I know that I am not the only one who is tired of playing try hards who 5-0 everyone and I also know a good amount of PvP players who would like to see a list for these types of players to play each other. My suggestion is this.
1. When a person goes flawless during the week (on the current character, so they could go flawless 3x a week on the normal list) they are not allowed to play normal mode trials. Instead they are put into a new trials match making list, (Lets call it hard mode trials). This hard mode trials list lets players keep all of their special ammo each round. The rounds are extended. To win the game you must win 7 rounds instead of 5. 2 heavy rounds, R2 and R5, 1 crate per round and crates spawn in at a random point with no counter showing the location. The capture zone moves each round, and captures slower. No scope glint, no radar and no revive. Exotic weapons allowed. Match making based on wins. Sides flip each round.
Upon ultimate completion a new chest is available in the lighthouse, this chest would give players a new exotic emblem, armor set would be adept and provide bonuses to the user. Player would get 2 adept weapons. Players who beat this mode get a PvP gain bonus that boosts their rep and experience gained during the week by 25% and would have flaming fists. Twice-three times as much loot as normal mode.
2. For normal trials, all players start with this list during the week. No exotic weapons allowed. Special ammo is lost on death. Matching is random. Capture zone spawns in random spot. Sides flip each round. Heavy round spawns two crates again.
Upon flawless completion players get the normal loot they get now. Essentially this box would become a tier 2 chest. All gear is adept.
3. When a player goes flawless, the lighthouse is permanently unlocked as a social space but they can only get the chest there if they go flawless.
4. Lighthouse venders are added, including one to buy your card for the week. Kiosks to reclaim lost gear.
5. In all social areas there is an area to find a group to play with, just a basic LFG. LFG can show all game mode stats.
6. Lastly Osiris could bring exotic weapons and gear that are built specifically for PvP once a week like Xur does and you trade him passage coins to buy the loot.
Comment which Ideas you like and don't like.
I think this would get rid of the paid carries from people and make this fun mode more enjoyable for everyone who plays this game and would like to see the lighthouse before D2 comes out. I know my 600+ Friends list on my PS4 would be a lot more active in this game again.
Lets start a healthy conversation about what bungie can do to get people playing Destiny again and making trials a fun mode for everyone who is just a casual gamer.

It's easy to loophole though... just go 7-0 and reset

18 RepliesHow about we stop giving tangible, end-game rewards - gave out an emblem and a shader and that's all. A game where both PvP and PvE exist, they should never feed off one another. PvP should be kept entirely sperate from PvE - both gear and nerfs/buffs. If Crucible had its own set of gear that can only be used in PvP and never allow PvE gear (for the expectation of Exotics), I fell like Destiny would just be a healthier game in general.

Just playing devils advocate..........what if they implement a system where you could only go flawless 1 time a week, per character and could only team up with people of the same win/loss ratio? Example.... new cards team up with new cards, 3-0 cards team up with 3-0 cards, etc. Personally, I don't care either way. I've never been flawless and get rolled just about every match and still enjoy trials (glutton for punishment I suppose).

5 RepliesEdited by magburner: 4/18/2017 12:10:09 PMSBMM would stop paid carries overnight, because those who do the carries would end up facing each other, and turn winning into something of a lottery. Anything other than SBMM only favours the carries.

No go away get gud
-
Truth is Bungie could stop paid carries by identifying IP addresses.
-
25 RepliesOr bungie can scrap the shit storm that is PvP, and focus on PvE like they advertised. 👌
-
The heroic trials should have received disabled. Or the easiest way to get rid of paid carries is to reduce the amount of wins require to finish the trials passage from 9 to 7 (7-0 for flawless). This is because it's easier to go 7-0 before you lose, and more people seem to be able to achieve that. 3 wins for armour, 5 for weapons.
-
You do realize all the people carrying have to do to get around this is not buy boons. Get the carried to 9-0 They will be either 7-1 or 7-0 and never reach the 9-0 until near reset.
-
1 ReplyThis wouldn't prevent paid carries. People would just be limited to doing3 carries a week
-
So how does this stop paid carries?
-
In truth the only way to stop paid carries is simple, but will be met with vicious back lash and whinging. Make it so you need a minimum of 1.0kd to buy the card. It will stop a lot of carries, and the higher the minimum KD the less carries. Simple but would be a whinge fest dear.

