Horizon gives me so much Witcher 3 vibes.
In the best ways. I've played the first couple hours or so and I'm already so into this game. So much of the game you can tell were inspired by the Witcher, and it makes me that much more excited to play through this. What do you guys think of it so far?

I'm pretty sure the people who said you could complete everything in 40 hours were on easy and fast traveled as much as they could. I'm only going to fast travel if the place I need to go is a 15 minute walk.

The Witcher was exceedingly good with narratives and side quests that felt like entire plotlines of their own, but suffered from mediocre gameplay mechanics. This game, however, seems to be the opposite. The world and mechanics are solid and absolutely amazing in some instances, but story and side quests are much simpler and borderline cliché. I know this game just came out and people are excited, but let's not get too ridiculous and give prospective buyers false expectations.

I found witcher movement mechanics to be so god awful it took away so much of the fun experience. Turning around was a chore. Horizon is so fluid and easy. Witcher combat was clumsy and awkward. The camera rarely kept with you without ALOT of effort. Aloy is again fluid and easy. And when combining movement and combat horizon is the best and most fun I've ever played. It's so easy to be running circles around your target, crafting arrows at the same time whilst sliding into cover then jumping out, aiming and focusing for that critical shot and bang!It's down. Then setting up some traps for round 2. It's a pleasure to watch and play. I'm only level 13 and It's game of the year for me so far. [spoiler]and my aloy statue looks awesome beside the tv [/spoiler]

1 ReplyDoes not have Gwent so i hate it..... Actually it is a great game so far and the story seems solid. Combat I am getting used to since I am not a third person fan.

13 RepliesPlayed for about 3 hours. Was heading towards the proving when I got off. Did side quests first as I saw them. Loving the game so far I don't have anything negative to say. Don't have room for my collectors edition statue though :/ One thing I really like is guerrilla does a great job of releasing games that don't have bugs. I don't remember killzone series having bugs either. Granted I'm only 3 hours in and maybe have been lucky so far. 6 and half more hours of work. Then play all evening :D

I hate my PS4, but this game has my interest. I may pick it up when I have more cash to burn.

I'm only 4 hours in and I'm enjoying it immensely. Very well designed game thus far, and I'm looking forward to how the overall story turns out. Intriguing indeed. Plus, like everyone is saying, beautiful graphics and landscapes. All makes for a wonderful experience. If you have a PS4, I'd highly recommend this game. 👊👍👌

I thought it looked cheesy and might've been overhyped, but you guys have been saying some overwhelmingly positive stuff... Witcher 3 is in my top 3 games ever, so it'll be hard to top, but if it's anywhere close I'll be happy.

Feels like far cry primal meets assassins creed to me. But I've never played the witcher and I'm only just heading to the proving.

I didn't play enough of it for it to really grab me yet but it seems really good. I can see the witcher influence for sure. Also feels a bit like mass effect.
