Feminism

Mostly, I'm watching a video called The Dark Side of Political Correctness and it's absolutely terrifying how much is being banned, restricted, or deemed offensive. Harmless things, even, like calling someone American, or the use of the word Freshman. There's so much else that terrifies me. You know 1984? Thoughtcrime, newspeak, Big Brother, that's what this feels like. I'm truly scared, truly. Imagine you're standing on the shore outlooking the open ocean, nothing but sea ahead of you, and suddenly the waves start receding. And they just keep pulling back further and further, so far you can't see where they've gone. The ocean floor is exposed and soggy seaweed begins to dry, fish caught on the sand flop helplessly. But there's no mountains anywhere, there's no high ground, when this water comes back your entire world will be swallowed whole and there will be nothing left. That's what watching the Social Justice and Feminist movement feels like. If you disagree with someone, you're racist or sexist because we are reduced to our skin colour and gender. We are further reduced to our gender and skin colour when it comes to universities, schools, jobs, video games, true talent is completely disregarded in favour of focusing on things we can't help. If you disagree with a woman or her views you're sexist. If you disagree with a POC you're racist. Donald Trump supporters are attacked, abused, have their property damaged, and are harassed and ridiculed for their political stance. Anti-Trump supporters start a riot and Trump is blamed despite the fact that his supporters had nothing to do with it. Money and resources are wasted on manspreading even though women on average take up more space with their bags, and other labels like mansplaining are used to disregard anything a male says just because they're a male. So words like 'too' when referring to a woman are bad but 'mansplaining' created to harm a man is okay. Muslim abusers are getting away with sexual and physical assault because reporting the abuse would be considered racist. Young, impressionable, children are encouraged or pushed into not identifying as the gender they're born as, while in a lot of cases yeah these kids aren't comfortable in their gender it's being pushed so much that kids are regretting a decision they made as a kid. I went through phases myself, and I'm relieved that I was never given the chance to take hormones to make a permenant change as a child before I was able to find out who I was on my own. Traditional mothers are looked down on so much that they feel like they have to defend themselves. "Kill all men" is an okay hashtag to promote. Trigger warnings are so out of control that entire movie plots are spoiled with them. People want safe spaces where their views and ideas aren't allowed to be challenged. Two girls tried to get a guy arrested in Canada because he disagreed with them on Twitter. People don't want to be challenged, they don't want a discussion, they attack with 'you're racist/sexist' when someone disagrees with them instead of engaging. Mental disorders, morbid obesity, self diagnosis are promoted as if it's a badge of honour. The Ghostbusters trailer was a massive flop and lots of people greatly dislike it and instead of taking that criticism as it is anyone who doesn't like it is sexist. Yet the black woman is the 'harmful' stereotype and that's okay. A man lands on a comet but his achievement is disregarded because of his shirt, they say he was 'asking for it', but when it comes to women it's 'never the woman's fault'. They push an agenda with specific points but ignore others that are just as valid. Then there's real feminism, ones that fight oppressive societies that tell women that they aren't allowed to have a voice. A woman was arrested for driving alone and people are fighting for her. They're trying to change laws that will make it illegal for husbands to beat/kill/abuse their wives, they're setting up shelters for them. Girls miss school because of their periods and there are new developments being worked on to help them. We need more of this, as far as I'm concerned, because these women do need help and they do need support. This is what feminism should be fighting for. And, of course, first and second wave feminism that did get women the rights that they needed, the right to opt out of an unwanted pregnancy (for men and women), and a number of other good things that happen. Modern feminism isn't fighting for equality, but fighting for the implementation of Big Brother. I want to discuss, let's talk about why you think it is or isn't okay to have 'safe spaces' where your ideas can't be challenged. Let's talk about why censorship of books/movies/games/schools is or isn't okay. Let's talk about if you think it is or isn't okay to attack someone for their beliefs/ideas/thoughts. Let's talk about why you agree or disagree with banning words. I want to see if anyone else is as scared of this movement as I am, and I want to see if someone can tell me why a restriction of our free speech is a good thing. Thanks for reading. Edit: I posted this on one of those virtual pet sites and it got immediately locked. Looks like I've been proved right; feminists don't like their ideas being challenged. I thought I was pretty amicable right? I'm just bringing light to the subject. Edit2: Here are some awesome videos and other links that might help! However if someone comments with outraged distain they conveniently do not reply when they finally do bring up something that I can argue beyond "why are you wasting my time calling me names?" It's an interesting conversation. Keep it up, guys, I'm seriously loving this. I love all of you. Via Toonstrack:
You're absolutely right, but even they can't be fully blamed. They are simply a product of this generation. This me-first, screw-the-world, I-want-it-NOW generation. Selfish, impatient, and uncaring. It can be seen anywhere from a presidential rally to a Burger King line. This age of rapid technology has imbued in them the flawed notion that what they want is more important than anything else at any given moment, and that they shouldn't have to wait their turn. You go on the internet for long enough and you'll find SOMEONE who agrees with your ideology, no matter how ludicrous it is. This is turn has caused young people like myself who use it as a daily part of their lives to believe that they are right. Enough of these people band together and you've got yourself a 'movement.' It's a shame. The sad part is the generations that follow will be raised on these ideals, these fantasies that female superheroes can't be punched hard or be corrected by a male, can't be straight and white, and can't need rescuing, EVER. They will grow up believing they are untouchable and that society will protect them, when we all know things are VERY different in the real world. They will believe they are all part of a freer society, and when reality hits them like a brick wall, they won't know how to cope. "This isn't freedom. This is fear."
Via Mr EGFC
Feminism laid itself to rest when the women (and men) involved removed political boundaries holding women back, then "feminism" replaced it with for all I can see the intention of creating a matriarchy. Feminism became egalitarianism, Feminizism became "Feminism". In the developed world there is nothing a woman can't do that a man can. You can get the same job with the same wage working the same hours as a man if you are a woman, it just may be more difficult since some jobs are suited to men who are generally stronger; say this though and reasonable discussion with other people and the feminists of old is thrown out the window by remarks of sexism from "feminists".
• Personally, I believe that the human race is a plague to this world and needs to be eradicated. It should be obvious that I am a supporter of Thomas Hobbes, as I do think that humans need to be controlled by a fair, but powerful government. All this freedom jargon that people speak about in America is unrealistic. Humans have the inability to equally rule themselves. This is expressed by many dystopian novels such as 1984. While 1984 was originally written by Orwell in criticism of communist governments, it, ironically, expressed the problems in any government. The book furtively explains how humans who are set to rule over each other will end up creating a system in which someone is unjustly treated. It is because of this point that I reach my final conclusion: humans need to be wiped out. Humans tell themselves that they are better than all other organisms, that they have transcended nature, yet they still cannot fight back their primordial urges of greed and attachment. They are hypocritical, misguided, lowly beasts. I could go on explaining the cruel actions of humans against other species, but I don't have time right now. In the end, the greedy and malicious nature of humanity proves its own disarray. It is why I hold no hope for them.

