None of these weapons are getting a year two version at launch, how do people feel about that in addition to the fact there will not be a year two ghorn or icebreaker
EDIT: for those that haven't picked up on what I am saying, if you view the one minute TTK teaser that was released the day before the reveal, you will notice at 34s you see a different exotic collection which has year one versions of these primaries but there is not a corresponding year 2 version. So regardless of what people think about the vague promise of more year two exotics to come. This would suggest at launch at least, there will not be a year two version of these guns. This is of course not saying there isn't a way to infuse or ascend year one exotics to higher attack/light levels, but DeeJ very carefully didn't showing the perks screen of the year one exotic weapons
EDIT 2: is it possible that when they stipulated in the video infusion would only apply to year two gear, they were referring to legendaries given they were at the crucible vendor and they have completely skipped over mentioning the same process would apply to year one exotics?
EDIT 3: so I have watched the stream again for about the fourth time and it does seem to be fairly concrete that year one exotics will not benefit from infusion, just around the time they are at the gunsmith they talk about infusion and specifically state that only year 2 legendary and exotic weapons and armour will benefit from infusion. But I would just add that at no point in the video do they show the perks screen for any exotic weapon, so there a very very slim possibility there may be something there
EDIT 4: weekly update confirms Gjallarhorn will remain as a year one exotic at year one levels and only certain exotics will be getting year 2 treatment
EDIT 5: PlanetDestiny have a video up which suggests all year 1 Exotics will make the trip into Year 2 (however there is even a comment on the video itself which suggests some might be held off until year 3), video is here https://youtu.be/ZIbSPTjpfzU but they are quick to point out the Gjallarhorn is not in the near complete build they have played. We also have to take much of this with a pinch of salt based on the fact that planetdestiny is reporting on two different sources, Edge magazin and the pfficial playstation magazine.

Thorn I don't want the year 2 upgrade but the others I wouldn't mind upgrading those to year 2
-
3 RepliesTwo of the weapons are raid weapons so it makes sense
-
Regardless of which will and won't, I don't understand the fact that Bungie is fixing drops so duplicates won't happen. I mean, I play because I don't know what will drop, but I know what can drop.

2 RepliesAll exotics should be relevant.

4 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 8/21/2015 9:39:44 PMThe main thing I do not like about Destiny is how they keep changing the system with every update. I can almost guarantee they are going to make another system when the next expansion after TTK comes out. For everyone upset about leaving your old gear behind, they should just make a "Etheric light" type item that bumps your gear to lvl 40. This infusion process seems kind of stupid to me. If anything, say you happen to get a "MIDA" in a Taken King nightfall, will it be a lvl 20 yr 1 MIDA or a lvl 40 version? What if you get a Gally drop from Oryx.. Will it be lvl 40 or lvl 20?

Thank god thorn is dead I hate that PoS
-
4 RepliesThey better make the Necrochasm and vex year 2 weapons, People have spent months trying to get them and with the recent changes to the Necrochasm it would blow if we don't have a year two version... I want to kill Oryx with the crux of his son
-
7 RepliesI think it's good. The game needs to move forward. They -blam!-ed up with Gally, it should never have been that powerful. Here is hoping Year 2 won't have another crutch weapon that defines the experience again (i.e. Thorn in PvP and Gally in PvE).
-
2 RepliesWhy nerf or buff them and if they will not be brought to year two?
-
They don't want everyone to use the same guns so make year one not so good and people put them down. Then make some new year two guns that are better and everyone will now use them...... Oops back to the we don't want everyone with the same guns again. Flaw in there logic.

4 RepliesBest thing to happen to the game

3 RepliesEdited by r00dboy: 8/21/2015 7:29:28 PMBuffs Necrochasm after 6 months of being useless to make it a viable weapon. Leaves it at year 1 level the day of the buff. Great troll Bungie. It's one weapon I was looking forward to using.
-
3 RepliesIf Icebreaker doesn't "upgrade" to year 2... I'll be extremely dissapointed... I'll still play, but dissapointed.
-
1 ReplyOnly a select few exotics. That includes armor will come over and have a year 2 version. Not all exotics were acquired in year one of that pic. So we really don't know exactly which items are coming over. For sure Gally is not. It will stay at year 1 values.

4 RepliesI don't really care about the Thorn, I'm so tired of that gun, but Hard Light and Necrochasm are particularly weird choices given that Bungie is just about to buff them. Not to mention the Vex's exclusion, along with the Necrochasm's, makes the previous raids entirely pointless now.
-
7 RepliesVex might be upgraded... That might be the next ghally
-
1 ReplyEdited by Spellbinding Circle: 8/21/2015 2:12:30 PMI don't care if there's no year two versions of every exotic what I do care about is not being able to bring all that exotic armor and weaponry up to year 2 stats. I will be truly disappointed if that's the case. :/ Edit: A complete shake up of the games economy with every new expansion is getting exhausting to say the least.. I smell another grind fest coming. Even through my nay saying words I know I'll be there anyway lmao.
-
4 RepliesRemember though all exotics have no attack stats for crucible. So you can still use in crucible
-
1 ReplyFinally. People can learn how to use other weapons. Than just one gun.

1 ReplyEdited by Crims0nHaybaler: 8/21/2015 2:49:41 PMI'm still waiting for more information. While it's been good to have the first twitch stream out there are still a lot of unknowns and I'll continue to hold off on TTK until Bungie get more information out in the public domain. Bungie have a lot to prove weapons wise after the dire state of HoW. I think it's natural for a lot of people to need convincing that things going through into TTK will be good and not follow in the lacklustre ways of year1. I certainly hope that the reason for leaving certain year1 weapons behind isn't because the year2 offerings are trash and a similar year1 exotic that was bought forward would out perform it or be more enjoyable to use...

2 RepliesDid Deej's character own a necro, thorn, etc.? Like you see them in the year 1 page, but not on the year 2? Can't view it myself now...
-
2 RepliesI'm too interested in the new stuff to worry about the old stuff.
-
4 RepliesWell they will still be able to be upgraded to the max attack.
-
5 RepliesIt ends the "ten" year adventure for me. None too soon. Good luck Have currently 5 characters 3 34's with about everything in the game had two more about to 34 and with this latest slap in the face bungie gets no more from me. they don't have a journey they have grind rinse and repeat every 3 months. If that is your kind of game you need therapy.