Destiny was never meant to be competitive. Its pvp has bad p2p and a tickrate of 10. Pvp got popular because the pve content has not been released fast enough. Destiny 2 should have 1 pvp mode for the sweaties where there are no classes, no fancy just basic weapons and armor. All other pvp activites should remain 'casual' and not be the cause of nerfs and buffs

Trials sucks Bungie should be putting their main focus into pve now, story sucked in destiny 1, they stuffed it all into grim cards rather than having it in game, cheap bar stewards.

Edited by Eternity: 4/18/2017 8:52:08 AMNothing will ever stop the paid carries. Any mode in any team based game that requires SKILL (as opposed to TIME) will end up with paid carries across the board. Trials is the only activity in Destiny that requires skill - everything else is simply a matter of grinding. Bungie could introduce 40 tiers of trials, and people would still pay to be carried through the highest tier for the best emblems/loot/ornaments. The only way to get rid of paid carries is to get rid of the SKILL requirement for getting to the Lighthouse. i.e. remove losses from cards completely - 9 wins, no matter how many losses gets you there. At which point the activity becomes completely pointless. I know this is mind-bending stuff, but just bear with me. What if...trials isn't designed to appeal to casual players?
-
They may as well sell Trials armor at a Kiosk on the Tower because one can essentially buy it if they pay for enough carries. In either case it ends up being meaningless as one won't know if they earned it legitimately or simply paid to get it without checking their stats. And how many are going to check the stats, assuming they're viewable, every time they see someone wearing trials gear. There's no debate here imo. If someone didn't earn it they shouldn't be allowed to obtain it, let alone equip it.

1 ReplyThe best thing for Destiny 2 would to not ever have Trials ever again.
-
Trials are for the elite. If you can't do it, don't try.
-
1 Reply...or... Scrap Trials entirely cos its the single worst thing ever to have happened to Destiny since "see that mountain..."
-
How will this get rid of paid carries? At worst it might slightly inconvenience them by having grind out multiple characters on several accounts. The only people who would be affected by this is someone who already went flawless and then wants to do trials with their friends.
-
Damn zero likes, but hey at-least ur trending :)
-
1 ReplyWho cares? Its PvP.
-
3 RepliesI dont think there will be a bevy of people missing for d2, gamestop says preorders are killing it. That's just them, no report from psn or whatever the hell xbox sells shit on

1 ReplyEdited by Hiro: 4/17/2017 11:52:47 PMI like the idea you created, but those rules you created for the 'harder' version sound terrible. Heavy and cap point spawning in a random location doesn't sound very balanced but I do like the switching sides. Also forcing players into something is NEVER a good idea. What if I've already been flawless on my characters, now I'm locked out of playing reg trials with any of my other friends that haven't been flawless for that weekend and vice versa. Also the idea of a ranked playlist sounds more appealing to me than a harder trials.

9 RepliesNo no and no. Year 1 trials was fine. They matching cards -blam!-ed it all up. It was the beginning of the end for trials. Year 1 trials was for everybody. Year 3 it's for streamers and account recoveries. Zero enjoyment for the casual. I say scrap trials for good. Unless they go back to year 1 settings it needs to go! I've no problem missing out on lighthouse but not to 0.2 kd players who's accounts are recovered by tier 1 players in exchange for cash. It is pay to win. Get rid of it for the greater good of destiny 2.

Although this would be nice it still doesn't fix kids from cheating. I used to play trials all the time year one and have gone flawless multiple times. But now like regular crucible it's full of cheaters and red bar people. Just separate PVE and PVP to have their own dedicated servers. And actually ban people who cheat
