I keep seeing people who say that 3 of the same class is cheating and I can't wrap my head around their logic. How is that cheating? They have to get drops still and upgrade their armor like everyone else. Is it cheating for me to give my hunter items that dropped on my titan? I just don't understand their logic about why it's cheating.
Edit: most responses I've ever gotten. Glad to see most think like me and that it's fine. No adequate explanation for the cheating reason. No idea how people come up with that.

37 RepliesEdited by Guardian8575: 12/29/2014 9:10:20 AMIts exploiting their system. They made it possible to have 2 or more of same character for family and friends that share a system so each person can be whatever character they want. Their intentions were not to have losers make multiples to get stuff easier. They want you to grind not take the easy way out thats sad i feel bad for everybody who does do that its pathetic and a way to try being high rank quik. Wheres the fun in that. Theres no reason for making multiples and people try to defend themselves because they know they are exploiting the system. Just like people who cheese raids try to defend themselves by saying its their fault for not fixing it or its their fault for not making it uncheeseable. Thats sad Keep trying to defend yourself cause you look pathetic. Nothing more to say except people who all 3 diff characters keep bagging on these kids they are pathetic.
-
I still grind a lot it's not easy getting exotis and radiant shards I have squeaky grinded and now have 3 lvl30 warlocks Bc I don't like hunters so it's not cheating
-
If you actually care about this topic, you are a pathetic scrub. I have all 3 classes because I enjoy different aspects about each class. If you have all the same class good for you. I don't give a -blam!-. Can we instead of piss all over each other (for really pathetic reasons) can we just play the damn game?
-
Because, virgins.
-
Its not cheating, people didnt think to do it and are jealous thats all.
-
I personally don't like the hunter or titan (lvl 25 titan) I have to warlocks and by far they are the better balanced class to me. Is it cheating no not by any means but some may look down on it but that's a good thing about a opinion. I have the right to not give a damn what others think.
-
It's only cheating because "oh you thought of doing something before I could! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAXZ!"
-
I don't consider it cheating since none of the items are soul bound. If someone wants to put the work in good for them. I only play one toon and can't make myself level my alts to 20. My main would be 32 next week thanks to good rng luck and Eros rank 4.
-
It's not, I'm still putting effort out to get things just like other players are. Sure, I might get things faster than other players because I have multiple of the same character but you could do it too if you want to. You're purposefully choosing to make getting Weekly things take longer by not having multiple characters, it's your own fault.
-
Its not cheating. It is just a Faster way to get gear. You invested 12 hours of your life to level up your other 2 same class character and your payoff is 3 of every weekly activity. I have 3 Different Class characters. For the 1st 2 months, I only had one character and was stuck as a 29 and only one Chance a week for raids, nightfalls. My titan was blessed from the rng gods to get enough raid gear and an exotic helm. Took radiant shards from my warlock and hunter to grant him 32.

Edited by Hene: 1/1/2015 4:16:33 AMNot cheating but more so for lazy people/Master race/people with not much time that want to do everything.
-
It isn't . You pay to play, so play any way that gets you your money's worth.
-
Not cheating in my eyes, if people wanna play that way then so be it. Ill put my trust in rng and have 3 different characters.
-
Because you got what I wanted before me therefore I have to belittle your achievement to make myself feel better. That's why.
-
It's not cheating. It's people mad that other people are getting to 32 faster. I have 3 Titans most of the time. I just deleted one to get the achievement for the warlock but after that I'm going back to three Titans. I don't do this because I want 32 faster. I do it because I like Titans. I can't stand playing other classes. Titans fit my play style and I like their abilities. It's as simple as that.
-
1 ReplyIt's really not cheating because you still have to spend time trying acquire something's.
-
Simple, it's not. My job here is done.
-
6 RepliesNot cheating, just a bunch of pussies who need 32 to guarantee them a fast 32

One of the major rules of online gaming buddy; "If they're better than you, they're cheating". Running three of the same characters is by far the most efficient way to get the best gear currently available, but it's definitely not an unfair advantage as anyone can use this method. The real reason so many ppl get upset by it comes down to entitlement. You're not playing the game the "proper" (read: same), way as others, therefore are cheating. Bottom line is that bungie designed the game this way, and made this an option, so the people giving others grief for having three of the same class really have no leg to stand on.
-
It's not - it's simply deciding to put all of your eggs into one basket. Obviously if you do 3 of one class you'll be getting stuff for that one class quicker. However you won't be able to participate with any other classes I say do whatever you want.
-
3 of the same class for a short term boost of leveling and attempting to be lucky with RNG... that is just choice to trade in for the joy of 3 different classes, slight different in gameplay and able to wear any gear the game provides.. reducing the boring grinding and etc. Its like all eggs in a basket vs a diversity way of playing. Its not cheating.
-
I think it is a huge handicap. But that is just me. Having all 3 makes every Exotic engram fun.
-
5 Repliesthis is the dumbest shit I've ever read. there is nothing about Titans or Warlocks that make me what to use them, so I shouldn't be allowed to have 3 characters? -- FunFact: 99% of us are sitting on our asses while we play video games. -- stop calling people lazy because they use a different combination of characters when they sit around pressing buttons.
-
2 RepliesIt's not. It's just using mechanics of the game vault etc. to increase the speed of leveling you character. If that's your thing good for you have fun.
-
12 RepliesEdited by Argonaut101: 12/29/2014 9:38:26 PMFor me 3 of the same is ok but 3 different is complete cheating . The whole of this game is based around RNG and it's drops . Sometimes you're supposed to win Sometimes your supposed to lose If you have 3 different characters you can't miss , just switch the loot to whichever character needs it . The only way to stop this cheating is to lock loot down to the character that won it . Also I'm working towards 3 warlocks so I can maximize my chances of the Exotics I want from Nightfall . Considering i've only had coins EVER from Nightfall 8 weeks running I need all the help I can get. I don't Raid and I couldn't give a shit about getting to 32 either. For what I play 31 is more than enough , getting to 32 doesn't interest me.

The people stating it's cheating are joking. If they are serious, I don't know what can be done to help them. They obviously have issues.....
