliesOr arm the citizens that are capable of wielding firearms. In the case a lunatic manages to steal a weapon and start shooting the number of casualties will be drastically reduced because it's that one gunman vs an entire crowd of gunmen.

1 ReplyAll they literally have to do is actually start prosecuting gun crimes. It is illegal for a felon to have a gun. It's illegal for a foreigner to have a gun. It's illegal to lie on a background check. And the obvious it's illegal to have a stolen/or steal one. Look at the prosecution numbers for gun crimes that don't involve murder. You'll see they're very low. If they won't enforce the current laws we have. Then why should they get more?

The stupid people will all kill themselves trying to commit crimes because they're stupid. Last, give the guns back to the smart people. Tada, gun control is no longer needed. As a side benefit, eugenics are carried out in a more ethical fashion.
