This post was based off of MysticalSnurtle's. Basically it shows you how they are balanced in terms of stats and thats how bungie is going to decide wether it needs a nerf or not, by using data.
Dont even try countering this as you cant refute factual evidence
-
It does need one, and I'm sure it will get one. Enough of the community has called it out already so there's nothing you can do at this point

2 RepliesLol silly sunbreakers still trying to defend their broken super.

186 RepliesEdited by Terranaza: 10/20/2015 2:30:54 PMEDIT: Discussion moved to https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/164699215 Facts (That's right, I'm going to refute it): 1) Destiny Tracker's statistics started at the beginning of Vanilla Destiny (If I'm wrong on this, I have another argument. Just wait!). A) Given this, the highest super (Golden Gun) obtained ~199m kills over the course of ~13.5 months. A total of 199/13.5 = 14.74m kills per month. Sunbreaker? ~130m kills over 1.5 months, for a total of 130/1.5 = 86.66m kills per month. That's 5.9 times as many kills! #Statistics. B) 199m kills over a total population of 44% of Hunters' ~2.1m players. That equates to 199m/(2.1m*.44) = 215.37 kills per player using Golden Gun. 130m kills over a total population of 15% of Titans' ~2m players. That equates to 130/(2*.15) = 433.33 kills per player using Hammer of Sol. Twice as effective. Note that everything else pales in comparison and is therefore not worth mentioning (Nightstalker data is corrupt as assist via Tether counts as kills for Shadowshot). #Statistics. 2) DTR's data is only from DTR's tracked players. Therefore the data is unrepresentative of the total population and thus moot in terms of balance discussion. #Statistics. Factual evidence only matters when you know how to interpret said evidence. Your move, Titan. EDIT (Because it's kind of important):
I agree that other classes need to be buffed. HoS needs to be brought to balance with Stormtrance and have its neutral game brought up to balance out the class, and all non-TTK classes need major buffs.
Instead of nerfing the new subclasses to balance out with the old ones, the new subclasses are a healthy balance of power, utility, and interesting mechanics and should be used as a baseline for balance - Stormcaller should be the baseline that other subclasses are balanced to. Strong neutral game, strong super. There should be no point where you feel weaker overall for choosing a subclass. Another EDIT (PLEASE READ): Thanks for all the positivity and keeping it clean, guys! This is possibly the least toxic thread (Er, this reply chain anyways) I've seen on the Destiny forums, which is awesome. I'm heading to bed so I won't be replying anymore, but I encourage you guys to keep the positive conversation going so that maybe someone at Bungie might actually see it. Maybe if they see this thread, instead of over-nerfing Sunbreaker they can take some of our suggestions and use that to tweak Sunbreaker into a fun and healthy class for everyone, Sunbreakers and non-Sunbreakers alike. As a final note, here was my suggestion:
I personally like this idea, what do you think? 1) Replace Cauterize with a strong utility-based perk. Unsure exactly what. 2) Replace Catapult with a new perk equivalent to Twilight Garrison's exotic perk (Possibly for Defender as well - Striker just needs Catapult fixed to work properly). 3) Change Simmering Flames to have a 3-tiered buff based on how much super energy you have. Tier 1 for 0 super, Tier 2 for half, Tier 3 for full. Tier 3 is current full Simmering Flames effect.

Removing Cauterize drastically reduces Hammer of Sol's power - Not enough to neuter it, but enough to open up real counterplay. Adding in Twilight Garrison's perk adds some base utility as well as adding in some flavor to Titans' otherwise lackluster Jump options. Changing Simmering Flames both gives neutral game power and gives an incentive to try out different builds. As for what the utility perk that replaces Cauterize should be, I'm unsure - possibly something to do with damage reduction in certain use-cases (Non-super) to accentuate the whole Titan "tank" fantasy? Meh, I'm not good at coming up with fun perks on the spot.
Dont even try countering this as you cant refute factual evidence
Dont even offer this up as irrefutable if you obviously dont understand sample size and how to research your sources before handing in a paper... Let the nerf hammer bosses in pvp convo continue...

5 RepliesI don't care about nerfing it. But If I shoot a rocket at you...
you should die
-
5 RepliesYour stats mean nothing, Destiny tracker only accounts for the Destiny tracker population.
-
Data is dumb. Be in the field
-
data shows shut up. It needs a nerf
-
I think it's still early to see the character curve, many people like me have 3 characters and I barely finished my Sunbreaker subclass yesterday. If you look closely, storm caller and sun breaker are already on par, under the nightstalker only because of the glitch, remove that and in a few months you'll see the trends,
-
5 RepliesIt needs it's health dropped cause if I get a head shot with my snipe it won't die
-
People will complain no matter what. Even though storm caller and nightstalker are just as good if not better.
-
you guys are all scrubs

19 RepliesEdited by novasam333: 10/21/2015 11:22:38 PMTy for this. Idiots will be idiots and try to circumvent this, but today, we have won.
and we've won all the other days too since this data ain't going anywhere
-
Data shows Bungie doesn't care, and is gonna do what they want to do.
-
Stats are from Destinytracker's tracked gamers, not entire population.

DestinyTracker is an unofficial fan site. We are NOT Bungie. Bungie owns everything Destiny related.
-
the fact most titians suck isnt the point, we already knew that
-
Yeah but the word "Data" dosent play the game
-
Data shows scrubs can't utilize an op super
-
Data shows that yore pretty biased towards Titans.
-
I am personally biased on this subject, but this class is super only. The grenades are meh and the melee has no range like hunter and warlocks. Without a super it has no utility, so in my opinion it's super would tend to be better. The lock melee kills from 10 feet away and hunter throwing knives probably add up quite a bit more than a Titans melee kills.
-
Lol this class is easy mode in pvp and you cant deny it. I had a lot of huge killstreaks recently with this class because of OP super, its the fastest, has the best nade, and imo the best melee in the game.
-
Sun breaker doesn't need a nerf, HoS needs a nerf
-
10 RepliesThe damage output doesnt bother me. It bothers me when it takes 3 gunslinger shots to kill a solar titan while hes tossing hammers. The over-shield is too much. Its not like the striker shield or void warlock shields, simply because those r one hit wonders. The solar t can cover the map with mini nova bombs while regenning health. That is op.

Edited by Sixclicks: 10/22/2015 2:35:39 PMProblem is that isn't factual evidence. DT's stats are for a select sample of players and the math itself for the K/Ds doesn't add up at all. It is impossible for all three classes to have an average k/d over 1.0 because for every kill there is a death plus any suicides. These are more realistic values. They include the whole population and are updated continuously. Sunbreakers have been back and forth with Gunslingers all week. They were tied a couple of days ago at 1.09. Here's the link: http://guardian.gg/ The stats on this link also only show stats since TTK whereas DT's are since the beginning of the game.

2 RepliesEdited by Leon1des: 10/22/2015 8:28:46 AMScrub can't analyze stats. Just bc another class is more popular it does not mean sunbreakers is not op. Take a statistics course scrub before making foolish arguments. Sunbreakers could be the least used subclass overall but it would still be the most broken subclass. Why? Bc if you actually looked at the numbers that did matter, you would realize that sunbreakers is the only offensive super that will eat 2 shotgun shots, or 1 sniper head shot 100% of the time. The only usual way to counter this super 99% percent of the time in close quartered maps would be with another super or running away. Again scrub, no other offensive super eats a sniper headshot or two immediate shotgun shots. This is what makes it broken not how often he is used scrub. Take a stats course then come back and realize how stupid you sound.
