Rush B. There's no need for everyone to cap the flag where you spawn. Fight for B early and you'll net more points in the long-run.
Don't triple cap ever! The name of the game is CONTROL. Leave the enemy a flag to spawn so you know where they are. If you push too far they'll spawn behind you and/or your teammates will get shot in the back, spawns will flip and confusion will set in.
Save your super for heavy round to either attack a heavy spawn point or defend one. Also, WAIT for your teammates. You'll win more games if more of your teammates have heavy ammo. But don't be a dumbass and wait too long to get nova bombed. Use your head.
Don't use your teammates as bait. I've seen plenty of guardians watch a gunfight and clean up an easy kill. Team shot every chance you get. Assists are just as good as kills.
Don't feed the enemy. If you ran through a choke point and got domed by a sniper. Choose a different path, slide around corners and avoid snipe lanes. Snipers hate being flanked, so flank them.
Rushing shotgunners can be annoying. Avoid close quarters whenever you can and make them chase you. Chances are a teammate will put some shots on him and you can set up a quick snipe when the turn the corner. Also, if a player is crouched in a corner with a shotty don't challenge unless you have a shotgun yourself. Let him sit there all game.
Hope this helps. I'm an ok player that plays solo 99% of the time. Let's all work together to get some good loot.

Also, on Widow's Court, it seems easier to control A and C instead of B and another point. They are just closer together is all, and the map is laid out like how Blind Watch used to be laid out with one point being much farther from the others. Another thing, for the first cap of the game when you spawn in, notice the amount of points the opposing team scores as that will tell you how many stayed to cap and how many left to either flank or rush B.

2 RepliesIt's really "just don't roll solo because Bungie will just put you in a game already in progress where you're behind by 9k points and they all have heavy and supers. Also, they refuse to comment on the -blam!-ing lag problem."
-
Good tips. I disagree about using teammates for bait though. Yes team shoot but also no reason to take point when you can't communicate. In a fireteam you get call outs and aren't rushing in blind. Solo you can't get that (more in a second) so you should stay grouped when possible but don't run too close in case a super / heavy / sniper / grenade happens to find its way through. Now my tip...enter team chat and see if anyone is in chat. For those who don't know who to do this: (Xbox one) Press back button > move d pad up to highlight chat channel. Press A > d pad right until "team chat" is selected. Press A.

Only tip: Go to recruitment & find a team. Solo IB is a bummer most of the time but on the bright side theirs medallions now so it's not all bad unless you keep losing more than 5 in a row lol

1 Replytelesto is working magic this IB, as long as you can aim that is :)

1 ReplyI really wish that bungie could post this as a PSA on the ship flight in. Especially the go for B and do not cap all 3
-
Well said! Very much agree on the importance of B in map control. Get there early to dictate the pace and put the enemy on their back heel. If I'm mic'd up I tell my team to leave one player only to capture the starting base. Ditto choke points... Patience is the key to all things. Let them come to you -- they will eventually.

This is good info for solo players good to see decent helpful posts

That's actually great advice whether you play solo or as a team.

Great Post!!!! Like you, I too am a solo player......If I may, I like to add a point that I have been guilty of in the past but no longer do. Do not play to get revenge on a player that has killed you more than once. Play to win as a team!! If you start to rage take a 20 min break and collect yourself. Do Not let your emotions negate the great advice grecko506 wrote.

2 RepliesGood words! It still just boggles my mind how people can't seem to comprehend the idea of spawn flipping and managing spawn locations. You don't cap your point +B just so you can spawn camp, you do it so that you always know approximately which direction your enemies will be coming from at all times. Of course there is always, ALWAYS that moron who runs over to the enemy flag, flips the spawns and 20 seconds later the entire enemy team spawns directly behind you. If you are that idiot who thinks it's best to try and triple cap well...................idiot. Sure, if you are just face rolling the other team that's one thing. Otherwise, hold your home flag and B, you'll win much more often.

2 RepliesEdited by mac: 12/30/2015 5:02:54 PMIf we want to split hairs, there are 2 good things that can make a difference in sweaty matches. especially for a group of randoms vs a team. 1. You can go for a neutralise only : then fall back if hanging around to capture is risky. limiting score per kill across the map vs feeding a kill and letting them re-cap anyway. backup might arrive to keep them from capping vs diving 1 by 1. 2. That's another good use for supers, save them for same situations as point 1: to deny a capture or secure one.

Stick around your teammates. Fight together. Play smart and fight to survive. Don't sacrifice yourself to cap a point unless your team is close by and willing to defend.

4 RepliesI'm a new player, about a month in, and so this is my first IB event. now I recognize my lack of skill so control gives me the best option to manage getting zones, completing bounties, getting those quest grenade kills, and of course having fun. But despite, my limited experience, here's one tip I think I can share. When someone (other team) throws up a Ward of Dawn over a zone, don't try to be a hero and run in there alone and try to capture the zone unless you want to get donkey punched. I've gotten so many easy kills by idiots who forget that I'm getting like double armor while sitting there.

1 ReplyEdited by Dooodley: 12/30/2015 4:55:34 PMHow do I avoid getting thrown into a game in progress where my team is missing three players - even after I've joined - and the score is 5000- 200 in favor of the other team? I'd like to know because that scenario makes up for 50 % of my matches. Then we have 45 % where I'm placed in an all solo team against a full fireteam and a 5 % of balanced matches, in terms of party sizes, which still turn out to be totally lopsided in one direction or the other. I can't remember playing PvP in this game and thinking to myself "that was a fun/good even match". It never happened.

Good stuff :)

2 RepliesEdited by iannmorales: 12/30/2015 4:41:34 PMSo you say not to triple cap so you can spawn kill? Oh yea ironbanner control is so much better then clash. Not saying you in general think that

5 RepliesWhen is the best time to cash in the weekly bounties?

All good points, this is what the teams that I've been playing with do generally.

When approaching zones, I crouch to mask my radar sig. Also, sidearms are very viable secondaries.
