Will The Dawning contain a weapons balance patch

After seeing the dawning trailer I'm extremely excited for all the new content but one question still remains. Will we get a new balance patch? Bungie once said it was their goal to have more frequent balance patches to keep the crucible fresh but right now I'm not seeing that. Cross your fingers everyone because I'm getting sick of this shotgun clever dragon meta. If not I may be taking a break From destiny. Don't disappoint me bungie. Edit: To make my opinion clear I want a primary buff across the board and separate PvE and PvP meta's. Everyone seems to think that I am selfish for wanting change and that I want to nerf clever and matador. That's not the case at all, please don't make assumptions before posting. It makes you look stupid. Thank you.

    • most likely, theres already proof of an icebreaker buff in the PSX footage. theres no way they would make a patch just to balance one gun.

    • It better have a weapon balance patch. A patch that actually balaces out the weapon archetypes without nerfs. Nerfing only creates a new meta. We all know bungo cant be trusted with the nerf stick.....They always beat stuff to death with it.

No more nerfs. We need to decrease the time to kill on all primary weapons to match the clever dragon. The reason shotguns and snipers are so is because bungie has done a bad job at making primary weapons usable. If all primary weapons had a faster time to kill it would prevent you from being rushed from across the map by a shotgun. Primary weapons are horrible in their current state ( with a few exceptions).

      • Maybe. There is usually a major Sandbox update before each major expansion. Thing is, I don't think The Dawning counts as an expansion, it has more in common with Festival of the Lost which didn't get a sandbox update. Having said that, Bungie hasn't tweaked weapons/classes/missions for a while and I'm sure they've gathered enough data since ROI dropped that they probably feel the need to change some things just to keep the player base on their toes.

      • I agree with you but without this Point:
separate PvE and PvP meta's
Players should be able to Play every Weapon Archtype without Problems. In the actual Crucible are high Impact Autos so useless. I used yesterday my Shadow Price in Rift (ignore the Thing that we lost with extrem low Points) and get only 4 Kills with my SP.

      • I use different guns in almost every map in PvP, sometimes I snipe, sometimes I run a shotgun or a fusion, and sometimes I run a sidearm as a secondary. As far as primary weapons, normally a pulse or a hand cannon. And my heavy is almost always a machine gun. In raids I use, my Keystone, Saladin's Vigil and Gjallarhorn... those three guns almost exclusively. I use what works for me in that particular situation. I don't complain if I get smacked by the Dragon or the Matador over and over agin, I figure out a way to counter them... and there are plenty of ways!

        • There's never going to be "balance", because everyone has a different idea of what that means. I'm okay with the current meta. The only thing I would change would be to make snipers a little easier to use. I'm not calling for buff, just make it a little easier to aim and shoot.

        • Pvp will never see balance. Same gun, but it's the perks that make the weapon viable. First it was Suros, then vex, then thorn/tlw/hawkmoon, then pulse rifles, then snipers, now clever dragon/matador 64. The answer to balance is to buff primaries to match clever dragon. When primaries have suck slow kill times, specials will always dominate pvp. Snipers are 9nly good for hard scoping high traffic areas, and it's too easy to get in close w a shotgun. pvp is lame now. After 2.0, it just kept getting worse and worse.

                • Stop calling it a "pvp" patch. Its a weapons patch. Theres TWO parts to the game that make it Destiny not one.

                  • Pvp balance? Its because of pvp players crying that the whole game has suffered in both weapons and subclasses

                  • No. If anything, many of these so called "balance" adjustments need to be reverted. I'm tired of seeing this seemingly endless chain of "complaint" -> "nerf" continue in this game, and even more so I'm tired of reading some of the comments spewed out by the PvP oriented players in these threads trying to "justify" the changes to the game or to try to put down PvE players. Some of the things I've read on this thread just make me shake my head in disappointment. First and foremost, get this through your thick heads. You (As PvP Players) make the ABSOLUTE MINORITY in this community (Verified by numerous in-game and online polling), you will always be outnumbered in size by the players who are more PvE oriented. There has never been a time in Destiny's 3 year history where this has not been the case, and honestly, it will always be this way. So, for you to come on here and basically call PvE players "Toxic Complainers", when the real fact is that 90%+ of these "complaint oriented" threads originate from PVP-centric players, you're only showing your ignorance to the truth. Secondly, don't deny the fact that changes in PvP do have negative effects on PvE play. Yes, it will always be something that is "easy" only due to the nature that the AI in this game really aren't all that "intelligent" (Players essentially know everything that a certain target will do), not to mention that adaptation to challenges is something gamers have done for years now, as challenges are completed, strategies are developed and improved. So yes, it's easy, but for you to call reduction of damage, reduction of ammo, and so on as non-factors in PvE, it just makes you look and sound stupid. Finally, you can't deny the fact that Bungie does directly listen to your "complaints". It's really easy to read between the lines of "We're looking at the data" in this kind of a scenario. Yes, that "data" is referring to "What are the players complaining about the most". This game is impossible to balance, and this can be easily proved mathematically as well as just from a common sense standpoint, so what does Bungie do here? They apply a simple "Band-aid" to the problem, give you what you want and make a few other minor changes to level things off, and then it's back to square one when you find the next thing that's "broken" (in your terms). Every time this occurs, something else gets left behind, be it a weapon or a class selection. This is just a pointless attempt that Bungie is desperately trying to cling to, in an attempt to make Destiny some kind of MLG compatible title to suit Activision. This game will never be compatible, as it's impossible to balance. So please, keep going with your complaints, keep begging for more nerfs, keep blaming PvE players even though we never ask for nerfs, but buffs. The dwindling player base and eventual scrapping of a once great idea will be your reward.

                  • Just because everyone uses Shotguns doesn't mean Snipers suck...If your a sniper and you letting a shotgunner get close enough to blow your brains out it's partly your fault.

I want to see: - High Caliber Rounds removed from Clever Dragon archetype - Reinforced Barrel and Rifled Barrel no longer negate range reduction from barrel choices on Shotguns - Matador 64's Impact reduced to be more in line with others of it's archetype - buff to range of all Low to Mid impact Shotgun archetype - Full Auto removed from High Impact Shotgun archetype - buff to flinch reduction on all Scout Rifles (more noticeable on Badger CCL and Cryptic Dragon archetype) - very slight buff to damage of all Auto Rifles - buff to range of all low impact Hand Cannons (excluding TLW) - buff the effects of Hip Fire and Last Word (exclusive to TLW) - slight reduction to range of all Palindrome archetype Hand Cannons (excluding exotics) - buff Hawkmoon range - buff The First Curse stability - buff Ill Will reload speed - Thorn DoT stacks 3 times, damage is doubled with each stack (once = 1, twice = 2, thrice = 4) - very slight damage buff to Hopscotch Pilgrim and Spare Change archetype - buff to stability (or) recoil direction for Spare Change archetype - buff to Increased Armor perk on Swords - buff to lunge distance (range) on Swords - Reflected attacks from your Sword no longer consume energy. However, continuously reflecting attacks will speed up the rate at which your Sword energy decreases. - Juggernaut takes an extra 0.6 seconds to proc - weapons/abilities that overpenetrate/pierce targets can shoot through Juggernaut, but deal half damage Hmm... what else?

if you the crucible developers were smart they would remove sbmm and take another stab at the balancing the game....but we all know who we are dealing with now and you shouldn't expect to receive anything that would improve the crucible or player base from the dev team. If they continue to ignore the crucible, I expect the new content update to last about 2 weeks and pvp player will dwindle even more....
