Bungie should host a Christmas event.
There. I said it.
For the last few times December has passed by, all we ever get is Strange Coins from some unknown benefactor.
Well I say to hell with that!
We've got Valentines Day and Halloween.
Why not do an event for [i]one of the most celebrated holidays there is[/i].
-Snowing in the Tower
-Shaxx with a Santa Hat
-Rahool as the Grinch
-And more "[i]CHRISTMASY[/i]" events
Whether or not people don't want this for "controversial" reasons, I don't care about that.
This is gonna have to happen someday.
We call it "Winter's Fair" and it's based around the Fallen House of Winter and Variks in the Reef.
-Ever since Draksis was killed, the House of Winter has been looking for a new Kell to replace him.
-Nikoliksis, Winter Claw, now seeks to claim Draksis's throne for himself by using the "Scarlet Septum"; a Vex-made power source from the future, to rebuild the House of Winter from the ground-up.
-Return to Venus and hunt down Nikoliksis before he gains enough power all over the Ishtar Sink.

Well here's a little know fact for ya that I'm gonna quote from a certain friend on here:

We just killed a Hive God. I think humanity is past Religions and the only thing they see as a God-Like figure is the Traveller. Hence why Christmas events have been doing well in GTA. Another thing is that not everyone celebrate Christmas. Look at the Crimson Days and Festival of the Lost. No one feels left out cause its does not have anything to do with any known Religion. But it borrows some aspect of the Holidays itself eg, with tick or treating with Halloween and you get stronger when your partner dies in doubles for Valentine's day. So, I'm all in for an event on Christmas. But not specifically a Christmas event. Edit: An idea for a Christmas like event. For that week, have trading enabled. You can gift someone a piece of weapon or armour. Once per Reset. Like a Secret Santa kinda deal. Increase drops for Strike Specific loot and Crucible Drops.

I work as a janitor. The only difference between Christmas and the rest of the year is people mumble sorry after they've spread their shit on the bathroom walls, even though they don't really feel sorry at all. I also have to mop floors nearly my entire shift because people don't give any -blam!-s about the snow that they track through the entire store even though all it takes is to stop/slow down for five goddamn seconds to stomp your feet on the -blam!-ing mats we bring out to avoid this shit. Then there's the stupid Christmas music they have on repeat for so freaking loooooong. TL:DR I hate Christmas/Christmas music and the normally inconsiderate people who now have the power to make my work day -blam!-ing miserable with their snow and coffee that they spill or dump into the trash while its half full. Meh, I'm just bitter. Celebrate your stupid holliday to your hearts content.

So funny to see all these people whining about it being a Christian holiday lol. There is nothing Christian about sitting around a tree and exchanging presents lol. And I Christian. Plenty of atheists amd non Christians, celebrate just that part, because it isn't religious. The only thing Christian, are the religious things that are celebrated on the same day. We don't have to do that stuff. Look at WOW, they have a Christmas themed event, doesn't offend.anyone, because it only focuses on the non religious aspects of the Holiday. A tree, some snow, lights, presents, egg nog, etc. Nothing religous about that.

I've been saying since Year 1 that a little snow in the Tower & some non religious decor would be nice near the end of Dec' but it's never gonna happen. There have been enough wars fought over whose imaginary friend is the most real, Bungie aren't about to start a holy war in Destiny. I guess Festival of the Lost is different because it focuses on the fun parts of Halloween, candy, masks, trick-or-treat, ghosties, ghoulies & long-leggedy beasies while ignoring any religious element. Also it's based on the Pagan festival Samhain, the Autumn equinox, when people traditionally started stocking up for winter & venerated their friends & relatives who had passed beyond the veil. As for Valentines Day that was merely an invention of the Hallmark card company to fill the gap between Xmas & Easter. Worked out pretty well for the candy companies too. It's interesting that both festivals have strong associations with sweets & candy come to think of it. Maybe someone at Bungie has a sweet tooth? ;)

Just too many people butt hurt about the word Christmas and offending and bla bla bla and Holidays...Hell I am an Atheist and I celebrate christmas...Free world I can do what I want...but I digress...we already getting snow :D so maybe extra snow in the tower? :D

Rise of Iron will have enough snow. no real need for an event, but yeah, for something that was hinted at, promised for HoW, we will finally have snow with RoI. gonna be great. lets grab our sled sparrows and make forts and throw snowballs at each other. (good idea for a crucible type, snowball launchers)
