Edit 1: this has been trending for a full day :D. I am considering doing 1,000 strikes to get a better data table to work with which should provide a better understanding of rng for roc strikes, if this is something that people are interested in let me know with a reply and likes. And once again I'd appreciate if you would play the video just to add that 1 view if you found this helpful/informative.

I've done over 1000 strikes and would say the odds of getting an exotic are much higher than 1 in 100, whether its me or someone in my fireteam. And Legendaries drop at least 2 out of 10 strikes

Bump. Been looking for exactly this. Are you willing to share your raw data?
-
Bump it

1 ReplyAre you clumping engrams and regular weapons together here? I would really value them differently.
-
Thanks Man! That is good work!
-
Nice research. Really in depth

Edited by Oxide: 1/15/2015 2:17:30 PMDamn I'm gonna run 100 rocs now lol

You sir, have done us all a good deed. Thank you for making #destiny more than just whiney babies.
-
Bravo... thanks for the time invested.
-
OP could you please list you weapons and armor inventory when you started because i believe the personal loot stream is a factor and what is contained in your vault will skew your drop rate.
-
Very helpful! Thanks!
-
This seems like a good start. I'll document my next 100 strikes to see how they compare. Good work!
-
Tiger strikes and ROC strikes play from day on. I've got x2 hawkmoon x2 tlw x2 ice breakers 4th horseman, plan c, no land beyond.

Should spend more time at school and less time playing destiny

Edited by Sweet: 1/15/2015 1:27:18 PMSo I must be lucky, I got Patience and Time yesterday from the Crucible, got Hard Light from VoG Hard and Plan C from ROC today. Also got Dragon's Breath from Crucible today.

21 RepliesFirst. 200 is relatively small number. Second. Do you ever math bro? Total amount of things dropped=100%, then calculate, moron

Edited by Nuc1earFall0ut: 1/15/2015 11:17:05 AMI do agree with some of your numbers as far as weapons and armour are concerned. However I disagree with the strange coins and motes of light. There are days where I will pull 10 or more of each and I certainly am not doing upwards of 20 strikes. A larger scale would be more accurate. Simply one person won't be enough. Great idea though.

Well i think this isnt accuret, it should be checked by more ppl over a month time. I noticed that certain werks are more lucky with specific characters, and since RNG is a sad myth i have some theories on loot table rotations.
-
4 RepliesFalse, I get 2-4 exotics every 20-30 strikes and LE every 1-3 strikes.

this is awesome. finally get an idea of how the devs programmed the drop rates. of course its still rng as far as what item drops. but at least the drop rates arent randomized. great work
