I don't see why people don't want him in the game. Can someone enlighten me on this? What's so bad about grinding missions to get strange coins to buy exotics?

5 RepliesThe only reason I don't like xur is this...and I know plenty of people may have already put this out there...it just takes away the excitement and pride of having an exotic. I had got the symboite helmet for my hunter about a week and half ago. I felt so proud to have it because at that time a lot of hunters were using the mask of the third man. The item xur had first sold the week of launch. It looks like a bad ass exotic and good perks, and I want it, but I...I would honestly just toss it in the vault after leveling it up. Sadly xur recently sold the symboite helmet this past weekend. The amount of people that have told me, "oh you got that helmet from xur this weekend I'm guessing?" Is too damn high. I still use it because I love the perks on it but it doesn't feel special anymore. I'm glad, and I hope, he doesn't sell the patience and time this up coming weekend. I really love that sniper rifle, it was my first exotic weapon and the exotic weapon I dreamed of getting since it was...I guess announced? Xur is nice for the people that just have time to do the minimum in destiny but him selling exotics just makes them feel like...legendaries...I would prefer it if he just sold exotic engrams.

Because he stole my girl with his unlimited supply of vibrating coins.

Don't mind me xur showing up every friday. As long I have motes/ strange coins in good supply....im happy

Special Snowflake Syndrome.

4 RepliesTheir logic is as follows... 1. I found weapon 2. I only wantz to haz weapon 3. I'll complain if u can also getz weapon
-
Cheapens Exotic acquisition simple as that! He should just sell legendaries! Its all bass akward when a simple colour scheme for you Guardian is harder to acquire than the best of the best weapons in the game!
-
2 RepliesIt seems like an unfair advantage but I mean , people have to earn the payment options (coins / light) so to me it's the same as finding an exotic.... But a lot less random chance haha
-
3 RepliesIt's understandable how they feel that way. Me personally? Ima wreck your shit in PvP regardless if you have the same weapon or not but when you put in work for said item, it's annoying to see it go for sale on Xur the following weekend. People say it's by chance and while sure that may be true but at the same time, you did the Nightfall, Raid, Strike, Farming, everything you did from that point was to obtain your exotic and you earned it, which is good and you deserve it. It doesn't deserve to be sold to literally everyone the following weekend, it makes you feel like you worked for nothing when honestly? You could have just bought it. People keep saying "Well I worked hard for my strange coins!" Did you really? I mean honestly. You can get them from damn near everything. The lv. 28 Strikes give you 9 of them. Listen and pay attention because bungie is going to hate me for this. If you create two characters that are the same class as yours, you can earn damn well 28 coins a week from strikes ALONE. Not to mention you can get multiple rewards from nightfall, daily heriocs and Raids. You can do every single one of those three times. You may be thinking "Why the shit would I level up two other characters of which I already have?" Well simple, dumbass. Leveling on Destiny is probably the easiest, most laid back leveling ever and it's super fast. Why create other classes when you can get your first one you created to it's full potential, delete the other two when you're done and work on two separate classes afterwards? It's not hard, it's actually quite simple. People make excuses as to why they can't get things but honestly, it's because you feel as if it's a drag to do it. I won't blame you. Not being able to skip those bum ass cut scenes and repeating the same missions over and over doesn't seem worth it. You have work, we get that. Maybe some kids to take care of. In which you're saying that things should be "easier" for you simply because you personally don't have time? Make time. If you can't, you're SOL. I have a job and I go to school but I'm lvl 29 with some pretty good gear from using my own method. Find yours.

6 RepliesEdited by C2USS: 10/3/2014 3:10:37 PMOP, I share in your confusion... - Farming for legendary engrams for a chance at exotics... - Farming strikes, weeklies, and/or the raid for a chance at exotics... Comparatively - Farming for rare and legendary engrams for a chance at Strange Coins or Motes of Light to use when Xur visits the Tower... - Waiting week after week for a chance Xur sells that one exotic you've had your eye on... Can anyone point out a difference in methods where obtaining an exotic didn't involve farming or chance of any sort?

1 ReplyExcuse the ignorance- but what is "Xur" ?
-
Edited by Alec Fair: 10/4/2014 2:56:24 PMI think because Xur sold an overpowered healing auto rifle last weekend and an over powered healing and retard strong reload pulse rifle this weekend.
-
2 RepliesI would give up all the guns I have for that Xūr to stop selling exotics left and right..... I really wanted the red death but now he's selling it I think I'll keep my epilogue
-
I don't mind him... I just hope his table of Exotics isn't every exotic. I'd rather some be exclusive to RNG or a specific objective.
-
2 RepliesI want to go to the highest point in moon and found a sniper rifle that have 20x sight and nobody else have that weapon, Xur and bounties destroy that dream of mine....
-
23 RepliesIt's a funny thing. You have the people calling xur's exotics "welfare" exotics. We'll ignore the obvious political motivations behind making wellfare a four letter word. But these same people claiming wellfare exotics are the same people who are more than likely living at home with their parents... It's ripe with parody. The people getting these "wellfare exotics" are the ones who are working for a living. It's just baffling listening to kids whine about the adults who play the game and are trying to keep up with the basement dwellers.

2 RepliesEdited by GolfingPigeon: 10/4/2014 4:49:20 AMElitists think their randomly dropped exotic is more valuable and better than others' purchased exotic. They resent the fact that anyone else could possibly have it also. That is, of course, unless it's something they want too.
-
The lucky ones blessed by RNG are worried now they'll have real competition, since everyone has at least 1 good exotic weapon/armor.
-
1 ReplyBecause his name is 3 letters... 3 x 3 is 9, when the letter X is separated by the lines, it makes two 1's. 911, xur is a terrorist.
-
I want to be Xur. He looks sweet.
-
7 Repliescause he sells exotics that are supposed to be hard to earn... not buy so it really ruins the point of "exotic"
-
Because people think buying it means they didn't earn it. I could care less what they think. I worked hard to earn my strange coins. Most of these "elitists" probably don't have the sack to earn 9 coins by doing the Weekly Heroic Strike with the Level 28 Heroic modifier.
-
There should be raid exotics and normal exotics, He should sell normal ones. We all know he would never sell a single raid item, So have some raid only exotics. Not the mythoclast, I mean somthing like suros so he cant sell it
-
they just don't want anyone to buy the stuff they have bought already
-
1 ReplyThe problem with him i feel is that he gives the same loot that can be found from engrams. This kind of cheapens the excitement of finding something if you can just go ahead and buy it. I think Xur needs his own loot table outside of what can be found out in the World of Destiny. Also I think the other part of the problem is just how small the variety of loot you can get is.
