We just launched Hotfix 2.5.0.2 which contains a Sandbox tuning pass and changes to the Crucible. If you want an in-depth exploration into some of these changes you can watch our live fire demonstration here. For those interested in the bullet points we have the full Patch Notes up as well.
In the interest of full transparency, we do need to clarify something in this update. Our test team discovered that the changes to the Blade Dancer Perk Hungering Blade were being applied to several other Health Regen Perks. Here is a quote from Sandbox designer Josh Hamrick.
Over the last couple of days, as we continued to test the patch, it came to our attention that the changes we made to Hungering Blade were unintentionally shared among a number of additional elements (list below). While we considered delaying the hotfix to remove the shared change, we ultimately decided to live with the patch we’d made and tested. We believe that Hotfix 2.5.0.2 is an important step forward to maintain the health of the game and that getting it out to you ASAP is in everyone's best interest. And besides, no one wants to show up empty handed on Valentine’s day.
List of affected elements:
• Hungering Blade (Arc Hunter)
• Transfusion (Striker Titan)
• Cauterize (Sunbreaker Titan)
• Lifesteal (Voidwalker Warlock)
• Red Death perk
• Suros Legacy Perk (Suros Regime)
• No Backup Plans
• Ward of Dawn cast
• The Ram
• Apotheosis Veil
• Embrace the Void (Voidwalker Warlock)
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be diligently watching and listening to what you have to say about these changes. While we will be unsurprised if additional tweaks need to be made, we are honestly super interested to see how these changes, intended or not, play out. We will be relying on you to give us your feedback as you grow accustomed to the feel of the game over the next couple of weeks. We will also be with you ingame, playing along and making our own notes… Apparently, I have to redeem myself for my stream performance anyway.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a 1st date with a potential Skorri fix…

Idiots, what a disgusting patch. It's just made hand cannons the strongest weapon in the game. Nothing else really gained any substantial time to kill. At least pulse was viable against hand cannon previously.
-
For now the patch is still fresh and using sidearms is fun but only for so long, I want to snipe and fusion its annoying losing ammo. I want to be able to use both primary and special as I see fit, also with the player base decreasing there's more lag.
-
What's wrong with Skorri? Worked fine for me. How is it broken?
-
1 ReplyBungie put special ammo back to where it was. Guess what? Sidearms are king now because you don't lose special upon death in pvp. So please fix it and change it back to where it was. Thanks!
-
You guys at bungie either don't read the feedback or, more likely, couldn't care less. Please restructure the sandbox team for the sequel. 2.5 years of failure is not a good track record. Game had limitless potential too.
-
4 RepliesThe only reason this could've happened was if you had the coding for health regen branched to all of these. Just an idea, separating things next time could cause less of a dilemma and the community would be less aggravated
-
I love this game, but I went into a pvp match, when it was over, I quietly exited Destiny, and went back to playing a much better game.
Sonic 666
2 RepliesEdited by JuiceAKAJBizz: 2/17/2017 5:58:45 PMResponse is mixed u say...99 percent hate it...1% like it... Hard to deal with change....um...only this patch cause it's boring to pvp now...it's was always fun before even with tons of weird decisions...I don't even feel like pvping in my free time...you know it bad when that happens for the first time in 3 years... I had time to game and pvp the last 2 nights and I didn't even feel like it cause it just peek-a-boo n teamshotting w primary weapons, sidearms, and far less action. Almost every 6v6 game ended w timer instead of score lol... Slow paced, far less action, players camping from r special, barely any shotguns, snipers, or fusions...99% sidearms... Sidearms are new matador... Handcannons new clever dragon.... Primary weapons got more balanced and shotguns got nerfed...perfect...why change special ammo? Oh yea n HCR clever dragon fixed...so the problem with pvp weapons was fixed...so why make a special ammo change so we don't even see any fusions, snipers, shotguns anymore...it totally unbalanced the game even more... I don't get it at all....
-
And really? Another nerf?
-
Like you guys are going to be listening to us. Whenever we post about changes making things seemingly worse for the players, you do absolutely nothing. You only respond to the help, nerf, and pointless threads.
-
1 ReplyA few hours into first trials weekend post patch... keep in mind 99% of the sniper kills are NLB and icebreaker. Great job bungie!
-
2 RepliesI like this update, alot less shotguns, thorn's overpowered accuracy is back, more primary gun fights, auto rifles are good, and no more clever dragon, thanks bungie for patch 2.5.0.2
-
So....nerf fusions, got it! 👍🏼
-
2 RepliesThe change is both a nerf and a buff. Picking off one person will give you less health, which is a nerf. However, it completely buffed the super. The shotty nerf gets rid of that problem 50% of the time. The other problem was team shooting. You can't regen your health if you are getting shot at. Now, you instantly get health back, which gives you more health when going at the next person.
-
4 RepliesWhy dont you just delete warlock instead of nerfing them all the time
-
I love this update! I am sad about my grasp but I was using a hawksaw more anyway. I am glad I get to use a primary again! I will be playing more based off how this update changed things.
-
You decided to release it anyway because we wanted to have something out? wow that's a lame excuse. It's just one more thing that proves you guys are lazy.
-
1 ReplySooo.....maybe time to rethink all these BladeDancer nerfs? Just maybe? Never too late for a pull-out/do-over.
-
1 ReplyMaybe I'm strange, but I actually like this patch quite a bit. Love the return of primary weapons and weapon diversity. My only tweak would be that instead of losing all your special ammo upon death, maybe you only lose 75% of it.
-
Well that's it I'm done 2300 hours of game time and it's finished. Just deleted the game now for the app. Big F U C K you to bungie. You ruined a good game.
-
2 RepliesSo now most ppl are using sidearms instead of shotguns. I dont see the difference, I didnt see any issues. Also I swear frost ee5 have changed and not mentioned in the patch notes.
-
2 RepliesI haven't played Destiny in months but I saw a screenshot someone of my fl took. And he was the only one playing it. Kinda sad actually. Still hope for D2 to be good, but it's a last time.
-
5 RepliesPatch is horrible. Games are slow and zero fun or exciting anymore. Broke the game. Pretty sure the drastic drop in player numbers since Tuesday patch released shows you how bad this is..
-
3 Repliesthis patch is horrible. the special ammo economy change was retarded. it's an entirely new game. multiple nerfs to blade. i just don't understand your incompetence at this point.
-
43 RepliesGood news about all this is I now have about 40 gigabytes of extra space on my ps4 now that i deleted destiny
-
9 RepliesEdited by mitSnick: 2/17/2017 7:09:44 PMPerhaps we should or could voice our displearsure by a show of hands... By how to count? Im thinking a sit down protest in the public spaces. Tower Reef Iron Temple Im sure Bungie could tell that the towers all get filled up with guardians not doing anything but sitting down, dancing, playing ball, deleting thing from there vaults. Streamers could steream the event add commentary play music. Just a thought. Share and enjoy Originally posted in feedback thread. But probably better off here. Updat.... Actually i believe the most constructive course of action would be to respond to that afore mentioned feedback thread...and respond in that format. What you dislike What you like What does not really affect you. I dont like the unintentional changes to gear and weaponsl. Everything else i can roll with. Its a pain relearning or reconfiguring our loadouts and playstyles..again. Its not the first time things have been shook up. And with guardians walking away. But if we just started we wouldnt know anything. For myself and my two other accounts i like playing this game, but there has definitely been some headshaking over the years. Ultimately its about time and resources, i believe. Usually is. Be well and be safe out there guardians Qa is never good in a fish tank. Habits are hard to shake
