RIP Destiny 9/9/14 - 2/5/15.
Between constant weeks of disappointment from Xur and the recent Bungie weekly update, why should I keep playing? Especially that House of Wolves is not coming out until around June now. Playing only on Tuesdays is really the only way I can justify my time spent, unless a friend needs help. I have 3 level 32 characters (1 of each class) with all 331 raid weapons. There's really nothing more to do.
[b]In regards to Xur:[/b]
I'm not looking for exotics, I already have almost 3 of every exotic and 2 Gjallarhorns. As well as most of the helms and gauntlets for each class (the boots are garbage). Heavy ammo synthesis would be very nice though, given how much has been used since hard mode. Yes, I know I can farm glimmer on extraction zone. I have a full-time job and have farmed so much it just isn't worth my time anymore.
I'm basically saying it would have been a nice gesture on Bungie's behalf to offer the synthesis given they've acknowledged the losing heavy ammo bug.
Instead we get a big middle finger from Xur and Bungie.
Please don't even bother saying Xur is RNG.
[b]In regards to the Bungie weekly update:[/b]
How about they just test out the following first...
- Buff Pulse Rifles and NOT nerf every other gun.
- Give mobs more health if TTK is [b][i][u]SO[/u][/i][/b] important.
- Fix certain guns broken perks prior to nerfing them. Specifically the Word of Crota and Black Hammer.

Bungie has continuously proved that they are in way over their heads with this game. Multiple mass nerfs, bugs galore, paltry content, constant game crashing errors, etc.
What a joke this game has become. It has been in an uncontrollable downward spiral since The Dark Below was released.

I agree. I didn't want to spend $120 to be a beta tester of a half released game that implemented their story into cards instead of in game.

So what's next? How about spending some time helping others in the game? To be clear, I have spent more time in game, so what I am about to say is not a shot at your love of the game or time spent already. You have spent 20+ days playing Destiny. Destiny has been out for 151 Days That's an average of 3.25 hrs a day. I again, must state this is not meant to be a shot at you, but that is a ton of game time. We have to expect a point when we have spent that much time playing we will hit that plateau and not see forward momentum, or new items drop or even items of interest from Xür. So a few months from now you and I and so many like us will speed through the new content and be maxed out yet again. If you truly enjoy the game or have enjoyed it spend some time helping friends get to where you are, add new friends and help them too. I don't like some of the choices that are being made such as nerfs, or priority of fixes but that we don't have ultimate control over. We do have control over how and ultimately if we play the game.

4 RepliesI agree. I love the game but it has gotten stale with very little interest from Bungie to make things right and make it fun again. Just last night I dusted off my xbone since I have Destiny on PS4. I played Titanfall with my buddy for the first time since Destiny came out. And I couldn't believe I was having fun just playing and not worry about a mindless grind to get materials. I enjoyed myself no matter how many times I died or if we won the match or not. That is what gaming is suppose to be. I forgot that with Destiny.

I too have had the will to play this game sucked out of me since the announcement of a Q2 release date for HoW. I really think that they dropped the ball on this one. I'm not knocking this game at all, I flipping love this game, but the hope of a March 10th release was the only thing keeping me going, now I find myself lost and not knowing what to do but blow the dust off of my other games and by the time 3 or 4 months roll by I'm sure this game will merely be a fond memory. Will I be back on Tuesday? Yes. Wednesday-Monday? Definitely not. 2 or 3 weeks from now? Highly doubt it now, and considering the Winter months are the best time for gaming, I must say Bungie gets a gold star for bad timing, I mean, how long does it take to release something that's already in the game?!

I agree with most of this. Games like this with an incredibly small amount of things to do per week and never adding new content. (One raid and one strike don't count for shit). Games like this don't always die out, but they don't gain customers. They just slowly lose more and more. Once they actually add stuff that's worth it this game might shine. And yes I mean pointless raid gear that won't matter every 3 months because new vendor gear will be better. Like what game has ever done this? It's pointless. At least be able to upgrade the old shit

I agree with most you are saying except adding health to mobs, we have enough bullet sponges. However, the rest are valid points. Bungie's way of changing the game has been very disappointing. They seem more interested in all guns being equal and preventing cheeses than they do fixing the glitches and mistakes that constantly happen or providing servers to prevent the key cause of most errors which is lag in between players.

I can't lay claim to the achievements you've made, but I am with you on your gut regarding the devs and their hamfisting of this game. They won't miss a few hundred players of the dozen million they lay claim to. But there is a potential for those hundreds to become tens of thousands. On the upside Deej, The Mouth of Bungie, has arranged for some shitnickle the opportunity to guide an underemployed dev to tour a -blam!-ing map. Great. Apparently for a thousand strange coin. Whoever this useless dev is, I hope he's not working the heavy ammo bug with that other tard. "I don't want to unbalance the game." My arse.

4 RepliesYour Xur analysis is the strongest point you make. The fact that there is a measurable drought in heavy ammo that is felt community wide should of put them on notice this Friday to make sure Xur sold heavy ammo synthesis. It would be a dare-able proposition for them to not sell it next week. If they want to increase the longevity of this game they ought to work into their development philosophy to remove even the perception of grinding when it comes to basic functions/requirements of the game. (Yes, Heavy Ammo has risen to that level because of the Crota fight) The games graphics and engine will only carry them to the next big release. Halo 5 could very well kill this game if they don't fix certain grinding elements of the game. As a big fan of the game I am losing just as must interest as you have.

Drama queen. Destiny will go on without you. Destiny has made almost a billion dollars and is a huge success. Just because some scrubs don't like it, it does not mean it is a bad game.
