3 RepliesI'm fine with the changes. I might actually use it in pve, but it's gonna need more than Mark of the Devourer. If it ignored some percentage of enemy shields, it'd make a fine weapon in pve. But the mag size reduction bothers me

After much deliberation and consideration, I have decided that nerfing the Thorn is fair. As much as I love using Thorn (it was my first exotic weapon, after all), I have come to realize how overpowered it is compared to most guns. Even after the 2.0 update, I still plan to use it, though, because it complements Khepri's Sting so nicely! ;-)

None of the guns should have been nerfed because now barly any people are going to use thorn or last word because of auto rifles i know that people will still use thorn and no one will be using last word because its geting nerfed to the ground.

I feel that the upcoming nerf is sad but necessary. As a heavy Last Word user, I will be hit hard. My days of breaking even in the Crucible will probably end. However, when you need one of two or three guns to survive in the Crucible, and your participation in an activity hinges on whether you have a certain rocket launcher, something is wrong. And we've done it to ourselves.

Yes. And I use Thorn. I'm just so tired of using it and getting killed by it. I miss my atheons epilogue.

Thorn needed a nerf in pvp. I don't play it but when I used thorn, as a terrible player, I was getting more kills than usual. I can't imagine this being in an awesome pvpers hand. Ice breaker on the other hand, not justified.

As much as I love the Thorn, her time as an op hand cannon was not going to last. I'll still use it though

Got to the point that 4/6 people were running thorn. HOWEVER, when I went to play combined arms, there were hardly any thorns or last words. Went to town with my three little words and vision of confluence. This causes me to believe that most of the problem with thorn and the last word are that they excel in the small-map environment that is the crucible. They would struggle in maps like first light and skyshock. I want to see the huge maps from the beta put into regular rotation. This might force people to switch from their beloved hand cannons to something else that fits the map better. I voted yes to nerf range and maybe aim assist, but the weapon should stay lethal in close to mid range, especially since the bounty is quite difficult. I just wish there were more maps that favored the pulse and scout rifle users.

You have -blam!-ed the game for all the people who have spent so many hours to get those wepons and have made the game not fun to play when the taken king comes out

I think I still like TLW more. I say just nerf the range on thorn a bit. Make it a bit more realistic. Maybe increase the reload speed a tad also. And I think the dps should be a little more powerful in PvE. It doesn't even do anything to yellow bar enemies. It should also stack..which they are doing in the update.

1 ReplyYou nerf Thorn then it won't be able to compete at all. The gun is like a sniper and hand cannon put together, the fire rate isn't fast enough to keep up with the fire rate of other weapons... unless they buff impact
