Listen, I've played a fair amount of destiny. A fair amount. My friend has played even more, much, much more than I have.(literally doubling everyone's playtime within the group, and some of us have been in the game since alpha).
So today he quit. You wanna know why? PoE.
Eyup. POE.
Qodok or whatever his name is, has finally broken him.
The boss is doable, don't get me wrong. But my friend is just tired of playing week after week and passing everyone's playtime but never having a gjallihorn.
Same story you heard a billion times. But in the end, that's what did it.
He couldn't stand having to put in so much more effort, literally hours more per raid, just because someone got a specific gun that makes the game two difficulty settings lower.
Me. I'm in the same boat. I can't stick with this game knowing that I'm having to put more effort, a lot more, just because bungie made this game's rng wack and removed gjal from xur.
========================================================================
It's frustrating to play this game knowing that if I don't have gjally, i have to cheese, hope the AI doesn't zerk me, and pray to RNjesus I make it through.
While some chumps on youtube can just burn the boss down in less than 2 minutes with absolutely zero strategy required.
====================================================
So today bungie, you lost a loyal(very loyal) player. My friend played roc strikes. He played dragon. He played more than anyone in our group was even on combined just for that little shot at extra loot.
But alas, he grew tired and weary. Frustrated that we have to cheez new raids just because content from the initial released was nowhere to be found for his hard work.
So that's it. That's the story for today.
Edit: Please have a little maturity in the comments. I'm writing this as a general note, not to get your sympathy.
Edit2: Please note that I stated above that I can do the raid, it's just a lot longer process for this(and other) raids without Gjal.
Edit3: Please note that the problems with Gjallarhorns strength have just been increased with PoE as far as we are concerned. This was highlighted this week with 30 second kills of just "shoot the boss"(ignore all the mechanics) while we have to go through frustration that is playing this boss normally.
-I will be referencing this edit in my further comments.
Edit4: For some reason nobody seems to read this so I'll state it very clearly and precisely:
-The actual drop of Gjal is not that big of a problem. The problem is that Gjal creates a huge gap within capabilities. This is highlighted within PoE and was not such a big issue within the other raids and content previously.

1 ReplyJust look at most walk throughs these days. 1 thing in common, they have Gally.
-
3 RepliesI got mine from 28 PoE, I'm grateful for it, I will never ask anyone to have a ghorn, because community, guess what.......
you don't need one.
-
1 ReplyIs he taking a break, or did he go full retard and delete everything.
-
1 ReplyYep i have had 6-7 gjallarhorns over the course of time and i hate people just gjallarhorning everything and then boasting about their skill. I beat the gatelord how he was intended to be beat with all classes this week, 'carrying' a 33 every run. Imo it is just more fun AND accomplishment AND easy once you work out the strategy Especially the last part feels good. When something hard at the beginning becomes routine and easy. (I don't understand why your mate didn't buy gjallarhorn the first time - like i did - when he played so much but that's another thing.)
-
1 ReplyI swear you Gjallarbabies are worse than those "10 cents to a day to save these puppies" commercials.
-
12 RepliesWhy does everyone think gally is not in xurs roll chances?
-
2 Repliesthat ghorns helping nobody on skolas this week
-
1 ReplyYou don't need gally for new co,tent, he's just a whining pussy

2 RepliesPersonally, I don't have a gjallarhorn, and I know I would love one. But on the other hand, I find it more fun and interesting and challenging since I don't have one. On Tuesday, I beat Qodron with two of my friends who both had gjallarhorn. I only used hunger of crota. We didn't cheese it at all, and we had no idea what to expect going into it. After about 15 wipes, we finally figured out what to do, and eventually we beat him the real way. It was so much fun, I had such a good time laughing and challenging myself, almost the same way I felt when beating atheon the first time. Putting it simply, I didn't need gjallarhorn to beat the level. But most importantly, I didn't need gjallarhorn to have fun. What makes any game fun is playing with friends, enjoying their company, and challenging yourself. If you don't have any friends to play with, then make some. I had never met the people I played with in person, but it was still fun and I felt an amazing feeling of accomplishment. No lack of items or weapons should ruin a game. If it did, then remind your friend know that he's playing the game to have fun, not to sulk about a weapon. Hope this helps

3 RepliesI see why i stopped reading the Destiny forums Just plain stupid
-
1 ReplyHe will be back. It's an addiction man it really is.
-
1 ReplyEdited by crazeeavery: 5/29/2015 2:21:32 PMI have Gjallarhorn and rarely use it. There are so many other fun guns to use why limit my self to one because it's op. All Gjallarhorn does is take the fun out of the game..
-
1 Reply...Play Crucible? If you use Gjallarhorn on Crucible you are THE jerk in that match. Such a waste of an exotic in Crucible, I'd rather use the Vex, Thorn, TLW, Red Death, and a few Iron Banner guns and some op blues. If you're going to use Gjallarhorn in Crucible, gtfo. Rockets already rek people.

Sounds like he has a case of the jelly-bellys....

1 ReplyThe other day I was looking for strats on the PoE bosses. What I got was 3 guys spamming the boss with wolf pack rounds. Great strategy! Not. I then realized that I'm a rarity, a living breathing exotic! I have no Ghorn, nor a single elemental primary, yet I still get NFs and high level content done. So everytime I see a busta say, 'that was easy' or 'git gud' or 'I want a challenge' when talking about End Game content I crack a little smile. If they only knew!

2 RepliesYou're gonna quit over some dumb RL. Good riddens if that's what makes you quit. Its called random loot for a reason, its random
-
1 ReplyYou don't need gjallahorn this week, except for urrox and that's 32, I bear qadron without using heavy it took us 35 minutes
-
1 Replyyou know what I say to this? - bitch ass nïgga.
-
1 ReplySo....he quit because RNG? Annnnnd...this is just a long "Please sell gally Bungie because I deserve it!" Post? Sooooo sick of this.
-
1 ReplyEvery time someone posts one of these the folks at Bungie have to take a shot... Please, think of their livers!
-
1 ReplyFound 3 ghorns last week...just sayin
-
1 ReplyHey man, listen I finally just got my Gally this week. I was really starting to give up. The trick is to keep trying. Then you will get it when you least expect it. Bottom line perseverance is key when it comes to this game.
-
1 ReplyJust do the 28 over & over... Heard a ton of people got Gally from that...
-
1 ReplySo what is your complaint? Nerf the ghorn so it is harder on everyone?
-
4 RepliesEdited by Tomato Gravy: 5/29/2015 2:02:54 AMEdit......please just stop with all the pointless gjallarhorn nonsense. You have to be lucky to get it.....thats all......end of story....live with it. I almost wish bungie would just give everyone 10 gjallarhorns......even for brand new players, they would be in your vault from the start. Maybe then we could get some relief from the endless torrent of meaningless gjallarhorn threads.
