Totally agree with you OP.
I have always hated timed events in video games. Adding a few rings to jump through at the right time is a stupid way to up the difficulty of a mission. I am not sure that I will continue to do them because it simply isn't enjoyable to me.
I also hate the rotating burn mechanic. It's a pain to read what the current burn is while trying to stay alive. Then having to switch a weapon out and hope that you don't die while doing so. Because that just wastes more time that we don't necessarily have.
We already have bullet sponge bosses which is fine to me. But adding a timer to kill a bullet sponge is just stupid.
I completed the NF this week with some friends with plenty of time left. But it was not fun to me at all.
