This patch was designed to kill all viable PvP and PvE options for Destiny.
They are doing this so that people will have to buy Destiny 2 to get their fix.
Edit:
Bungie has come out to say the health regeneration nerf ability was a mistake. But they've heard "support for both sides of the issue."
This wasn't a mistake at all. This was testing the waters of the community for a ridiculously untested and extreme nerf to make PvE content harder making it last longer due to difficulty.
Edit 2: The more I've been thinking about it the more I've realized that every single patch that Destiny has ever had was just slowly made to kill it in small increments.
Every single patch and "balance" has been absolute garbage. They did it slowly so every single time people will defend them because "this patch wasn't bad."
Look at how many nerfs everything has gone under. They're trying to.make everything useless
Just wait until the next patch nerfs sidearm ammo and auto rifles again.

13 RepliesThe patch was actually REALLY good for the game, that is, unless you're a meta hugger who is butthurt about clever dragon and shotguns getting bit.
-
5 Repliescant be serious yeah? because as you say "fix" which applies to addiction yes? addiction only takes 2 weeks to break, which means by the time Destiny 2 drops people will grab it because its a new game. i see where you are coming from but Bungie has a good marketing team tbh, they are not stupid enough to try "kill their own game"

12 RepliesEdited by Elysiae: 2/18/2017 8:29:21 AMIt makes me so angry. Why did everyone complain about Clever Dragon? Handcannons were pretty much used the same ( with a dominant archetype too). I loved both, they haven't felt so -blam!-ing weak. I wanted that bungie buffed other archetypes, weapon types to counter all the shotgun warriors, and make primaries balanced so they are actually good but nope they just got rid of special so they can nerf for no reason,to make this game even more slower and boring than it already is. I can't remember when this game was actually fun the last time i played it. I'm really feeling for all the pve players( question here: why are you still playing it? There's barely any content, and repeating the same shit over and over?). Whatever, so they nerfed subclasses for no reason, and other shit and those pve players sit here and play with crap weapons because of pvp. I guess i'll buy the Divison or for honor... any recommendations? I don't think they killed it on purpose, since if you have watched the stream,it is clear that the dev morons habe no idea about their own game. Straight incompetence, no skill at all and NO COMMON SENSE. It's laughable of them saying they were testing the patch for hours and hours.

14 RepliesIf they were killing the game there wouldn't be an April update. Seems pretty obvious the plan is to bring back an updated VOG and/or Crota to give people what they have been asking for a few months before D2. People come back, remember why they liked Destiny and pre-order D2.
-
4 RepliesWait, you haven't played this game since Oct 27, 2016.
-
If that's the case, then it's a stupid move considering destiny 2 probably won't be coming until the summer, and there's probably going to be one more content drop
-
28 RepliesThis may seem like a ridiculous question, but... have you actually PLAYED the game since the patch? Or are you basing this on just being a festering pile of hate? I've had more fun in the Crucible than I have in months, and PvE has been more or less unaffected for me. "They" didn't kill anything, they revived it as far as I'm concerned.

4 RepliesI'd agree except the history of Destiny patches has consistently been nerf what's great and effective and fun so that all the other crap they've designed shines a bit brighter and smells a bit better. They take what had showcased the great potential of this game and nerfed it so the majority of mediocre things look better. Dumb strategy. If they spent more time making the rest of the stuff better, this game would be where it should be.

2 RepliesThis guy was most certainly a juggernaut titan with a matador who only used his high calibur round clever dragon when his shotty was dry. Now that those people are unable to crutch like that anymore, the rest of the population can have more fun now

Probably true. But no, we are going to "adapt", right?

2 Replies<TinFoilHat On> The "Hot Mess" patch was just to get us thinking the right "BungleVision" way. See, Bungie is hard pressed to not give Activison any stock, so they will basically be shipping any broken, sloppy, partially finished, buggy piece of crap out the door by November 17th 2017 to meet their deadline. So by getting us used to their shoddy wares, incompetence and greasy platitudes about how they will fix it "soon if we complain enough," they can condition us to not be as critical of Destiny 2. <TinFoilHat Off> Have a surreal day folks..

2 RepliesMy theory as well...they need to destroy the game so that the next release is amazing
-
11 RepliesAre you serious? They did this because literally EVERYONE had a Clever Dragon and Matador equipped. They didn't do it to kill the game and get people to buy destiny 2, they did it so there would be a variety of weapons used in crucible.

going on 3 years still not balanced bravo

1 ReplyEdited by Jokester2nite: 2/17/2017 5:10:23 PMKilled the game? Look at all the people posting in the forums about it. Look at all the people flocking back too see what the fuss is all about. I say it's more like mission accomplished

Im just praying that they left the worst 15 employees to tinker with D1. Please let D2 be great.......

The game is not fun to play. Don't know why they keep making things worse but they do. If this is their direction I won't be buying destiny 2.

1 ReplyYes, sound business strategy; kill off your entire fanbase with more than 6 months to ween them off, thus leaving them with no desire to purchase what they would only assume to be a shitty sequel. You're a genius.