  • There's a lot of this happening in our world right now. The truth is everyone is obsessed with power. Be it power for ones race, gender, political orientation, or sexual preference, everyone wants more power for the group that they identify with. No one is seeking true equality.

Last I checked "Feminism" isn't "man-hating" or the concept that women are better than men. It is simply gender equality with a misleading title. The concept of man-hating or female superiority perpetrated by women is by all means sexism in and of itself, and will not be tolerated. That being said, this feminism is already in gaming. One can choose a female character in the creation screen and won't face any functional disadvantage. Emma Watson is a celebrity who pushes for what I am defining.

            • I agree with pretty much everything you said. So-called "political correctness" is destroying society. Another thing that bugs me is how whenever you say something that conflicts with someone's opinion, they are "offended" and you have somehow committed a crime by disagreeing with someone.

You should post a link of the video. I do agree with you, political correctness is slowly becoming the downfall of our society. It creates a massive false sense of entitlement and lack of responsibility for personal actions. Ex. It's ok for me because I'm a "so and so." You'll find most politically correct social justice arguments are hypocritical in nature. The worst part of this whole decay is that it is no longer about actually being offended, but the convenience of being offended. "What can I get for being "offended?" If you pay attention to current events, you can get a lot. This also creates a lack of accountability, as there is little no no repercussions for false claims and accusations. Now to discuss all of these things in a single example, let's look at the pastor that received jail time for not agreeing to wed a gay couple. (I fully support equality, which gay marriage falls under, unlike social justice advocates who unknowingly/knowingly support favorability/superiority). Now this gay couple sued the pastor, but was it their first option? Or was it convenient to do so? I truly think it was the 2nd choice, namely being, "what can I get out of being offended?" If they opted to go with another pastor who truly celebrated their marriage, it most likely would have created a better atmosphere for the event that all parties would enjoy. But again they choose to sue the one who declined. Now let's look at the outcome, the pastor received a sentence of a few months jail time. I remember reading the exact quote from the judge, "it's the law now you have to obey it." We can delve into that another time, but since the pastor received jail time, he effectively was no longer able to wed the couple. So what did they really gain? Are they going to find another pastor because they have no choice? Or wait for for that pastor to get released and ask/force him to do their wedding again, this time treating him with another lawsuit if he doesn't? In short, political correctness is becoming infallible. There is almost no downside for being "offended," so why not loudly be "offended" by everything?

There are many sister pages as well, as offended feminists mass report to get them shut down] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUPuMs3E_k0 [Paul Joseph Watson on racism/migrants] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1JQUG7doCE [Anpther Paul Joseph Watson on what women in power are allowed to say because they're women] https://www.youtube.com/user/PrisonPlanetLive [Just, all of Paul Joseph Watson. His screechy imitation of feminist tweets is a bit much, but his content is solid] http://www.realsexism.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMl4kIxw-jo [The Dark Side of Political Correctness, the original video that sparked my writing this.] There are many more, and just for fun, if you want to feel depressed and see examples of what feminism(if it's really about equality) should be helping but isn't, here you go: https://www.facebook.com/Fathers4kids/?fref=ts http://www.infowars.com/ Edit3: The thing I'm finding about this topic is that someone comments opposing what I've said, and once I reply with an educated and informed response, I get no further reply.
