All about Jackolytes
Let's discuss this thing.
What is it, what does it do, how long does it last, is it one time use only, are there any hidden effects?
I'm currently at work and I'm curious.
If all it is is a consumable to change appearance, I think everyone is going to be highly disappointed. It could at least make rare or higher engrams drop more often, give a 4x multiplier to glimmer gains, increase chest rewards or give max stats (100%) to the player using it.
EDIT:
What we know so far -
1. 30 min consumable, from postmaster. Stack of 3. Just one.
2. Strange sounds can be heard while wearing it.
3. Pumpkinhead Does not work for everyone (glitchy)
4. Jackolyte sometimes drops from Hive enemies.
5. It changes your helmet into an acolyte Jackolantern.
6. Having completed the nightfall seems to be part of #3
7. Xur sells an extra item if you visit him after freshly using one. (Flight of shadows, changes respawn animation for 24 hours.)

When I put it on in the tower it stayed till I went to orbit. Last I had looked it was over 45 mins. So it might last longer in the tower.

I don't know why the effect works for some and not others. But I want to see this stuff work without fail at some point. I don't get how Bungie has always required port switching for their games, while other games can stabilize their server connection and game connection to the point where you can't even tell the difference between solo play and online (sorry for the side comment there) but it just adds credence to the fact that they want to make us happy but things are happening and it's ruining experiences. I wanted the jackolyte head to work so bad, tried it twice and gave up because I get no audio differences and no visual head change, I have noticed hive run away and more glimmer drops, but that is it....

Whenever I use these -blam!-ing things they dont show on my head and or nothing -blam!-ing happens. And with the constant disconnects after the patch im about ready to say -blam!- bungie and there trollish shit.

2 RepliesI'm still not sure what it does. I used it and it said something about the hive. I got a thirty minute timer but I didn't know what it was for. If it is supposed to change your head piece I guess it didn't work. I did do the nightfall though.
