The real problem is that most players are special ammo warriors. Whether it's shotguns, fusions, or snipers, they rather run around with them as a primary. The problem isn't just sidearms. It's that special ammo weapons are not used for special situations but for every situation. Which is why side arms are overused now and shotguns were overused before.
Also, side arms are only seeing play because of the ammo changes and since shotguns are literally nerfed to the ground (since the in air inaccuracy), snipers have flinch, and fusions are pretty good, though not as popular as the rest.
Special weapon warriors are the real victims of this patch. As for me, I'm a hand cannon warrior, so it doesn't affect me.
