I have not done the raid yet, I have done all previous raids, but do to work and family, have leveled up slowly this time around. I got up to 373 on my warlock and am not sure what primary I should bring up for the raid, also if its not bad in crucible that would be great too. I have the hung jury with firefly, the pulse from taken king raid with firefly, hawksaw with max stability and villiany with about max stability and glass half full and headseeker, and a bunch of exotic primaries, but figured they wouldn't be as useful in the raid with taking up an exotic slot that could be used for certain heavies. I am just wanting to do the normal raid in about 6 hours and want some tips for primaries.
Basically, raided before, but not this one; need suggestions for primary to bring up for this raid, with a positive if good for crucible too.
Edit: thanks everyone, used hung jury, longbow, and gjallerhorn (no swords due to daughter being older and in to everything, when destiny first came out she was a new born and would just nap on my lap and i could feed her a bottle balanced with my chin and she would just eat and nap, but now she is three and had to cut way back on raid time, with work 4:30 am to 3pm, and then mostly just crucible and strikes for the hour she naps each day, then watching kids shows with her after haha)
Edit 2: got the raid AR, hasn't left my primary slot yet. Do they all come with the same rolls like VoG and CE raid weapons?

I use Chaos Dogma (WotM Scout). It does fantastic DPS for a primary against those bosses. Works wonders when you've exhausted your heavy and special ammo during a DPS phase. It also has crazy range and hits like a truck, so picking off adds is easy.

A scout with explosive rounds works very well.

If you do the hard raid, steel medulla has been my go - to gun for the past week. Also the sniper is pretty decent as well
-
Yes. The raid weapons come with the same perks.

22 RepliesEdited by Nucah: 10/31/2016 1:29:59 PMIt's all preference really. Here are my loadouts at each phase. Vosik 1st encounter: Fever and Remedy Ex Machina Raze Lighter Vosik 2nd encounter: Outbreak Prime Ex Machina WoM Raid Rocket Launcher Siege: Fever and Remedy Ex Machina Raze Lighter Aksis phase 1: Fever and Remedy Ex Machina Raze Lighter Aksis phase 2: Fever and Remedy Ex Machina Dark Drinker

I've been wondering the same thing. What's the ideal weapon type for each slot? And what are the best alternatives to dark drinker+Radegast?
-
3 RepliesHung jury all the way.
-
I used my Lord High Fixer all the way up to getting the Steel Medula (Raid Pulse) Hand canons do pretty well in the Raid!
-
3 RepliesEdited by joe_ryan_mc: 10/31/2016 11:00:42 PMDefinitely the Hung Jury. I use the Hand of Judgement with explosive rounds, firefly, & braced frame. The firefly and explosive rounds work good for the extra damage, especially on the shit ton of shanks at Aksis.

Guide to rise of iron: 1) Obtain legendary marks 2) Buy crucible vendor Palindrone 3) Buy crucible vendor Event Horizon 4) Finish quest line for Gjallarhorn 5) Infuse either Raze Lighter or Dark Drinker 6) Profit in all PvE and PvP game modes

To edit 2: yes

Preferably a high impact scout rifle with explosive bullets bc the explosive bullets do more non head shot damage and can one shot the shanks.. Especially since head shot just cause the head seekers
-
2 RepliesI just use the raid autorifle for pretty much the whole thing.
-
I prefer scouts for raids. Usually have good sized magazines and can cover all ranges. Always go sniper in secondary. Heavy is Usually a exotic.

3 RepliesEdited by BRAX7ON 117: 10/30/2016 4:43:37 AMThis raid is all about the fallen. What you really need are some prison of elders weapons with shank burn…
-
You cannot get wrong with the raid scout & autorifle. If you do not have them yet , hung jury with firefly will do best or any good scout rifle with firefly or explosive rounds. Quick reload & ammo are more important than stability, look for weapon that reloads fast, do good damage and has plenty of bullets.
-
If you ever get the Raid Sniper "Ex Machina" from hard mode . . . KEEP IT! It does tons of damage on all fallen enemies .

4 RepliesWhat do people think of the zhalo supercell for this raid? Or would it be better to have the galley take up the exotic slot?
-
Any primary Devils Dawn/Event horizon with Spray/play Gjally/Sword/Sleeper Nothing manacle void walker
-
No time to explain Devil's dawn Rocket with grenades and horse shoes Sunbreakers with solar Viking funeral and burn.
-
4 RepliesSince day one of the release of this new raid the load out has been simple and effective: 1) pulse primary or auto primary(adept trials and raid pulse work fine) 2) 1000 yard stare or Long Bow 3) Gjallahorn for first part of raid 4) Razelighter for rest of raid Nothing else is better, regardless of others opinions.
-
I use my void Party Crasher and Sleeper Simulant all through the raid, then I use Genesis Chain for adds up until Aksis Phase 1, where you really need something to one-shot those Shanks. My Eyasluna was my go-to for that but might use my new Fever and Remedy now.
-
For me it's Outbreak for everything, Void Quanti for Captain murderfying, sniper for Zamboni until we get past the first wall, then more Quanti. Aksis is Outbreak and Sunsinger grenades. Heavy usually trades off between machine gun and rocket launcher
-
7 RepliesHung jury should work well. Also get a crucible vendor Event Horizon sniper rifle

1 ReplyEdited by Farrmark: 10/30/2016 6:04:14 PMOn my first run I used Bad Juju in the first area as it helped generate supers for killing the big shanks, before switching to Zhalo for mob clearing in phase two. Stuck with Zhalo for the Siege Engine before switching to my Full Auto, Firefly and Outlaw Wounded for the Aksis battle. Doing it again later, so probably gonna be Chaos Dogma from start to finish for the extra Fallen Damage and agility
