So I've put about 1000 hours into this game, doing the maximum raid runs and nightfalls weekly and I have received (and upgraded) every exotic gun but the Gjallahorn. Last night my friend sends me a "selfie" with his new toy. And low and behold it's a brand new Ghorn. Do I have a right to be upset or is it just my fault?
Edit: to clear some things up I was ecstatic for my friend who got it and promptly congratulated him. I'm not upset with him. Just with he poor RNG system that has been plaguing the good people of this game for a long time
Edit 2: amazing how many people think I don't have the right to my own feelings lol. I guess I just came here to see how many of you were actually good people
Edit 3: to all saying I have only 400 hours according to the app, I have deleted and remade characters countless times that make up for the missing hours. I'm not lying because I have no reason to and I'm tired of the people trying to say I am. Thanks

I don't believe you have deleted and remade 600hrs of characters.... But I will believe at least 700 maybe 800 hrs, which is pretty ridiculous to not get a Gjallarhorn by. Took me 532hrs to get mine and I thought that was over the top.

4 RepliesYou payed $60 dollars for a virtual slot machine. You want to go to Las Vegas throw your money at black jack and feel entitled to a profit that your buddy made at the same table? That shit doesn't work in the real world.
-
3 RepliesJust gotta act like you don't want it man. As soon as you stop caring it will come.

Coming to a videogame forum, where 99% of what is said is hate and discontent/trolling, with the purpose of finding out how many forum-goers are "good people" was certainly a mistake. Might just be the world's worst place. Just saying. Judging by what you have said, it is reasonable to assume that you believe only those who agree with your opinion that you have the "right to be upset" and who refrain from insults are "good people." That is also a mistake. The legitimacy of your opinion comes from your point of view. You (and many others) believe there is a number of hours played and/or number of activities cleared that is accepted by the majority as a standard after which one can be legitimately "upset" if he does not receive what he wants, in your case Gjallarhorn. You seek validation from your peers on this subject. Do you deserve Gjallarhorn or not? My point of view is this: The question, "Do I deserve it?" is irrelevant. The game itself does not use some kind of "deserving judgment" to award players guns. "All will get something they want, but very few will get everything they want." This, I believe, is a basic summarization of one of the building blocks of the loot system which is designed to keep as many players as possible interested and playing Destiny for as long as possible. It's working so far. Just be glad you haven't gotten everything you want yet. It's why you're still getting your money's worth.

What part of "RANDOM" don't you get?
-
You think you're entitled to get the ghorn? You're not entitled to anything all you have to do Is play the game until you get it, people like you make the forums cancerous
-
Such a cancerous community this is. After reading the comments I lost brain cells.
-
Yup, rng system sucks donkey schlong. Keep in mind, if xûr won't sell it again, there is a chance you'll NEVER get it.
-
Yeah I'm missing GHorn and the crux. RNG is about to make me quit playing. There's literally no point in playing anymore.
-
That sucks man. I'm having the same problems with Thunderlord. It sucks, but what did you expect? Poorly designed loot systems is the name of the game in Destiny, and until they (never) fix it, keep on expecting nothing but disappointment.
-
I've dismantled 4. Kind of a normal drop for me. Just saying.

I was feeling the same way, especially after my other buddy who plays destiny got one finally about 6 weeks ago, until I finally got mine from crots 2 weeks ago. I've played since beta and have about 500 hours played. I managed just fine without it for all that time. Which is why I still havnt even leveled it up all the way yet lol don't have any real reason to just yet. Just been slowly doing a few bounties here and there and equipping it when I remember to lol it's a beast weapon but definitely not an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY like everyone is making it out to be lol
-
It's RNG, my friend got SUROS from the Crucible at level 11, I didn't get mine until two weeks ago when I was a 28. You just have to suck it up, keep playing, and hope for the best.
-
You have no rights.
-
You have the right to be upset...you also have the right to stop being a pussy, keep grinding, and game on. This is a question to speak to your therapist (mommy?) about. To expect anything other than a mouthy smartass remark from a bunch of gamers in a forum is asinine. Hopefully you get your precious horn soon.
-
If it gave everybody everything it would be a poor excuse for RNG, as it stands it's actually fairly solid RNG.
-
1000 hours and currently about $80 spent, thats $0.08 per hour of gameplay, i'd say there is no reason to be upset. I also have 1000+ hours and am on making my 11th character and I dont have Ghorn, Thunderlord, Mida, Necrochasm, Heart of Praxic Fire, Helm of St. 14, and maybe a few other items I want, but I'm not upset. If you had Ghorn, would you really continue to play or would you then feel complete and stop?

Another whiny "no gjallarhorn" post. Yay. It's been a whole 10 seconds since I saw one of these. Ugh.
-
Eventually it will drop, there is no point being upset. All of my friends have a suros including a player who started after the holidays and I don't, I have been playing since day one, but I am not mad at the game because I didn't get it. I was not proactive enough and didn't save up enough coins when Xur came to the tower to get it and I just haven't been lucky enough yet for it to drop, but it doesn't mean I wont get it. Keep your head up one day it will drop.
-
Nothing wrong with being upset, nothing wrong of being jealous. Doesn't mean you have a right to feel that way.
just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right
-
Right to be; yes. Should you be; no.
-
Yeah, you have the right to be upset. But due to random loot drops, you're not actually entitled to any specific weapon or gear no matter how long you play. If you did max nightfalls/weeklies, wouldn't you have been able to buy it from Xur early on?
-
Whether you made and deleted characters I seriously doubt you've spent enough time that you played a month straight also, just cuz you don't get a little gjallahorn doesn't mean you should be mad I don't have it. P.S. I doubt you played over 1000 hours with that Grimoire score
-
I'm also 1000 hours in and finally got the Ghorn last night from crota. Last exotic I needed. It'll come eventually.
