I'm not trying to start a debate or anything but I wanted to know everyone's opinion on our level carrying over. Me myself fell that I really don't care it would be cool and all but I think of it like sword art online we are all beater's ( beta cheater's ). Even if we all have to start over we already know a lot about the game some of us already have a good group dynamic to fighting in the crucible. Their for I think it would be good to start over. I just wanted to see how all my clan mate's feel.

Beta tests are called that for a reason. It's great to give players a first loom and so!e time to try things out but if xp rates changed or stats or weapons in the release it wouldn't be right or fair to non beta participants when the game releases.

Hmm i don't think it should and I'm not saying that because I wasn't playing but i don't know I don't want to feel that I got this because I got a head start I want to feel like I earned my lvl on the same playing field but that's just me

There is a relatively low level cap and even then it is a soft cap. In order to compete in a raid it is said you need a gear lvl of about 25 and even then it is expected to be strongly difficult. That being said the way you pass your lvl cap is by gearing. I feel like allowing us to have the lvl 8 jump wouldn't do much to break the game however I understand that in the end bungie wants to be as fair as possible. And with the beta technically open to everybody in the end everyone had an opportunity to increase their familiarity with the game.

2 RepliesI don't recall ever playing a beta where there wasn't a server wipe before servers became live. But then again every beta I have played has had the forums saturated with posts demanding carryover. I never entered the beta expecting to keep my character and quite frankly don't think that anyone should. I would be unfair on anyone who didn't play the beta especially given that we had accelerated levelling.

Betas should never carry over. It is simply to test and stress. I'm sure code changes from now until launch day so there will be changes to certain mechanics. That being said, this game doesn't seem like it is a race to the finish and different people will progress at their own pace. Having to start from scratch shouldnt be the big deal that alot of people are making it out to be on the forums. I got so much crap during the beta that I would love to see transfer including 2 purples, but it isnt the end of the world. I feel that the level playing feeled will also provide more community while leveling especjally since their is a lack of in game communication.
