Because it interferes with an opponents view, causes DOT, and is still strong at close range. That and destiny is made to where your level doesn't matter in crucible.

Why not? It's a decent gun to use and if that's what they like who are you judge? I personally hate the gun because of all the bad memories back in the day, but I will never shun a weapon because of its power or how broken it is. This is a game to have fun, not trying to keep a k/d on the positive side. Let people have fun with whatever weapon they like.

Because even though it's balanced, its still a beautiful weapon and its still powerful. It's DoT allows you to see a tagged target's general movement through walls. It's poison draws focus away from the gunfight and makes it a little harder to see. And teamshooting with Thorn is very powerful.
