Why do people defend thorn? 0.73s TTKill with 3 body shot
This weapon is stupidly op and should get a nerf asap, especially when you use it as a sunsinger, the burns melt people

I camped in corners...I used every fkn scrub tactic in the book. And I loathe myself for it. I saw my points rise to 250 then came back down to 0. I wiped my tears and started all over. When I finally killed that Bitch Xyor the goddamn Unwed, it was one of the biggest achievements of my Destiny experience. So why do we defend Thorn? We defend it because ppl like me who can be absolute dreadful at PvP grinded to obtain it. Yeah we earned it. So if you think for one second I feel any guilt for pulling it out one you...think again. We sold our souls to this weapon. We became scrubs for this weapon.

Well not going to say its not strong... but.. stop rushing straight into it. Try to move around the guy. I personally dont have thorn anymore. But I get killed by it alot. I just simply take a mental note who it was (may take two or three deaths) and then avoid rushing that person head on. Flank and shoot em in the side or back. Nothing they can do

Luck in the chamber snipers weren't overpowered. Felwingets lie wasn't over powered. Sunbreakers were not overpowered. ALL of these things were overpowered. People just don't like their crutches taken away. The simple fact is, that if you need to use thorn to win a game in destiny, that win isn't valid (unless you were already playing against an entire team of thorn users of course).

Why do people still die by Thorn? Have you not heard of the "Don't peek twice" rule? Are you not creating space and using a reasonable mid to long range gun against it? Have you not learned the Detox Slide? I haven't died by Thorn in almost 6 months now. If you still are, it's not the gun that's the problem.

I don't have Thorn, don't complain about it either. I helped a friend get it way back when.... he seemed happy. I was happy for him. Maybe bungie could start a classic playlist just for Thorn users. Everyone on the list can three body shot each other. Lotsa Mr. Yuck green colors. Lotsa stories of how hard it was or how easy it was to get it. No more nerf requests. Heck, make it two body shot kill. Oh well, we got what we got.... And it's still pretty fun to me.

1 ReplyIt's not op, and down right garbage at the ranges it used to be perfect for. It used to be my favorite before the buff because of the uniqueness, but it was terrible for my K/D in crucible: yes, I'm aware I have an obscene amount of kills with it, but that's because thrall charge in a single column perfect for one shot yo kill them all. Then it got buffed and my favorite gun didn't suck! Wheee! Then it got nerfed and it just doesn't stack up anymore. I get hit by it all the time. Especially in crimson doubles. Kill them before they land that last shot, rarely die to the poison. It's not OP, you just find it annoying.

Got my Thorn way back in Iron Banner 3. Atheons Epilogue is how I managed to get the necessary Crucible kills Levelled it up in PVE and came to the conclusion that hand cannons don't work for me. It was a good quest line to get it so for those that like it I say use it. For those that don't like it use something you do like. It was definitely used a lot prior to the hand cannon nerf. I ran Mida back then to counteract it. In year 2 there are many more options so Thorn or even TLW are not to be feared nor further nerfed.
